I'm still pissed he's gone...he had just gotten his life together and was preparing to work on a new album. For me, other bands come and go but Type O always spoke to me, helped me through high school and got me through most of my adult life
Elliot, i think thats the riddle to life. as soon as you quit the bad stuff, you get ill. i think about it alot. i know what you mean brother. take care 👍💚
I went to his Grave just yesterday there is now a Pic of him and sympathy stone and a giant rosery bead chain but instead of beads it was flowers it was absolutely beautiful thank you for helping visit him and I came to figure out that he is buried in the same Cemetary as My Great-Grandmother Thank You So Much 💜
I had the opportunity to have known Peter I saw him a lot on Friday nights at Duffs Willamsburg Brooklyn the Late night talks me him n LA (Lorieann Williams) bar tender. He was one of the most down to n intelligent guys youd meet. Never forget about 430 am him getting on his motorcycle heading to the Pocanos home. I said Peter get a room. Says in that deep voice, Ill be alright. God 8 years has past. Sorry I missed his tribute at Duffs this week end. See on the other side Peter...
I wasn't expecting to react so emotionally to this video. It gave me chills. How quiet and final looking at his grave. He really is gone. Damn this is heartbreaking. That beautiful man and that's all that's left? A few TON souvenirs for a life that meant so much to so many. Damn life sucks.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I will say Pete definitely left more than that in this world, what you see here is just what those of us have left for HIM. Even still, the small trinkets at his headstone are but a tiny sample from the few people who have had a chance to visit. The music and genius behind the man is eternal!! (And obvious by how many have viewed even this small memento I made, let alone the millions that the band's videos and songs have generated :D) He and TON will live forever, of that there is no doubt.
You're so right. He definitely left behind so much more, but just thinking about him as a person he deserves more than just a headstone. It doesn't capture how important he was in this life, how much good he brought and how much the world is missing with him gone.
I kinda wanna leave a bottle of astroglide and some magnums there as a goof you know? We're all sad about him dying but if there's anything we can learn from his body of work, is to have a sense of humor about it.
He was just beautiful absolutely beautiful to behold a very handsome and highly creative and intriguing musical genius beloved and missed by so many . He is greatly missed and grieved so beyond words can express. Fly high Peter ♥️💌😢
I met Peter in Germany in the middle 90`s. Got an autograph on shirt and also on the concert ticket with Tiamat (whole band) on Aladin - Bremen - Germany. He invated us (2) to come into the tour bus to to the next appearances ... We couldn`t, because we where in the german army at this time... Man, this whas a great meeting!
What a sadness!.. i'd like to go there and put a red beautiful rose to him... He reminded me my last boyfriend, the same beautiful soul, the way to joke...and his problems with drug and alcol. Everytime i see Peter,it's a cutting knife on my heart for him and for my boy ( died him too)... I've lost two loves of my life. But memories are always into my heart. I hope they are really in piece, now.❤️😪
Rip peter.its 2021 and still listening...dont plan on stopping either. Those songs meant a big deal to me. I'm grateful that you brought us some music. Late night blasting thru the highway with type o playing. Saw you at ozzfest a very looooong time ago but will never forget. REST ETERNALLY.
I just recently started getting into Type O and am completely addicted to the song Anesthesia. I’ve also watched a bunch of interviews from Peter and I gotta say he was a very real individual. A shame he got taken so young.
