Having an alt template in the loop builder is really great. The mega menu option is great as well but I've never used one. Might give it a try but not sure how that works on mobile. As far as the UI changes, I'm seldom a fan of those. Especially when they completely change the layout like they have here. I hope they don't make a habit of doing this. That said, it does look like it will be more functional. At least once they add a clear way to exit.
I hope Elementor intend to do a lot more work on the Mega Menu. I have used it a couple of times now, but I can't develop with it for any client that requires robust Accessibilty requirments as keyboard focus simply does not work, even with attribute customisation. Also, for large sites with many sub navs it would be great to be somehow hooked in to the classic WP appearance > menus structure.

The trick for this is to create the pop up menu, then and the standard Nav menu, then under responsive menu, turn off for mobile, tablet and desktop, it can then be read by search engines

How long is it going to be before these ‘experiments’ are stable enough to be included in the main tools of Elementor? I’ve not played with any of these yet as I don’t see the point until they are useable within live sites. They all seem really useful and I can see many applications for me, especially where I am currently using additional plugins to perform these tasks, such as Ultimate Tools for Elementor which has a perfectly useable Mega Menu widget. I’m not sure why the team at Elementor take so long….

Elementor say it's stable and a lot of people are using it in production - but, it is worth bearing in mind they may change something fundamental about the way it works (they've already done this once) that may cause issues with your designs.
Unfortunately, I have no idea. Elementor are not the fastest at moving features like this from Alpha/Beta status and until the Container goes to a final release and not a Beta, I don't see this becoming final I'm afraid.
Great feature, but annoying that I have to convert over to flex box to use these... means I have to change my teams workflow and retrain them to use containers, just to use this feature.
I hate it when devs "FIX" things that NO ONE HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT, and DON'T fix things that EVERYONE HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT, like them changing the UI for NO REASON. Seems they have excess time on their hands, if only they rather used that excess time to fix just SOME of the things that EVERYONE HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT or ASKED FOR the PAST FEW YEARS Like the Mega Menus, GREAT, just about 3 years too late!
I think you’re missing the point. The new builder design is based on a newer faster architecture / framework called React. So if they want to improve the usability and reliability of the theme builder, then this is a logical step.

The ability to align the icons in an icon list vertically is a welcome addition. Up til now I've had to use CSS to style it.

If you build with the new containers and flexbox behaviours it is super fast

Vertical Layout is now not a thing (as I use it in May '23) . Frankly, I'm finding Elementor's mega menu a right pain to create.
Only way I could find to get to the exit button at the moment is to click the escape button
Seems a bit of an odd oversight.. obviously, Elementor doesn't think people want to actually exit their product. lol

After three years, they released a mega menu. Sadly, it's as stable as a pogo stick on a tightrope, and Elementor is as reliable as a broken clock.
