    I’m loving it in how your teaching to paint for beginners like me 😃 Can’t keep sipping like you do or I’ll definitely mess up something...lol 😂 Can’t wait to start on one of these as soon as I gather my supplies. Keep painting those landscaping types since they open up my home & mood during these trying times. May you & your love ones take care and stay safe!

    When I painted my creek, I didn’t like it. So I let it dry and repainted it. It looked about the same, so I left it. After I got my bridge, grass and flowers done, I thought the water looked good! I was pleasantly surprised

    Michelle, what kind of bristle brush do you use in all of your paintings? I bought a "cheap pack" of bristle brushes and they're not to good. Lol would a hogs bristle brush be better.? Could you give me a recommendation on what I can get at hobby lobby or Michael's?

      Btw I love all your paintings, I'm on #6 of your paintings! I've done the Christmas cow, snowman, birdhouse w Robbins, flag sunset and working on the covered bridge w the stream & flowers ohhhh and the skull one! Love them all! Thank you sooo much!

      Hi Joe, I'm happy that you're enjoying the videos! The brushes I use are actually not the most expensive ones either, but I like the affects that I can achieve with them. I sell them on my website (link below). Have fun painting! ~Michelle berkshirepaintandsip.squarespace.com/config/

    • @michellethepainter.

      Hi Marie, When you hear the term "bristle brush" it is typically referring to a firm natural hair brush, like hog bristles. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks, Michelle

    Just completed doing this painting and it was fun. Thank you for sharing this with us. The only problem I had was deciding on a substitute for "fire red", as I could not find this in my area. I used Cad red deep and it worked fine for me. I'm moved to SC from Massachusetts over 30 years ago and loved the covered bridges and the Berkshires.

    After your done painting all your pictures how do you wash your brushes that don't ruin your bristles.? How do you keep your bristles so nice?

    • @michellethepainter.
      @michellethepainter.  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anita, I usually just wash them in water, but if they need some extra cleaning, I will use dish soap. The trick is to make sure you get all of the paint out of between the bristles. I hope this helps. Have fun painting! ~Michelle

    I wish I was better at getting depth to my paintings. I so love doing your paintings. On this one I had a very hard time getting my bridge looking like it was over the water. Totally me! You are an awesome teacher! I just cannot grasp the knack of doing it. Thanks for your videos. They are my sanity evenings right now! I watch then rewatch to paint the picture. Had a wonderful evening with my daughter while we painted this evening!

Maybe I was over working it or had too much paint? I'm going to try that grass technique again for practice. I always enjoy your videos and learn a lot every time!

    Love your painting tutorials but I do have one question? How do you prime the canvas before starting? Thank you !

    • @michellethepainter.
      @michellethepainter.  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Morning Susan, Most canvasses that you buy from the store these days, or online, are already primed when you buy them. In my videos, I'm using canvas that is pre-primed when I by it, so I don't do anything additional to it. If you are purchasing raw canvas, than you will want to put a layer of primer on the side that you want to paint on. There is a product called Gesso, that is specifically designed to be a good adhesion primer for art canvasses. If the canvas you have is white on one side and tan on the other side, than it is already pre-primed, if it is tan on both sides than it is raw. I hope this info helps. Have fun painting! ~Michelle
