I've said and commented on the A-10 that is worthy of praise as a mighty tool of our military men. Its awesome and never should be left out of our arsenal. A beauty.
Close Air Support (CAS) is near and dear to every infantryman who has been in combat. In Vietnam with my M-16 I felt like a helpless little boy against a bunch of bullies. The Huey gunships and Cobras were like my big brother coming to take care of those scary bullies. Thank God for big brothers who protect you.
I went to Army flight school in 1986 from the 82nd Airborne Infantry division. Is a warrant officer I got the chance to fly the s model which had the 7.62 mm minigun and the 40 mm grenade launcher. These were Vietnam era birds and I got to say while sitting in the front seat that little minigun spits out so much ammo it looks like you're pissing fire. Then we upgraded to the F model cobra with a 20 mm about a year into my tour with the 25th Infantry division. Slower rate of fire but the bullets will penetrate pretty much everything but tanks. It irks me when I keep hearing for some weird reason that the a10s gun is not penetrating main battle tanks. I find that astoundingly difficult to believe when you look at what these weapons will do. I doubt there's anything on the planet that can survive a strike from a warthog. I love that plane, it's the only one that I'd like to fly other than the cobras. Hell, they can take out a Transformer.
TO DO YOU ONE BETTER WHEN i LIVED ON LONG ISLAND NEW YORK, I HAD THE HONOR OF WORKING FOR FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC WHO BUILT THE A-10. I INSTALLED THE HYDRUALIC SYSTEM, PITOT STATIC AND MANY OTHER ITEMS ON THIS AIRCRAFT. THIS AIRCRAFT IS THE IMBODYMENT OF COUNTLESS HOURS OF WORK TO SAVE LIFES OF OUR HERO'S. I WAS TRULY HONORED TO BE PICKED TO WORK ON THIS AMAZING GROUND SUPPORT MACHINE.
The narrator obviously does not know the difference between a round and a projectile. The whole round does not leave the muzzle or contribute to the impact energy.
Over the years, In trying to eliminate the A-10 from the arsenal of weapons, the Air Force has run up against some simple but very and stiff resistance from all sides. They've tried. slow speed, lack of technoligically using simple cost concerns, . Primarily --- Because the A-10 works much too well for its designed role !! But not ALL it's roles The a-10 doesn't fit the "Glamour Role" fostered by the US Air Force -- it's not Sleek (look at the profile), it's not Fast (no MACH anything over 0.6 here), it's not Stealthy ((radar cross-section of a phone booth), "Bleeding Edge" of technology (why upgrade when you can replace it and spend LOTS MORE MONEY), and 'Oh, that Look' -- The Old adage says, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.", and the properly named "A-10 Warthog" can't be looked at from the top in flight or on the ground face-on, NO SIR!! But when a grunt looks up at an A-10's Underbelly from the ground and sees smoke coming from rotary canon, it's a sight reminiscent of seeing a new child for the first time !! And in many cases, it represents the Grunt's re-birth to fight another day. EVEN LONGER-LIVE-THE-A-10!!!!! DH, SGM, USA (ret)
Thank you so much for this amazing video! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
The entire concept of "close air support" is all but dead in this modern age, where anti-aircraft technology and capabilities are so advanced, mobile, and ubiquitous. Russia can't even get anywhere NEAR the battle zone with it's best jet fighters. How can u expect these lumbering, slow moving aircraft to do any better at surviving?

God bless the IDF!
I was an Observer Controller at Ft.Irwin from ‘84 to’86 , I watched the A-10 in attack runs , this is one bad ass plane.
Looking up, that whistle overhead, the 'burp', then the steep turn away always made you feel safe. A-10 what a girl!
Thanks!
