"At will: Detect Magic, Fireball"
"At will: Fireball"
"Fireball"
yeah this would have been intimidating if we did not kill it in like 2-3 turns yeah hold monster is a good
That awkward moment when his mace deals more damage than the fireball...
Are we starting the Monster's Misguided Cinematic Universe?
That would be awesome, but the real question is: Does this take place before or after the Necromancer?
Unless I missed something (I I probably did) this video could very well happen before the Necromancer, meaning Fran... ;-;
@@rocketforthree4479 it's after, if you look closely the paladins left arm is a prosthetic
@@ponds91st You're right! Thank goodness, I like Fransisco so much. Thank you!
@@rocketforthree4479 Idk if it's her actual name in Kanekuo's script, but just as a side note, the spanish spelling is Francisca. Francisco is the male version of the name
Pit Fiend - *godzilla worthy roar*

Anya - rawr
Pit Fiend - *_shook_*
Pit Fiend - AAAAAAA AAAAAAAAHHH
Anya, smugly laughing - Why are you running?! WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?!
Kanekuo: "The pit spewed forth demons..."
The comments:
Kanekuo: "...and devils."
The comments: REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I feel like it really shouldn't piss me off as much as it does, lol
Don't they hate each other since Devil's are the epitome of law and Demons are Chaos incarnate?
@@DHTheAlaskan There is literally a millenia-long war going on between demons and devils *because* of this difference. Asmodeus, current top archdevil, was an angel in charge of fighting demonkind. It's literally in the backstory of devils that they absolutely *do not* get along with demons.
Devils also punish evil mortals after they die. Demons are straight-up on a quest to destroy all of reality and pull all of existence into the Abyss.
@@Gr33nOfGrundleburg Thanks for the lesson in lore. I truly appreciate it.
"So Anya, where should we head to next?"
"Well, there is this rumor of a Kobold King in The Wyrm's Spine..."
"Wait, you think it could be a dragon?"
"I don't know...guess we'll have to find out."
YEAH ANYA! I love how there's a story woven through this! And I love her new prosthetic arm!
"I guess the real treasure were the fiends we killed along the way..."
Francesca, probably
Loved the pacing of this episode, great job you feather-creative-boi-man!
I want to dislike this for the joke... but I cant so you get a thumbs up
@@shighguard9976 Thank you
Much like your typical hair product, I feel validated
DM: Rolls for encounters during short rest.
DM *Ok so your godess drops you a quick phone call and says "yo need you at a burning town you down? good."
DM: "Ok so now you're in a burning town with demons."
'Yeah, I know demons and devils are supposed to be kept separate'
true, but an open gate to mortal lands is an open gate, and ya know, free real estate
I personally just thought about dumping the distinction and just making em all fiends
Mostly cuz I wanted to pair em with an evil pantheon I'm working an the infighting would just make it difficult
It is specifically stated in the lore that whenever demons and devils meet anywhere, even the material plane, they drop about everything to kill each other.
@@declanellery8500
That why I I dropped that in my setting "a house devided against itself" as the saying goes especially when mine have the same job (the main goal of all fiends is to guide and inspire evil mortals to reach thier potetial so they're souls will make more powerful fiends )
Tony Danatop Could be interesting if the Demons and Devils both are in an uneasy alliance, but simultaneously on an individual level they are always looking for means of backstabbing the other.
I'm shipping them and you, nor anyone else can stop me
ah a tale as old as time. One fights for good of all life while the other has summoned the hideous monster she try to kill. The romance is as classic as Shakespeare.
Clicked as fast as I could. Let's go Kanekuo!
Every fiend gangsta until a paladin gets teleported in
wonder if Anya and Francisca are ever gonna stumble into the Kobold King on some incidental red dragon slaying
It's amazing how you manage to take what would normally be basic informational videos on D&D and the various types of monsters in it, and weave such engaging stories out of them. Can't wait to see more of this!
I WANT A COMIC OF ANYA AND FRANSISCA!
Hopefully, if they did they would make them best friends and not lovers like a lot of weird comics rely on.
@@crimsonhunter6538 are you saying that from a writing preference standpoint, or a homophobic standpoint?
Cuz I won't agree with a dick reason.
@@gaunjee4182 "From a writer's standpoint, I feel like too often now couple relationships have been to much the basis for just good human relationships. Id personally like to see more and better friendships incorporated into media. Since most 'friend' characters in art mediums just feel more like a third wheel or background character than a major deuteragonist.
Love this series
I love these videos so much. The stories are absolutely amazing
Pit fiend roars.
Paladin roared back, dominate monster cast. Dominance asserted.
