Drove 1.5 hrs to try that place. Ordered house special crab, diced steak french style, shredded taro w/ chives, salt and pepper squid and house special fried rice.
All good eating. Paid $185 including drinks. Nothing is cheap after covid.

This is also my favorite Chinese place for seafood. I love their crab, their fried fish special, their french style filet mignon. Their garlic crab fried rice..omg..yum. I miss them as I now live in Vegas, but speaking of French theres a little unassuming spot in Upland, Ca ( about 30 minutes from here ) that has the best..BEST BEST BEST calimari you've ever tasted, ask for it with white sauce. The places name is Le Chef. It's one of my favorite spots in all of Cali and I spent 40 years in Cali.
wait wait my bad it's Le Gourmet. In my defense the name has changed 3 times but the calimari hasn't.

So am in LA away from home for work and always looking for a good seafood spot. I am glad that I landed in this video. I am actually waiting in my food as I am writing this. I told them that Rockstar made a nice video and I just had to try. They knew exactly who I was talking about and got all smiley and were repeatedly saying your name😂 . That was pretty funny and nice to see them getting excited about you❤. They even went to the back in the kitchen with your name. Next time you're in Monterey Park you gotta go to Ravello Osteria. Who would've thought that some of the best Italian food in SoCal would be in Monterey Park. Pizza is cooked in a wood fire oven.

Monterey Park has diminished as of late as THE center of Hong Kong style seafood in LA. I'm glad to see that at least One Place is still left.
What is a red cod? That fish in the intro is called a vermillion or red snapper (rock fish one not to get confused with izumidai)

Taste of MP is on the same street just east on the north side of Garvey, 100 times better and price is much more reasonable along with better service, the staff is not snooty!! Born and raised in Monterey park , just tried out for the 1st time today, very disappointed.

It's a relatively safe area. I worked and lived near Monterey Park for over 20 years. East l.a. isn't as dangerous as people make it out to be. You should be fine.

The prices have gone up. Before you could get the crab dish for 25.00. Now it going to cost 60.00 or more. This place used to be called seafood village. Changed the name to seafood palace.
