    That’s a great invention, I love how it’s not a permanent structure and it’s so simple. That way I can easily put anything in my truck whether big or small and adjust the device. Everything else I’ve been looking at today is permanent and takes up all the space in the back or requires that I damage my truck bed. That’s awesome, I’m excited to try it.

    This is perfect. Husband and I recently decided to use the Silverado for our family vehicle and get rid of my car payment. Needed something like this to be able to get the stroller and/or groceries in and out of the bed easily. Thanks so much! Will definitely be looking into this further.

    I put a couple more hooks on the inside side , hooked two bungees across and bought a Christmas tree storage tote from Walmart and put that in there . Holds whatever you want ! I’ve got straps , tie downs , and assorted stuff in it and can still put groceries and other purchases in it . When I’ve got to haul , undo the bungees take out the tote .

    There are plenty of trucks that don’t have slots for 2x 4’s are you kidding me!
    This is a great invention. And just FYI, if you have a plastic liner in your truck with the slots, that just keeps things from moving to the front. It’s still going side to side and/or under the board when you hit a bump.

    I like this idea! I am sorry you have to listen to so many people talk about "oh, I will just get a piece of lumber". To those people, if your piece of lumber is working so great, why are you watching and looking for other ideas???? You pay for what you get. Go and compare this price to other ideas for truck beds and you will see it is comparable. If you want it cheaper, buy from China and then turn around in a year and buy another one because it broke. Get real people!!

    There's a slot in the bed liner where a 2 x 8 will slide in and do the same thing for about 6 bucks. I've got one in my bed and have used it without a single failure in 10 years.

    • @truckbedslidestop9150
      @truckbedslidestop9150  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Hi Dan - I'm glad you found something that works for you. I've seen similar comments on this video about using a 2x8 or something similar, and I wanted to take a minute to talk about it.
      I've driven trucks most of my life, and I've used this board 'trick'. It's one of the reasons I invented the Truck Bed Slide Stop. I found that a few of the down sides of using a 2x8 are:
      1. You've gotta figure out what to do with the board when you need the full length of your truck back. It's not usually a good idea to leave in the bed, since it can slide around. You can take it out and store it somewhere, but that's not always ideal, especially if you're in a rush and don't want to fool with it.
      2. If you've got a slippery bed cover, that board will keep your stuff contained to an area, but won't necessarily keep stuff from sliding around.
      3. Some truck bed liners don't have the cutouts/indentations that you're talking about.
      4. If you've got a nice truck bed, you might want to avoid unnecessary scratches and dings that will happen when you use this board method.
      5. Using a 2x8 in those indentations/slots gives you a fixed area to put stuff without a whole lot of flexibility.
      I know The Truck Bed Slide Stop won't necessarily be for everybody, but it definitely addresses some of the issues and inconveniences that come with using this board. Thanks for taking a look. I really do appreciate the feedback.

      @@truckbedslidestop9150 interesting response, I've been driving trucks for over 35 years and can't say any of those concerns have ever made me wish for something more than the board divider. It's a neat idea, but way over priced for the function it provides.

      @@truckbedslidestop9150 The simple fact is that trucks have had the slots for the 2 x's longer than they have had the hooks in the corners upon which your design is based. The slide-in liner for my late 80's and early 90's trucks had these slots. Stamped in slots from the manufacturers started appearing in the late 90's, In my world I did not see the hooks until the early 2000's; so you really cannot say that "all" trucks have these hooks. As for the slippery liners, the only time I had a problem was in 1987 when I climbed into a wet bed barefoot. Still got the scars, like stepping on a bar of soap on a glazed tile floor.

      Im guessing a trip to Tap Plastics or the like would be a great alternative, to make a knock-off of this. Spray with some rubberized coating of some sort, buy some turnbuckles, and a piano hinge, and booyah!

  • @f5fstop
    @f5fstop 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That spray in liner from the factory or added afterward is slippery and allows everything to slide around. However, just get a thick rubber mat and believe me, nothing slides around on that, but it does make it a bit harder to push something up toward the front. But also have one of those Keeper adjustable ratchet bars use to stop anything larger and can be used to push items around. This is item is not for me, but others might find it helpful.

    At 2:37 you can see a vertical indent in the side of the truck bed between the red loop and the fender. All trucks have them. That is made to fit a standard 2x4,, 2x6 ,8,10 or 12, 2x anything. You just cut it to length across the bed of your truck and drop it in the slot, done. If you don't need it, just lift it out.
    That is a lot cheaper than 185 dollars for this piece of plastic that someone is likely to steal.

      There's a tab that fits between the truck and the tailgate. That holds it in place when it's lying flat. Thanks for the question! Let me know if you have any others. -Mike (truckbedslidestop.com)

      Works great until you want full use of your bed, and you've got to take it out or have a 2x8 sliding around. But it's good that you've found something that works for you. Thanks for watching my video!

    Does nobody realize, that on Ford's at least, there's 2 indents on each side of the bed?
    Its meant to jam a 2x10 or bigger on edge in there to divide the bed lol

      Some truck beds and truck bed liners don't have the slots/indentations you're talking about. Also, the board will divide the bed, but may not necessarily keep crap from sliding around. I used the board trick for a long time before inventing the Truck Bed Slide Stop, so I'm familiar with the advantages/disadvantages. If you've got any questions, I'm happy to answer them. Thanks for the feedback and for watching the video. Have a good one!

    As other viewers have already said, there are indentations that are there from the mfgr. I just used an old piece of 2x8 cut to length to place in the indentations and it prevents crap from sliding forward into the bed. Free-Ninety Nine, you can even paint it black like I did with leftover spray paint to match the bed.

    • @truckbedslidestop9150

      Thanks for the comment. One thing I've found is that not all truck beds or truck bed liners are equipped with the indentations you're talking about. I've driven trucks most of my life, and I've used the board 'trick' among others, and it's one of the reasons I came up with the idea for the Truck Bed Slide Stop. There are several other downfalls and inconveniences that I found with the board (stuff will still slide around, it can scratch or ding your bed, and it's not convenient to take in and out - especially if you're in a hurry and don't wanna fool with it, etc, etc). I appreciate you taking a look, though. If you've got any other questions or comments, I'd be glad to talk to you about it. Give me a call anytime. Thanks, Mike (www.truckbedslidestop.com)

    $250? I just use ratcheting load bars from Tractor Supply at $25. Don’t think that carpet tail will stop the assembly from sliding with something heavy on it like a bundle of roofing shingles. Also the top face has protruding screw heads that would scratch paneling or other finished materials. It may lay flat but it’s not flush.

    • @truckbedslidestop9150
      @truckbedslidestop9150  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad you found something that works for your purposes and your budget, Peter. On the Truck Bed Slide Stop, they're not "protruding screw heads" but two small, smooth finish hooks, and would be unlikely to scratch anything you put on top of it, but you're right, there's about less than an inch where it doesn't lay completely flat. For most applications, this isn't an issue, and the wise user would be able to easily remove the slide stop from the truck bed before loading delicate or finished materials if there was a concern. Thanks for the feedback. Let me know if you have any questions.

      The price includes shipping within the continental US (it's bulky and fairly weighty) And even though it looks like a simple build, it's not made with cheap materials. It took you 2 years to develop two boards with a hinge? And by the way, what holds this thing in place when you slide long stuff in the bed over top of it since nothing hold it in place but a piece of carpet Jammed into the closed tailgate.
