Totally agree with Colin Boniface. Lots of smiles and positive energy. Editing skills are fabulous ‼️ Can't wait to see your arrival footage. ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝 👙 🌞 ✨
I'm seeing a resurgence of your earlier video style.. A hold shot, focus time... I love it. Looks like the stress of the journey is abating and the pleasure of the journey is taking over... Outstanding... A calmness has befallen the crew of See The Little Things... Isn't it great...
Absolutely incredible editing & imaging. Excellent color saturation with superb cropping put me @ the waterline. How wonderful ❤ the composition of movement. I had serious kinetic effects. Bravo
Another wonderful video. Some thoughts on your reefing setup: I am nervous that you have the reef line attached to an eye strap on the boom. Risky. I suggest you loop the boom with the reefing line and attach it with a buntline knot, not a bowline. Secondly, the reef cringle is far away for the boom. That is likely because you tightened the main halyard before you had fully tighten the reefing line. Reverse the order. If you loosen the main sheet first, then lower the sail and then tighten the reefing line (which will result in the reef cringle being right at the boom) and then tighten the main halyard and finally tighten the main sheet, you will have a neat and safe reef. When it is blowing 50+knots, you'll be happy that you did.
Outstanding quality of this video. Love the pool noodles. Try chafe covers on your Genoa sheets. It's amazing where things chafe and how quickly it happens on a down wind, rolly passage. Consider using a low friction ring for the reef line instead if a block. A lot less weight on the sail. I get you were on passage and tried what you had but the low friction rings work very well and can be easily put on with a dyneema soft shackle. would also work on your jib/genoa sheet chafe issue. They can also be used as barber haulers to help better shape the headsail when running.
Great video thanks. I really miss being at sea. Hopefully within the next year I will have my boat, at least I am working towards that end. I really enjoy Levi he looks like he is having fun. I dreamt about sailing as a kid. My dad took me sailing when I was 5 years old, I really did not want to get off the boat! I am 70 years old now and miss the sea.
Maybe you should start a line of STLT homemade baby clown lures. Never have I seen such fishing luck with homemade lures. Legends you are. A fillet knife that bends would help with fish cleaning. Your video documentation of the trip is great Alex, the videos just keep rocking, you guys are in the groove. And that Levi, OMG he is just precious.
We have indeed thought about that hahaha. We were so surprised too! Sometimes it took like 45 minutes for the fish to bite 😂 Thanks Mike, he becomes chubbier and cuter by the day 😁
You are a brave young couple. NIce to see you crossing an ocean with a Ben 36 and Hydrovane combo. I had a Ben 40 with one as well. One tip on how to land the Mahi with two people, don't use the gaff. Put gloves on and pull the line in by hand the last 20 feet and just pull it into the cockpit. Stay safe out there!
Hey guys, you're living my dream...sailing with the family...thanks for sharing good AND bad times. Makes me feel alive every time I see your videos. Liebe Grüße, Saludos Javi
I gave you some $h!t a few weeks ago about not catching any fish . So glad you overcame that delima . I love the home made lure you been using . The Maui seem to love it too . I think the reason you lost that last fish was because Andy may have let the line slack for a second. A good tip is to always keep tension on the line so the fish can't spit the hook . Great job nevertheless . So good to see you all smiling and enjoying the crossing .
Great video. Hydrovane is the best, having used on our circumnavigation in the 1980s, using one now on our planned crossing to the Azores from the USA.
Will you be using any power catamaran tips on your academy even though you are sailing? As my bride and I have gotten older,we have decided our next boat will be a PC. 😊
Hey Richard! Will publish all the modules and topics soon. It won’t be a sailing course, we would not dare to be sailing instructors. It is mainly content about how to live on a boat and make liveaboard life comfortable and easy. But whenever it’s sailing or boat handling, we will likely have specific examples from our boat but the idea is to be able to apply the knowledge generically.
@@seethelittlethings - No, that is an accurate description of that adorable baby boy. Side note - I dreamt of babys a while ago. Fat, soft, kuddly little babies crawling all over me. A dozen or so, just wanting to kuddle me. It was the best dream I've ever had! /C
It depends and we had a lot of time to experiment. We noticed that generally we got more bites the closer we trawled the lure. It seemed that the boat caught the fish’s attention from farther away and the lure was the prey they were looking for
Haha that’s ok, we were happy for him too. Just our tummies we’re disappointed ;) Every time we pulled one in, you do think: wow what an amazing creature! And they are so beautifully colourful. So we do appreciate them 😁 but yeah I do get where you’re coming from. The first one we reeled in I felt so bad about! It gets easier after a few 🙈

So important to optimise for single handed - we are also looking at ways to do this as well so thank you for your ideas

Another fantastic episode. Love the lures! Fair winds & following seas!
Thanks Vern :):) they worked surprisingly well !
Great underwater shots with the mahi fighting for its life and finally escaping. And the LA idea is quite nice!
Like the idea of a survey. Well done. Keep up the good work. Baby is getting big. 😍 cute.
Awesome - love the idea of an honest how to guide. Great stuff!
Thanks Sharon! We’re so excited about it!

Great video guys, love the pool noodles 🥰☺️
Great video guys! Dude even if you would have been able to gaff that mahi, the footage was totally worth it. Pool noodle…Brilliant!!!
Thanks Bums. We were pretty stoked about the underwater footage when we watched it back :D

You seem to be a lot more relaxed with the boat sorted out.
Safe travels 🌲 Eeyore
Yeeaah slowly the relaxation kicked in and things got easier :):)
Found you guys from episode of bums on a boat. Really enjoyed your channel
Awesome! We’re currently hanging out with them in Grenada :)
Great job! ⛵
Beautiful video!
Great video!!!
Great catch...mac
Is it a coincidence that you are starting the liveaboard academy, just after Ryan and Sophie introduced something similar?
Who is Ryan or Sophie?
@@seethelittlethings th-cam.com/users/RyanSophieSailing just take a look...... Sorry to say this but as a youtube sailor you should know them.
Lots of great comments from your viewers - what more can be said?
Buy you a beer? 😂

How far behind the boat do you leave the lure
It depends and we had a lot of time to experiment. We noticed that generally we got more bites the closer we trawled the lure. It seemed that the boat caught the fish’s attention from farther away and the lure was the prey they were looking for
Left it at 2-3 boat lengths mostly as far as I remember
@@seethelittlethings thanks I think 30feet back ty
Amazed your subs aren't growing more quickly. As a vegetarian of more than 30 years, I'm so pleased that last fish found freedom...sorry! :)
