- In celebration of the Metroid 30th Anniversary, here is a new track- the final battle between Samus and Metroid Prime. If you want to hear more like this, please check out my Metroid Cinematica album!
Based on the music of Metroid Prime by Kenji Yamamoto, thanks for listening! www.samostudios...
Was a pleasure to sing for this track, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to get involved in celebrating the 30th anniversary!
This is an amazing response, thank you so much! Sam really made my vocals shine. I'd love to work with others, so feel free to contact me with opportunities!
Your profile has the same meme as mine :)
Were you the voice that sounded like Hank Hill?
I like your PFP, G
Best aspect of the series is how Dark Samus is Metroid Prime reincarnate. A hyper evolved metroid that assumed the form of the only corporeal entity capable of defeating it. And so the final boss of every Metroid Prime game is, in fact, Metroid Prime.
well most metroid games and mangas include some doppelgangers of samus (and even her ennemies have some), or strong parallels between characters.
Bullshit
@@yeshuafighter459 It's not bs, after defeating the Metroid Prime, it steals Samus' Phazon suit and in the after credits scene it's seen that it comes back as Dark Samus
@@yeshuafighter459 the secret ending of Metroid prime when you collect all the stuff
@@TeamDragoonX Also even if you didn't got it, you can see this in Trilogy extra content.
Such a primal and ominous energy is infused in this song. Epic as always, Mr. Dillard.
This belongs in a goddamn Metroid movie
The Samus whispers are awesome.
Hehe thanks, those are actually courtesy of my friend Darren, who directed the Harmony Of A Hunter albums. I wanted this track to feel like it was teeming with psychic energy from Prime so I thought it would be cool if these whispery thoughts were leaking out, so I enlisted him for some vocals!
Well, they creep me out in the best way!
I have that effect on people
You never cease to amaze me Sam. I hope this is available in iTunes. I already have your first album and hope you continue to devote your passion in Metroid's direction!
Thank you! Though I am running out of notable Metroid material to cover since I've done a lot of it already hehe. I'm not sure if it will get on iTunes as I'm starting to reserve downloads of many of my songs for people on my Patreon page as a show of thanks for supporting my work
I hope your not planning to dump your ITunes / Google play customers in favor of this Patreon site.. :-(
+SamoStudios well let me put it this way, Sam, i went to iTunes and listened to the rest of your work, and it sounds amazing as well, so I bought it. Haha I love this kind of epic sounding music period, i appreciate the effort you put into your work, so whether it'd be Metroid related, or not, your masterpieces are worth buying. Plus, it's not the end of Metroid, as new music follows, I'd hope will too.
After licensing fees & royalties, and then vendors like iTunes and etc taking their own cut on top of that, I get almost nothing out of my work being on those sites to be honest, and even then it takes several months to receive any sales. Going through Loudr.fm works out a lot better for me, at least it is monthly. The main thing is, I always release full albums via all the popular music sites, but single tracks aren't really worth it. However, I put it on TH-cam so everyone can listen to it either way. Patreon provides not only an interactive community with supporters, but a stable monthly income. With iTunes, months go by without anything at all, and there's no way of tracking sales income so I never know what to expect and it's not very much. These sites are great for popular high-volume artists, which I am certainly not.
So as a token of gratitude to those on Patreon helping me out, I give out my albums as well as individual track downloads. Which again, are often free to listen on TH-cam. But, at some point, I'll bundle related new tracks together and release album collections, which will be on the main music stores.
As much as i love the Prime title theme being remixed as a final boss in the orginal, if there was a third phase to Metroid prime, then second half of the remix presented here should be what’s playing in the background 😭.
I keep coming back to this video just imagine that scenario. Even your old work is still absolutely wonderful to hear again.
Your music never fails to disappoint. This is some of your finest work, and all of your work is amazing.
This is so fucking dope. You have no idea how much I love this
This sounds like something that would play for a cinematic trailer of a huge Metroid game.
LITERAL CHILLS BRO! Picture this as the final boss theme in Metroid Prime 4
If the battle against Samus had been a real fight in Federation Force, this would've been a great theme for it.
I don't think I can properly express my love for this track, the bit from 2:16-3:10 is particularly masterful. You've outdone yourself.
The vocals are amazing! This is very well made!
For some reason, I see a bit of story playing out in my head when I hear this music, in a manner that mirrors the final bosses of Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion.
