      We can be healing ourselves ... and participate in healing the world at the same time. This is the concept of inter being. Indeed we cannot do as much for the world if we are isolated. That we can heal, is one of Thay's messages - and how we can heal.

      In my case it was a copy of The Path of Emancipation found in a Goodwill store eleven years ago. Thay had been recommended to me by a commenter-a Vietnam War veteran-on Huffington Post as I was reaching out during a very trying time in my journey. That seed has taken root in a very real way ever since. I sometimes feel concerned about lacking a Sangha in the strictest sense but have come to the realization that Sangha is what you make of it and is everywhere.

    As Usual Thay's Talks are wonderful. Therfore I thinke there is a mistake between the title of the question and the topic of Thay's answer. In the talk Thay did not mentioned about justice and anger

    • @plumvillageapp

      Dear Fabio, thank you for your comment. This video has been excerpted from a longer recording of a Q&A session where Thay answers questions from the audience as well as questions asked via the internet, like this one (there’s a card with it at the beginning of the video). Thay does not repeat the words in the question, but he does explain how we can react to the suffering (coming from injustice too) in the world by nourishing the peace in ourselves (not the anger). As he says, be peace first, so you can do peace later (and fight injustice). Hope this helps. We also wanted to keep true to the series and add at least part of the keywords of the questions in the titles also. These are indeed questions asked often and hopefully more people looking for answers will come this way and listen to Thay’s advice. With gratitude 🙏

    This feels like a fake question. Disingenuous. I don’t think people fight injustice because they’re driven by anger. I think people (who go to retreats and ask questions) fight injustice to justify their anger. But I think their anger comes from the same place mine does, the same place the other wretched sinners of this world get our anger: From our psyche, our unhealed wounds, our fear, etc.

    • @BeastxxWar
      @BeastxxWar ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the way I took the question was a bit different but still agree with what you said about the source of our anger. Sometimes when we become more involved and feel responsible for the state of the world around us, we want to help make positive change but become angry when others do not respond the way we hope for or we see more unjustices or hate around us and it is frustrating because we feel powerless or like we are not ever going to be able to change the world and ourselves for the better. We must heed this advice from him here and be compassionate and heal ourselves so when we go out into the world and try to heal others, we are not dealing with our own internal sicknesses or we will not be able to help as we would like to. Much love ❤️
