    I just bought a new terrova. Only had it in the water once. Trading it in for the ulterra. I like you fish by myself and this is a game changer for me. Thanks for the video!

    I have been launching my boat like that for two years even when I have people in the boat, just have to make sure it is on and working before you back into water

    Trolling motor, cool....
    The boat is what I am looking at! That thing is sick! We need a tour of it!

    It still raises my beats per minute through the roof every time I do it, and I’ve never had the nerve to try it on a river.

      I've used mine on the Savannah river in GA. Current 4-5 knots. My spot lock was "spot" on. Remained stern downstream just as it should. Go practice with either some long ropes or a chase boat.

    I think that’s the longest boat launch I’ve ever seen

    You need to add a stabilizer to the motor while traveling. It saves the motor

      I wondered the same thing scanned the video and found it is a Thunder Jet on an EZ Loader trailer with a Mercury outboard and the Ulterra. Nice setup!

    can you connect this trolling motor to your fish finder? and set points and then go back to them?

    • @hookedonreelin4958
      @hookedonreelin4958  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can! If you have a Humminbird finder it can easily just sync up with a cable. I believe the last I heard MinnKota was coming out with adapter to fit the Lowrance systems as well. I really great unit.

    Where did you get the rocket launcher rod holders?

    • @hookedonreelin4958
      @hookedonreelin4958  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dave N. I got it online at oceansouth.us (Ocean South USA) they have tons of options and I believe they also sell their stuff on amazon as well. Less than $100 if I remember correctly.

      Mauricio Miranda I love it! Great boat. I actually bought it from ASFB Marine at the end of last year. Wishing it was bigger... But I guess I’ll just have to upgrade in a couple years!

      @@hookedonreelin4958 Beautiful boat, how much did that boat cost and does that place do financing? How much monthly payments? Oh and by the way what is the distance before the remote control loses signal from the Minn Kota? Thanks In Advance 👍🏼

    24 or 36 volt trolling motor battery system?

    • @hookedonreelin4958
      @hookedonreelin4958  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a 36 volt system.

    • @aProudOG
      @aProudOG 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hookedonreelin4958 Thanks! I also have an Ulterra and love it. I’m on a 24 volt system though and have been wondering how long batteries will last trolling for trout.

    • @hookedonreelin4958
      @hookedonreelin4958  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aProudOG Honestly, if my batteries are fully charged it’ll last all day, or even a couple of days only because I have the MinnKota Alternator charger which helps keep the batteries charged while I’m trolling. Since I don’t have a kicker I run my main engine to troll all day. How long does your system usually last being on a 24v system?

    • @aProudOG
      @aProudOG 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hookedonreelin4958 I use it mainly for crappie fishing, have never really trolled with it but now want to give trout a try. Batteries usually last all day when I move around hunting crappie but once last year after using spot lock all day, the charge waned to a point where GPS wouldn’t hold the boat in place. I troll for stripers on the delta using the big motor and can go as slow as 2.5 mph depending on wind and current.

    • @hookedonreelin4958
      @hookedonreelin4958  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aProudOG Trolling for trout is a good time! Trout like it fast, so anywhere between 2.5 - 3.0mph so you’ll be ok. If you want to slow things down a bit and go for Kokanee you look into getting a trolling plate. It works great and I can get down to 1.2mph now when before the slowest I could go was 2.5. I mainly just use my Ulterra to steer. I keep the trolling motor at 2.5 usually which is just enough to track straight or steer the boat around with my main barely in gear. Works fine all day no problem.

  • @whales302

    I don't get it, don't you have to be in range of the remote? You parked so far from your boat? I thought the range was only 100 feet...

    • @rds990
      @rds990 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      MinnKota's manual says the range is 30 feet !!!

    • @anthonycarbajal7772
      @anthonycarbajal7772 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The remote disconnects once you’re out of range. But once you get back in range it reconnects. However the spot lock stays engaged the entire time. I have been doing this for one year now and have never had an issue with it reconnecting.
