Pioneer Mill restaurant in Tiffin, Ohio is reputed to be a very haunted 19th century flour mill where several tragedies took place. A few groups of ghost hunters have investigated the Mill and found a great deal of spirit activity. You can also have a pretty good meal before you leave.

When I was a student at Ohio University in Athens, I studied psychology and we did a lot of our studies at the Ridges. Horrific when it was still active. Amazing how mental illness treatment has changed over the years.

Lima State Hospital / Home For The Criminally Insane, in Lima Ohio and The Franklin Castle, on West 41st and Franklin Are. in Cleveland, Ohio. Both places deserve a spot on your list.

I was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Ohio and have lived in Xenia, Oh. since 2003. I have set many monuments in Woodland Cemetery working for a monument co. and we never noticed anything weird but we always worked in the daytime. Took a tour through the "Mansfield reformatory" once and every ones batteries went dead prior to the end of the tour which was weird.....nobody could take photos or record anymore.

We moved to an 1896 era. home in Tiffin, Ohio and it's also haunted. I'm aware of all of the families who lived in our home before us and they're very welcome to stay. I think they appreciate the care and work we're putting into the home, trying to bring it back to the way it was when first built. They only show themselves in vague ways like slowly moving chairs, leaving the scent of flowers or cigars, and sometimes I feel an ever so gentle touch on my shoulder. They're actually seen in our basement by my husband but never myself. I absolutely don't go into the basement much.

The Collingwood Art Center in Toledo is pretty scary, it used to be a convent and there's tons of old stories and ghosts get sighted there all the time. The most common sightings include the nun in the theater is probably the most common story, there's also the suicide stairwell, and the basement where a lot of people died from the Spanish Flu.

I worked and attend Ohio University. I actually was a student worker in an office at the ridges. The body stain is real, and the custodian said they tried even acid and it would not come up. Also a lot of shadows and curtains move on their own. I was alone up in a storage area, and heard a broom sweeping the floor. I first thought it was the custodian, but when I looked for him, he was no where to be found (he was across campus at a shop during that time). Also in cutler the girl drew pentagram and other satanic writing in blood on the wall. They tried to cover it with paint, but it always would come back through. They ended up building a false wall in front of it, so it may still be there.

My parents and my sister lived at a haunted house, I’ll tell you the story, I wasn’t born yet tho. So they needed a new carpet because they just moved to this house and it was built a long time ago, they had a monitor thing for my sister, she was a baby, but at night my parents heard a old lady singing a lullaby but in Ukrainian, I won’t tell you much tho but keep on going, it was coming from the monitor tho, and when they left the house for like dinner at a place or a random reason, their neighbors said the lights in the room for my sister had the lights on, but they left and they were turned off. I don’t know if I believe it, but..
You never know, bonus:my sisters grandpa at the time came to it and said he been there before, so I guess he was a ghost hunter because he said he was sent there. I hope you enjoyed this story. Thank you for your time. This was in, yeah Ohio.

I used to teach US History and Ohio was one a free territory as part of the old Northwest Territory. No slavery was actually in the charter. So you are absolutely right. It makes me question the validity of the other stories.

As a "ghost hunter", I can't believe you missed the most important cause of paranormal events at the majestic theater.
    Copied from web:
Perhaps one of the most intriguing fact in the Majestic’s history was its use as a temporary morgue in 1918 when the Spanish Influenza swept through the nation. Nearby Camp Sherman was struck particularly hard. Around 1,400 cases of the flu were reported in September. October was much works with around 5,600 cases reported. The town of Chillicothe was quarantined in an attempt to prevent the spread of the flu to the local population. The quarantine was not totally effective and many people outside of Camp Sherman were infected and died. In all, almost 1,200 people from Camp Sherman died as a result of the epidemic. With more bodies than the morgue could handle, the Majestic Theatre was used as a temporary morgue. The bodies were stacked like cordwood in the dressing rooms below the stage until they could be taken onto the stage for embalming. Every now and then, one of the “bodies” would be found alive and rushed to the hospital. Once the bodies made their way to the stage for embalming, the blood and other bodily fluids were drained to Masonic Alley adjacent to the theatre. The alley was nicknamed Bloody Alley, a name that many locals call it today.

PORTSMOUTH OHIO SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THAT LIST. ACTUALLY ALL OF SCIOTO COUNTY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THAT LIST.
THAT'S WHERE IM ORIGINALLY FROM. And let me tell you it is very much Haunted the majority of PORTSMOUTH was built on top of a massive Indian burial ground. Which everyone knows to not disturb a burial ground in general but especially a Indian Burial ground. For who so ever shall be brave enough to do so will be cursed along with all of the Land and which it is still very much cursed still to this very day. Not to mention there are also still underground tunnels that run underneath the Ohio River from Kentucky connecting to And even coming out on the Ohio side you can still access the tunnels in certain areas but I wouldn't suggest Going in them tho because they might collapse or cave in on you. Some of the tunnels even connect to some people's Basements in there houses and they can even access them through their Basements. There were mainly used to smuggle slaves from Kentucky to Ohio during the Slave days. And I would say that they probably even used them tunnels for Smuggling Moonshine as well along with many other things during the Prohibition days.
