Where was the deck gun ammo stored on the U-boats? Did crews have to haul crates up every time they wanted to shoot a cargo ship? Or were there watertight compartments on the deck/tower?
the U-boat Vade commanded in the video seems to have been of the Type VIIC, the main gun was 88mm SK/C35 with something about 160-240 rounds stored onboard, depending on who you ask as for the ammo storage, the main ammo locker is said to be situated somewhere under the command room (might be in the front part as just under the command room is a ballast tank and to the rear is one of the battery bank), from here the rounds were carried one-by-one to the conning tower where it seems there was some kind of mechanism to have the ammo delivered through the wall to the deck gun. now i found that there was a watertight ammunition locker somewhere on the deck for rapid engagement while the crew inside dealt with hoisting the ammo from the main locker, but so far i have been unable to find indication on where it is
I used to play a Silent Hunter 3 alot, and i have to say that, it was more advanced, had a better graphics, and the realism was on much higher level. C'mon, in real life attacking convoy was most about picking high value ships, checking it's distance and course, calculating coordinates to torpedo computer, fire torpedos, and then planning defence, because after first impact, you could be sure that all escorts ships will be on you. There was no point to attacki escort ships, because it has no value, it is hard to hit (small and fast) and you loosing precious torpedoes, and loosing chance to hit anything, because after first hit all ships will apply defence manovuers... Remeber, that Uboat service, what most about hiding and praying for not being hit with deep water bomb
Attacking British merchant convoys in a U-boat with Wagner playing in the background is possibly the most German thing I have ever seen.
@Soren Seth Thanks for asking, no one cares.

hauling up every time) not a primary weapon, anyway.

There was a waterproof ammo storage beside, in front or behind the deckgun

What is this Geneva Conventions?
btw in 13:39 use the knife range finding method you will miss less shots before you got them zeroed
Were you Morse code signaling with the other U-boats?
Morse + Enigma - Though the code get "translated" automatically ingame.

So, what kind of game is this? Post Scriptum but with U-boats?
Was ist mit dem Retten der Schiffbrüchigen? :P
Once you spotted that first ship you should have went below and dived to periscope depth. That corvette would have never seen you.
Love it Vade

During war I don’t think you aloud to sink a passenger boat
This was in 1940. When Nazi Kriegsmarine's wolfpacks of subs would sink every ship bound to UK from the US, in order to cut their supplies.
You make it look so fucking easy...
Hey if you sink all the destroyers the convoy’s all yours
Bill Burr and cruise ships