When i was alot younger than i am now i was at a show and he pulled me on stage and called my parents to say " do you know where your kid is right now".....my dad said he is spose to be at some church function.....pete said...well he is..and hung up....loved seeing you in atlanta big man....(-)...(-)...(-)
It makes me so sad that he died before I discovered the band. From what I've seen he was a beautiful soul with looks to match. I fell in love with that soul honestly, and like I said he ain't bad looking either. I hate that I was 19 when I first heard them (2014) and I didn't understand the music so I just brushed them off. It was last year when I finally started listening to the music and got to know about peter. I'm sitting here beating myself up for just being a girl at that point, and not the metal loving woman I am now. RIP Peter, wish I could of known you sooner
Thanks for Your heart !TON meant so much to me ... when the CASSETTE was officially released in the Czech Republic, I took a bus to the city, an hour, bought it, October Rust, I still have it, and another hour he went back and listened to it religiously ... it forever me it has changed..you certainly remember THIS YOUR moment too :) Thanks for the opportunity to see his grave ... two months ago I was at the grave of the Czech singer Filip Topol and I know what it must have meant for you..here you have it back, I owe you this, Have a nice day ! th-cam.com/video/yaRpbl5hOT0/w-d-xo.html
Update 😀 I've posted 2 previous comments about visiting Pete's grave over the past couple of months. My son and I went yesterday. It was a beautiful day and drive on the way up. It was kinda hot 🥵 though. My son just turned 22 and had to work the night before. I asked him if he still wanted to go and he said yes. He had only gotten a couple hours of sleep the night before. We found the cemetery no problem. Once there we also found the section no problem. Now we couldn't find his grave. Nothing indicating range, row or plot #. I had come fully prepared with all the info written down. After wondering around for about an hour, I finally asked someone for help,as I was getting very frustrated and sweating a lot and I am always worrying about my son,who as I mentioned was extremely tired. The person I asked was extremely helpful. There are letters and numbers on the sides of the headstones. I noticed these before, but I thought they were measurements or something. Duh 🙄. It turns out we were right there all along and then found his grave no problem. We spent maybe 45 minutes there. I put 2 stones on top of Pete's grave and my son put 2 red roses down. 2 for everything, one for me and one from my son. We said our peace, paid our respects and talked to Pete. I don't really want to get into what was said and done just because I feel like it was just between the 3 of us (no offense to anyone). I will say that we bought a tree for him on this site called legacy.com. Licensed arborists plant the tree in a forest of need and they email you a digital certificate with your name, the deceased name and you can put what ever message you want on it. So that was basically it. It was a fun, awesome, hot, tiring experience for us. Sometimes frustrating, but definitely a great bonding experience also. Sorry so long, but this will probably be my last comment. RIP Peter Steele. The Green Man.🌳💚😺🍷🌹.
I saw them 7 times and felt that still wasn’t enough. With other bands’ concerts I was usually ready to go home once they finished. With Type O I was always bummed when they wrapped up, I never wanted them to leave the venue
young, scared and confused when i i heard type o for the 1st time in 1994. now im old and confused and still going to them when im at my lowest. love u to death green man. ;-)
I went on vacation to NYC in October of last year. Stayed with a friend of mine, a NYC native and an army friend I deployed with in 2003. Got to check out Coney Island, try a famed "Dirty Water Dog" and visited 4 of the 5 boroughs. One thing I certainly requested - for him to take us by Pete's grave, which he did. Took a number of pics, not out of morbid curiosity or disrespect, but because I love Type O. Never got to meet any of them or watch them perform, so this meant so much to me.
Nothing morbid at all my friend! Last year I paid my respects to Lemmy & Dio and I took photos of their tombs. It was all 100% out of respect for two amazing musicians who made an impact on my life. I too need to pay my respects to Peter the next time I'm in the Long Island area.
Thinking about visiting Pete's grave with my 21 year old son. We live in CT. Might make a road trip in summer. I saw them live maybe 6 times, once when Pete reformed Carnivore. Never got to meet him, but I feel lucky to have seen them live. I miss Pete and Type O Negative. My son would have loved to see them live with me. At least he's at peace and with his loved ones. Only the good die young. R.I.P.
Thank you Mallorie McCune for posting this video. I still can't believe Peter is gone. I live in the Northwest near Portland, Oregon. This video gives me the chance to see Peter's final resting place, since I wouldn't normally be able to see this in person since I'm so far away. R.I.P Peter Steele
thankyou Mallorie, its so :'( sooooo :'( and at the same time, there are many 'things for him', the kitten, the skull, TON logo, the car... and still, i hope people will 'get' how amazing this man was & always will be, how much genuine people are there, so few, Peter was an exeption, unique & pure, its so darn painful, love & respect Peter, always & forever 🤘💚💓
Hes buried right over by the family that was shot that inspired the Amittyville Horror shit.. RIP too them all ;( Im going back here again first week of june
i’ve never seen TON live or met peter but all i do know is that i was a small child when he had passed (i was 4) & from what i’ve heard, peter was a smart & kind soul. TON became one of my favorite bands recently cuz i discovered them during the pandemic & fell in love with them & peter’s song writing ability & when i got deeper down the rabbit hole that is a TON comment section, i found out that he had passed on in 2010 & i was heartbroken. to everyone who had the chance to meet him or befriend him, i’m so sorry for your loss. if you’re like me & have never seen TON or met peter, then you probably know how i feel. stay safe y’all 💚 (i know that this was word vomit into a paragraph but i didn’t know what else to say haha)
Never got to see Type O live, my friend got me into them just this year but I feel a strong spiritual connection to Peter. I'm going to New York at the end of this month, so I'm going to leave him some flowers. It's the only thing left to do.
