The performances from the actors really sell the story, themes, and like you said, make them feel like real people.
This is one of the only RPGs where even on the 3rd playthrough I made the same decisions because I couldn't bring myself to make the "wrong" decisions. I couldn't stand to make the characters upset lol.

It resonated so much with me. To embrace beauty in mundane... To be just an average guy and happy with that. Striving for ambitions should be like a spice, not the main meal. People like you set a great example of balancing enjoying mundane and striving to be exceptional. And illuminate misery of "who has made it". I have experienced dangers of "striving to be exceptional" myself.

@@FranklyGaming By the way, "Trails in the sky" does not have agency (multiple choices as in Fallout, Cyberpunk or Mass effect). It can be slow phase. IMO worth trade offs for deep exploration, high detail. Forces to calm down and just concentrate on process, not "rush to finish the game to play next one".

I was suspended from work for a week when cyberpunk dropped. Of course I played it that whole week, making the choices I thought I would make if I was in V's shoes. At the end of the game I sat there in my studio apartment, alone, watching V escape night city with Panam. It made me think about some things that happened in my life recently.
me and my girl prior to that got into a argument and broke up. I couldn't tell you what we argued about, probably something dumb, but it made me realize that I made a mistake letting her go. that I needed to get up and go get her back. that the choices I made prior where not my ideal choices like I made in game. I was making choices I thought I would make in V's shoes when in reality I wasnt.
long story short me and her are back together and we are planning our life together. In the end I got my Panam.

Another great Cyberpunk 2077 video. Great job man.
I’m not here to shit on other games, as I do enjoy them, but I recently finished Horizon Zero Dawn, however I still wouldn’t be able to tell you the name of a single person in that game besides Aloy. Similarly, I’d struggle to immediately recall the names of any characters from any of Bethesda’s or Ubisoft’s games.
Yet I haven’t played any of The Witcher games in a couple years and finished my last play through of Cyberpunk 2077 over 5 months ago but can still tell you the name of every CDPR character, their hopes and dreams, the things they love and the things they hate. CDPR is truly the best when it comes to characters.

Excellent presentation on CP. The game is interesting because only if you do many playthroughs do you get to see the effects of choices made in the game. Like doing what Judy wants V to do in taking over Clouds only to find out later that the Doll Tom is dead and the Tyger Claws took back Clouds whereas if you let Maiko take over Tom doesn't die. Or if you tell Jefferson Paralez the truth he turns into a super paranoid guy, whereas if you dont he is more at peace with everything. It becomes more obvious that each choice V makes has ramifications. And there is no great choice sometimes. If you do certain things correctly you can save Pepe's marriage,...or not, ;you can save your neighbor Barry, or not, you can save Claire from having to live with killing Samson or not. Sometimes there are clear choices that help, other times the choices are not clearly better no matter what you choose.

      @mandu6665 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

So many people said your choices don't matter. They just weren't looking in the right places. People expected world sweeping changes yet the game was never, ever about that. V was never going to change Night City and the game even explicitly tells you that. All V can do is save a few people around them, maybe themself and hope for the best.

One of the moments that made me cry was the crucifixion of Stephenson.
V is send to kill the guy, and ironically is exactly what you do at the end of this side quest...
But to get there, what a ride, seeing the mother of the guy Stephenson killed angry righteous angry towards him, seeing the greedy of the producer, but at the end, you can even sympathize with the producer of the ND, seeing that even her was touched in some way by the crucifixion of the Arroyo's Jesus.
It's this small touches, subtle touches of brilliance that Cyberpunk 2077 shine brighter that any game i ever played, you can look at the reaction of the characters just by the way they look at you.
You can see their emotions through their faces...

I've been a fan of CDPR since The Witcher 1 and consider The Witcher 3 an open world rpg masterpiece. I was hyped for Cyberpunk 2077 but kept my expectations in check because I thought there was no way they could top a trilogy of games and hundreds of hours getting to know The Witcher universe characters. I couldn't have been more wrong and CDPR upped their character writing skills by a whole hell of a lot with Cyberpunk 2077. Maybe it's the more grounded setting compared to a fantasy world but this game wears its heart on its sleeve as do many of the special characters. It's packed with emotion and touched me in ways no game has ever come close to doing. The characters feel like they come from the writers hearts and souls and that's beautiful. I love this game so much.

A number of Live Service games wish they had those kinds of daily player counts!