Story notes:
How the Warlock and Paladin both got so high in two sessions.
Oh no... but what happens when Anya finds out. Hnk! (Amazing work as always!)
Oh shi, I wasn’t expecting Anya the paladin in this story
Doomslayer: BREATHING MENACINGLY
Man, this has become a true series.
So you’re just building a party of veteran “adventurers” wonder what class will be next then
“...the portal begin to spit forth even more demons: imps, spined and bearded DEVILS...”
@Kanekou You said more demons, they you said devils, if your not going to care about the types, then be constantly uncaring
@@sidequest2230 Yes, but in the game there *is* a pretty significant difference. And I mean, "it's a game" is also pretty insulting to Kanekuo given all the work he just made making a kickass video for it. Now, I feel like this is definitely homebrewed enough that you can waive the normal rules. But in vanilla, Devils and Demons completely hate each other, and actually their endless war with each other is a good part of the reason neither have been able to overtake the material plane. They're too busy killing each other to bring their full power to bear on the mortal realms, essentially, and if they weren't then everyone would be super fucked.
That wooden enchanted arm Anya has better have "M. Highchurch was here, see ya around kid"
wooo!
awww its already over, still great can't wait for the next one.
The fastest click in the west
Been waiting for this the moment you said "...continue in the next video..."
SO BADASS
I love your style of art mixed with storytelling! Very enjoyable, keep rocking it!
Super cool video! I love how you blend stories with DnD information with awesome illustrations to boot.
This was by far one of the best monsters misguided and well worth the wait for part 2. I can tell you put a lot of work into making the first and second part. You did an amazing job! Love the series.
Pit Fiend : "Tries to intimidate"
Anya : "UNO REVERSE CARD"
What a wondrous series! Educational and story driven. Cant wait for season 2
I really like the continued narrative! Please continue this in the next episodes.
Holy shit dude please more story's like this one 😍😍😍😲😲
Awesome first book Kan. Looking forward to book two! Keep it up!
Another great story, Kanekuo! Thank you for your hard work!
actschually, a fireball couldn't blow up his own ranks as devils are immune to fire.
This is the sort of encounters I strive to make. So dang good.
Man I love these videos, a cool story while learning about the stats and capabilities of DnD monsters, all drawn with a visually pleasing artstyle
They fucking duo-ed a balor. Nobody should mess with them. Also, I *love* the small bits of story, I want to see more of these unlikely friends!
That was the best guide/story thing whatever it was I’ve ever seen. Your art style I’ve always loved and the story worked well to describe the monster. More please :)
Hey, I watched this video when it came out four years ago, and I went out of my way to find it again. This is the most well done monster series I've seen. The illustrations are stupendous. Watching this inspires my imagination, I'll be running a hell portal based one shot for my group soon, and I'm really glad to have this as a framework.
I hope all is well with you, and I hope that you find joy in whatever you are doing now.
Your videos always make my day a little bit brighter, I love this series and the stories that come from it. Please keep up the good work!
Amazing storytelling with info segments. Nice.
Anya AND Fran as an adventuring duo? a) The MMCU is coming together nicely, and b) The next few guests of Monsters Misguided won't know what hit them!
Great vid, Kanekou, but slow down, man! One birb can only do so much!
There is something about a human scaring the absolute crap out of a devil with a roar that makes me smile.
Awesome video man! Some of your best yet. Keep up the hard work!
Pit Fiend: *Is using mace as their exclusive weapon*
Me, making purified pit fiend: I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see that
Heck yeah, more Kanekuo! It's a crime he's only got 75k subs.
Expectation: The horde of hellspawn realistically wreaking havoc and destroying everything. Killing the two with the sheer mass of numbers.
Reality: Girls save the day with bullshit dice rolls. Shonen anime style.
You have the BEST visuals EVER!!! No seriusly, I love you illustration. And as I'm an artist it means something :) This is great. Thank you for sharing this.
Fran is going to repent but still be a warlock. A celestial warlock!!
All they really needed was a pair of Elvaran (Zarvanian Elves), with one being a Wizard, and one being a Cleric. Both of them in service of THE LORD.
I cannot begin to express how much I love this series! Thank you!!!
now this is a fcking amazing way of introducing a foe, quickly laying out the main stats was very nice and expanding it over the course of the strory. the draws and the music make me feel like i was there to witness the fight myself.
honestly fanstic work my friend. well done, i'm looking forward to more!
maybe you can tell us about characters of your, stories or an idea you had for a character but never really had come to life
This is an amazing story. Great episodes
Terrifying monster from the pits of hell: *roars*
Anya: *yells back*
Monster: oh shit-
That was very well done, excellent job mr artist! Hopefully we can all sit down and appreciate the amazing art with captivating storytelling.
