Nikolai and Alina were around each other for 2/3 books of SaB. The romance between Zoya and Nikolai began only in KoS.
So it's normal the series takes the time to tell this alliance / relationship first and then leads to Zoyalai. Season 3 will have elements of RAR and KOS. I have no doubt they will tell the story of Zoya and Nikolai x) But they also can't junk the story of Alina and her relationship with Nikolai. It was important for both of them and important also to show how important Zoya will be for Nikolai. There is a time for everything, don't worry, Zoyalai will happened.

I started reading KoS out of curiosity like two days ago after watching S2, and this is exactly what I needed to come across. I'm gonna rewatch it a thousand times until we get to see these two get together on screen (fingers crossed)

THANK YOU FOR THIS, I am desperate for some zoyalai content after finishing s2! This edit is wonderful, I loved the voiceovers from the books and the final scene where Nikolai announces his engagement to Alina broke my heart - but it is also what I hope to see in the next season, hoping there will be one and especially that we will get some good pining between these two.