At 2:16, the Metroid Prime has overpowered Samus and is about to kill her. But suddenly, at 2:31, a ball of light hits the Metroid Prime and briefly stuns it, freeing Samus from its grasp. Reeling, Samus looks up to see where the attack came from. And then, at 2:44, she sees the Chozo Ghosts that haunted her throughout their temple ruins, now having regained just enough of their sanity and identity to remember their true purpose for lingering after death: to end the Great Poison, the Metroid Prime itself. The Chozo Ghosts continue to attack the Metroid Prime, but by 3:10, the Metroid Prime has defeated them and turns its attention back to fighting Samus. Finally, at 3:41, Samus remembers the fallen Chozo and is empowered by their memory and sacrifice, finding the strength to ultimately vanquish the Metroid Prime.
Sounds like a lame fanfic, I know, but it's the mental image that this song gives me. I just love that vocal rendition of the credits theme.
This is an awesome first thing to Listen/Watch on youtube after just getting done playing and beating AM2R(Another Metroid 2 Remake) and yes twas AMAZING just like this awesome work as ever and Happy 30th Metroid Anniversary my friend
I can't belive that metroid is already 30 years old, and also the remix is amazing , I really love your compositions. keep the godlike work keep coming :3
can't believe it??? thair games are few and far between!!! neglected and left for dead!!! that's why so many don't get the new nintendon't systems! and then the wiiu piece of trash came out, even LESS remained!!! nintendon't has a death wish! like their walking a$$ backwards on eggmans flying fortress! ready to get SHOT IN THE BACK!!! JUST LIKE SPAMUS OF OTHER MOTHER FÜÇKËR!!!!!¡!!¡!;!¡!!
This is better than some of the amazing ingame tracks. Thank you for making this!!
A video like this absolutely deserves more views than any of the videos on my channel. Even the ones with more views than this. Cause this is spectacular
Thanks I'm glad you like it!
This is AMAZING. I’m so glad to have heard this.
This is just too good.
I recently played Metroid prime 3 again and used this music over the final boss, and the boss was elevated from a disappointment to LEGENDARY. Goes to show that music is everything doesnt it?
Brilliantly done. this should have been in the game lol
broke my like button...
Imagine if Metroid Prime 1 & 2 ever gets a remake.
I wouldnt call them a remake. Its just the same game for the Wii.
ProjectEsia
Well I actually dont know. The Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Omega Ruby Games just came in my mind and this is more of a remake.
480p... which is the same as GameCube.
I agree. there's nothing to improve upon as well. the crap controls were fixed in prime trilogy. the Wii was made for prime. the wiiu was made for watching TV which you can do without the wiiu lmao.
RStaR RaptoR
Are you trying to say the Gamecube had crab controls?
This is amazing!
Impressive work, as always!
Whoa that gives me chills damn 😮
Amazing!! :D
Lets Talk, Metroid so what is your favourite metroid game???
need
to
buy
please
This theme feels like the perfect blend of Halo and Metroid music wise.
Amazing
Soooo cool!
played this in the final fight against the essence form of the prime metroid, beat the boss in less time than there is in this remix.
Akari Enderwolf try it again on hard mode. It takes a good amount of time
Amy v. Gaming
I'd have to check what mode I played on. I don't remember if it was normal or hard.
2:30 is the actual essence fight theme, the rest is its armor phase theme.
You must have been planning some reveals for awhile. This is almost 50 minutes worth in about a weeks time.
I tend to be pretty slow at releasing material since I have to devote most of my time to trying to make some income, so when I get time I usually work on everything at once. I wanted to release my XenoCross album at the start of the year actually, but just wasn't able to finish it until recently.
This would be metroid primes theme if he was in other M
Excellent.
Holy shit, this is amazing!
Awesome. :)
How to "ruin" the song: think about Hank Hill saying "bwah" while listening to the male singer.
Void Vagabond
.....omg
Bro...
You've enhanced my experience
This was beautiful thank you for opening my eyes/ears 😂
...well, I suppose that's what I get for looking at the comments before the video is done buffering.
What the Aurora Unit 313 theme should have been tbh. I remember feeling let down by the music choice during the finale of the trilogy, and remembered this theme long after. Not disappointed.