I love these so much, I just get so caught up in the story I forget it's educational as well, well done sir
I always look forward to watching these videos! I love the way theyre told, the artstyle, and the characters so much! Plus, learning about new monsters is always a lot of fun!
Thank you !!
Also I am, in love with this. An amazing story in two parts, i love the detail of the wooden prosthetic arm, and cynically i love this shows off how powerful palladins can be, haha. I can't wait for further chapters of this.
Funny story. My dad plays AD&D 2e with some of his buddies. During one of their sessions, the party had an encounter with tree pit fiends. They killed too of them and one of the party members cast a charm spell on the third. This basically caused the third pit fiend to become her servant for the next in game year.
Exellent narration and the way the info is spread into the story, helpful and entertaining all through
I loved this episodic series of videos you did. It was highly entertaining and I loved the story.
Can’t wait to hear more about these characters!
Devils and demons fighting side by side. Asmodeus must be doing goddamn cartwheels of rage in Nessus.
Totally epic! This would a great way to introduce characters on session one.
This is a wonderful story, but we should all agree that two adventurers. One of which is powerless at the moment would never be able to stop an entire army of demons by themselves. If their tactics were just hack and slash they'd be over run, especially if the general itself is as strong as the paladin. I like to think this is the last happy memory that was going through the paladin's head as she got for lack of a more polite term for the hell she was about to go through, demoned.
I loved this! Very good art and story, and an unexpected crossover I now very much want to see the rest
of! Also Anya in general is very good, just, there she go! Not giving any fucks and being a wonderful badass!
The begining actually gave chills. I feel like the trop of the defeatd protag being cornered and being saved is very commun but fuck if it isn't effectif
I was so surprised to see Anya, that was awesome!
Love the creativity in the delivery of the information in this video!
So...from now these two are going to be the characters for all your Monsters, Misguided episodes right? RIGHT!? Because this story NEEDS to continue. I NEED IT!!! (also you are awesome, and I love you.)
I bet that poor pit fiend was there to help against the demons, and those uneducated murderhobos mistook it for a demon too, and attacked. Outraged, the being stroke back instead of calmly make those fools realize it was on their side.
You’ve earned this Patron ♥️😭 Love your work so much!!
I really love how all your stories are tied together
You're really good at inserting information into stories, I really like your videos
YUSSSSSSS! frickin chills my dude! way to tell an epic story and teach a bit at the same time!
GLAD TO SEE ANYA BACK! I'm all for a Fran redemption arc!
This was a wonderful story. Both informative and entertaining! Keep up the great work!
That was amazing fantastic job not many stories can give me a lasting impact and in two episodes just astounding
^_^
That always sets up a great president for some complicated lovely stories.
^_^
I've had several campaigns where one simple secret was all that stood between good friends trying to kill each other.
It's an emotional roller coaster and makes for amazing deep Beautiful Stories.
I'm all in on this awesome Kanekuo lore.
damn this was a fine arc. didn't expect anya to show up at all! congrats on the well made series
this was awesome, i hope to see more storys like this, you do amazing work
I rarely clap after a youtube video, good job and story
And with so, Francisca finally had someone to call her _Paca_
I like this series because it's educational and fun!
Damn that was a good story and informative! ** Stands up starts clapping** Beautiful
I discovered this series and channel yesterday! I binged them all and just love it!!
Dang that was awesome, thanks for the cool watch. Excellent narrating.
this was great. Now time for the Kobold king and his small army to help these two. Also love your art style.
Give us the Anya Adventures series! We want it and I need it!
DM: +100 more demon attack the city.
Player: I am a Palading/Cleric.
DM: .... .... Pit Fiend Joins the battle!!!
Since the description flew under the radar: I'm not making videos in the Forgotten Realms setting or any setting other than my own, thus I left the Blood War lore at the door.
As long as the stats I'm going over are intact and accurate, I don't feel the need to hold myself to a published setting.
Many expect that of these videos since they're simply covering Dungeons and Dragons and that's silly.
Pin this if you want people to see it
I honestly prefer that. Seeing original settings and how people incorporate various d&d ideas into them is a lot of fun and a lot more friendly to most everyone involved.
Can you do one on the demogorgon?
You actually did really well, Forgotten Realms wise. Although you mixed up calling them demons, they were all devils except for the Gehenna fiend from part 1. Devils are also more likely to use these tactics, so well done!
I can see why. I love the blood war, but I have difficulties making devils bad guys in my campaign, since they're essentially the "good guys" of the blood war
