Rikugien - Japanese Garden, Tokyo ᴴᴰ ● 六義園 (Extended Version)

- ► Rikugien is a typical Japanese landscape garden from the Edo period. It was founded in 1702, and today it is maintained and kept by Tokyo Metroplitan Park Administration. It's a great escape from the action and noise of Tokyo when needed, and a perfect place to go for a picnic. It's located nearby Komagome Station, 18 minutes from Shinjuku Station by Yamanote Line.
I posted a much shorter video of Rikugien Garden one year ago, but as a few people asked to see a bit more of this place, I decided to make a new and longer version of it. So, here it is....

Inviting me to visit this Japanese landscape garden from the Edo period is like seducing me. I have a fascination for the (especially the 19th century) Edo period and the idea that one of my favourite painters from that era, Ando Hiroshige, has walked there, enjoying the beauty of this place, gives me the thrill to walk the same path, in his footsteps. A nice little retreat into nature. So many shots where nature blended in in such a way that one could easily leave all else behind.

Probably the best example how an Edo garden should look like. I'm always impressed by this rich amount of details in comparison with its space. Really lovely and relaxing impressions, especially the last two scenes are just awesome! Thank you for sharing. :)

Japanese gardens are exquisite. Some of the ones attached to hotels like the Chinzan So one in Ikebukuro are so nice to stroll through.

Not very big but quite nice. I stayed at the hotel a couple of times and enjoyed the gardens after a good meal.