Absolute prime
I hope prime trilogy get remastered
Sounds like Metroid meets Tomb Raider Legend
0:18 first half
2:31 second half
Once upon a time, a Hunter fought the Metroid. Then, she met a Metroid which stole an aspect of herself. The Metroid became HER, except corrupted and dark. The Metroid BECAME a Hunter too. As a demon, it unleashed impending doom upon the galaxy, having turned into the Hunter themselves. But, as a demon, it was eventually defeated, by that Hunter.
Then, once upon a later time, a Hunter sought, and was infected, but saved. And so, the Hunter BECAME a Metroid. But this time, it was not a demon, but a Hero. This time, the Metroid was a savior. Just like a legendary entity known as Razgriz (in another setting). The first time it rose as a demon. But the second, it rose as a hero.
Now, having become the very thing she once sought to destroy, the Hunter now guards us all from the X, and perhaps even far more horrendous existences.
Will you ever consider making an extended loop of this track?
would help if you included the particular song(s) used for this remix in the description
*yes*
Since you somehow use a computer and not a full orchestra to do all this, how long does it take you to compose a single track?
For a complex song, I've spent several weeks working on a track before. Because I am self-taught I don't really know much about orchestration theory so I often experiment for a while to figure out what sounds best, and also the fact that it takes forever to load up all the instruments and the computer often crashes in the middle of working really slows things down. But that's getting better since I've finally been able to afford better parts to build a good PC and get newer software since for years I was using pretty old stuff.
Do you have a download or a purchase link?
At the moment a download of it is available on my page here patreon.com/samostudios
So do I have to pay for this patreon thing or could I just like pay you $2 or something for just the song?
Sound like something that could be in xenoblade chronicles x
It sounds SO much like The Matrix!
Ya know...
How are they coming out with Metroid Prime 4 if Dark Samus died in 3?
Unless she is like the freaking Sa-X and can asexually reproduce... then darnit! There are like... 10 of these things in the universe!
Bon Bunny she also died in the second game and well she was back for prime 3
The baby metroid that Silux has is going to be the new prime i guess
It's stated in Prime 2 that Dark Samus cannot be destroyed, even beyond the subatomic level. This basically hints that Dark Samus may in fact be immortal as Phazon is only capable of disrupting her, not killing her completely.
However, there's still a lot of plotholes involving phazon, such as red phazon itself (which only appeared in Tallon IV's Impact Crater), the origins of the leviathan and Metroid Prime itself from Prime 1 (since both of their characteristics are unique from other leviathans and other Metroids), the true nature of phazon's origins (as Phaaze couldn't possibly be the only true origin of Phazon when talking about the vastness of the entire universe in existence), Phaaze's vague explanation on its true origins (as Phaaze could've been another ordinary planet that suffered total phazon corruption; a fate that would've affected Tallon IV if it wasn't for Samus' efforts), etc.
In conclusion, it would still make sense to bring back Dark Samus once more as not only will they explain some of the vague details about phazon itself, but it would also be interesting if we see her not only as a blue phazon-like creature, but as a red phazon-like creature, decaying as time goes on, becoming almost twice as powerful as she was before, since red phazon is apparently 86% more potent than blue phazon. If red phazon still exists and is able to be used as a weapon, red phazon could potentially destroy Dark Samus for good as it is much more unstable than the properties of blue phazon. This is all a mere theory, but I just wanted to express how it would make sense to make her come back once more.
If anything, the Metroid hatched by Sylux in Prime Federation could be the next Metroid Prime like @Steve said, but with phazon's origins still being vague, I doubt Sylux would even know anything about phazon experimentation, unless a group of rogue Space Pirates have taught him a thing or two about it. Not to mention he'll need vast amounts of phazon (or a phazon core itself) to make it turn into a Metroid Prime.
Ehm, ALL phazon is gone, there's no way that dark samus survived
gives me a bit of a dark souls vibe...
as a big souls player I think it's more a tw3 vibe.
why do people do that
i have no idea what you're talking about
tw3 = the witcher 3.
Heredia Herodians
Sounds like Insidious from Bayonetta 2.
I like your stuff man but this sounds nothing like the theme even for a remix it more sounds like something out of Halo
Sounds generic and bombastic, like every modern movie score.
he probably went almost full symphonic for the parts that are also used in the other metroid prime battle themes as he already remixed it in corrupted souls using metroid instruments, but everything else is really good, it just lacks those phazon crackles on top of it to be complete.