For me.. My first run was as a Nomad Male character.. Putting most points into "Cool", but also a lot of points into other areas.. Kind of like an assassin who can use hacks, knives, sniper rifles, and craft things.. Someone who.. Does not have anything in "body" besides the regenerate health thing you can get at the start of it.. My character basically was quickly set up as I played to be someone that will show up undetected.. and either everyone is found dead, or everyone is found unconscious..Never detected. ( The few times I was I would either evade or reload. it was only a few times and those times involved the robots lol. ) I was doing every side mission as they popped up.. Before I would go onto the main mission that is.. I did.. end up finding a way to get to the other parts of the city in that save and.. It kinda caused an odd issue after they patched the way I got there lol. But I was still able to use the teleport system so it was not a game breaking moment. But almost was..
I actually kinda cared for the characters.. Not a lot of games have done that. The funny thing is I basically ended up making a sort of odd.. "Kind Assassin" character.. I was always choosing to be as good as possible to everyone. The ending I eventually went with.. Was to join the Nomad group that Panam is part of.. And yes Judy was also joining along the way.. I figured that was the best ending really. More so for the type of character I made. Its a game that deserves a lot more in my opinion.

I loved this game, when I completed it it was as a streetkid that I did a pretty good job making look just like me. I misunderstood the option I picked and I got the ending where you eat a bullet… I didn’t mean to, but as the camera pulled back from this mostly 1st person game, and showed a character that looked a lot like me- making the decision to end it- and feeling at piece with the decision and having Johnny back me up- it was something I really wasnt emotionally expecting…. Then the credits roll, hearing friends talk about me passing… it was a lot. Crazy…
I reloaded my save and played thru with Panam and saw her father figure die at the hands of Smasher. Then played thru with Rogue and saw her go out more or less the same way…
That first ending stuck with me though…. The way I ended up deciding to canonize it in my head is that those last two play through as we’re V thinking out what would happen to the ppl he had made Family if he tried this bombastic raid just to save my own skin…. And that’s when my V decided that the best option, the only real non selfish option, was to remove himself from the game. Call it a good run, cash in the chips…. And end it on his own terms. And it was preem…
One of the strongest ends of any game I’ve played. It still really hits me…

The marketing for this game was so good that it probably caused most of the backlash. CDPR told us that we were getting Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, and Fallout New Vegas all in one with a Cyberpunk theme. Then when the game launched it was buggier than Fallout 76. The thing is though, eventually the ps4 and xbox one consoles aren't going to be used anymore, performance will be good on all platforms, and updates will patch in most if not all of the things that everyone screams about on reddit. And yeah the story is great, probably equivalent to Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Panam is the best side character since Garrus Vakarian lol

Ngl, I think you could become a great Cyberpunk 2077 TH-camr. Most of the big ones ditched the game after launch, so you could definitely grow your channel on this. I know you want to be more of a variety channel with different types of videos on different games, but it might help to start off with a single game then grow your fan base off of that.

Hey dude really appreciate it and ya I actually thought about it my only problem is I’ve grinded one game and making content for it before and it makes it easier to grow but just takes all the fun out of it for me. Since I work a full time job and this isn’t something I would ever want to do full time unless I make 500k plus a year on it, I try to focus on doing what I love and working hard and making the best content I can I hope it grows

Got to say I loved the outro on this one. The voice lines in this game are superb. When I took the quick way out on my first playthrough it shook me. I'd played probably 100hrs already up to that point, doing all the side stuff I could, just falling more and more in love with the game. Collecting people I'd come to love in my memory. Then those end credits roll and I was breathless and with goosebumps and by the time it got to Judy I was in tears. I'd set myself up for that, but as soon as it was over I knew I'd play this game again and again for years. I then did the Solo run and felt Judy and everyone slip away from me as I rose to the top. And then I made a new character. A street kid. And I had him go with the Aldecaldos and finally leave the city behind. This time for good.

While I am still angry at what cdpr did to this game, I will give credit where credit is due. They absolutely nailed the story and music. Very very rarely do video games make such a touching story backed up by the some of the greatest soundtracks in gaming.
The finale where V is finally being told that there is no hope for his survival is so well written and the music elevates that by literally making you feel the sensation of doom, fear and confusion by V. And its not just that, the music with Panam when you are getting closer to her and her family, pyramid song and hell even the radio stations. I only hope they expand and improve on the few things that differentiate their game from almost every other

I've played few titles in live and only after full three parts of Mass Effect Trilogy for the first time I've felt connection to NPC's and I was authentically sad that there will be no more comments from Garrus, Wrex, Liara or Tali. The second game that made it was Cyberpunk 2077 (and who knows what future hold for this title, or maybe a series of games in this setting?). Also CP2077 was the first game I had enjoy more in my native language then in deafult english (which is in some parts is just better, but actor that is featuring Johnny Silverhand makes this character way more vibrant than Keanu Reeves).

I truly love this game. Are there a lot of bugs? Sure, but for me they weren't any worse than the average Bethesda release and there was nothing game breaking (Obsidian's The Outer Worlds actually had a game breaking bug that prevented me from finishing the story when I played it for the first time, which infuriated me a million times more than anything I encountered in Cyberpunk.) There's an incredibly powerful story with some truly amazing and unique characters here, and it saddens me that almost no one talks about them compared to all of the drama and bugs that surrounded the release. Hopefully one day people will learn to look at this game a little deeper and appreciate the beauty buried beneath the jank.