I agree totally...I too never had the privilege of seeing them live, but O- has been an influential force in my life off and on since '96. I had just recently found my way back only to learn of Pete's demise... it's eerie to me in a way, but I had felt a STRONG spiritual connection to Pete suddenly, after years of his/their absence in my life...only to find him gone, after finding him/them again. That man was just a cool cat...so full of talent, wisdom, (ever listen to him talk) and just plain realness... Peter - you will be forever missed...
Just an update. I posted a comment about a month ago. Seems longer. My son and I were planning a trip to see Pete's grave. Looks like it's a go. We're going in August right around my son's birthday. I took 2 weeks off from work, which I desperately needed. I found a site where you can buy a tree for someone and have it planted in a forest of need. You can do this in memoriam of someone. I figured Peter would like this seeing how he loved nature. The Green Man 💚🌳. Well wish us luck. I'm actually a little nervous about this. I never go anywhere. I'll post a comment after the trip. See you soon Peter.
I dont have words to describe how thankfull im right now for this video mate...im from rio de janeiro , brazil... and i listen to TON for so many years... this band makes me feel stronger in times that i was weak... im hete now... drinking some red wine, listen to october rust album.for the 1000 time and wishing peter the best he can get where he is... im ao sad.... that tombstone is bealtiful too. Sorry for my bad grammar... why so young green man?
What a loss for the music world. His down to Earth personality comes through in every interview you see on TH-cam. Rock on in Heaven Pete. You were a handsome man, talented and always in self denial...Be well on the otherside...in God's hands.
I've got this Serrade Petite cat I rescued named Lucy. Even full grown she so small Pete Steele coulda picked her up in one big hand and put her on his shoulder. He loved cats! He woulda thought Lucy pretty cool.
Peter my dude, may your booming voice sound as well in heaven as it did on the earth. I pay my respects listening to ToN whenever i am feeling down. Rock the heck out of the heaven together with the other icons up there. Amen
Hi just want to say thanks for this i am a big fan of The Big Green Machine. I want to visit his grave but I live in Canada and I have a criminal record and I can’t enter the States until I get a pardon. So this means a lot to me to be able to see this and have the chance to be part of his memory. Long live Peter Steele and RIP your finally free big guy!!
Thank you for sharing this. I was at the Type O Negative show at Sonar - Baltimore on May 6, 2007. The club had the loudest PA I've ever heard in my life. The intro music was "It's a Small World After All" and then it's Peter Steele on stage saying "where's my fucking band"? They then opened with "Magical Mystery Tour". God Bless Peter.
Me and the band Shadow Reborn gave a pledge to visit Peter's grave and bring him red wine, dark red roses and black candles. A huge influence musically and spiritually. RIP Peter.
Type O Negative was my first concert experience. My GF at the time wanted to go so I followed not really knowing what to expect. I had not really listened to these guys before. I had only come across them on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack with Blood & Fire. It was an excellent soundtrack but these guys stood out. I had Bloody Kisses and October Rust on heavy rotation awaiting their next album. World Coming Down was awesome! I don't care what anyone says. Everything Dies is a song that hits so close to home. I was blown away by the live performance and totally fell in love with their sound. Quite possibly the most unique band of all time. I have never been to New York but if I ever do, it will definitely be to visit Peter Steele. Damn I miss this band! And Pete. A lot of fans would love another album but in my opinion, they gave us enough. This video moved me to tears. Thank you so much for sharing this. I am going to binge on some Type O Negative now!
I had the honor of seeing Type O Negative twice here in Colorado and it was an awesome experience! Watching your video, walking up to his gravestone and the tune that is playing was (for a lack of better words) nice.....thank you DisMal Cyanide...I felt the moment!!!
this was really emotional to watch. Peter is the reason I picked up a bass guitar in 1993. I live in Windsor,Ontario which is right across from Detroit rock city & I use to see Type O at Harpos every time they came through,I was at Type O's last show ever which was at Harpos in Detroit.
One thing that I hope to do someday is take an Esh Stinger (Peter’s custom model) to his grave and play a few of his bass lines for him. That’s one of the top things on my bucket list.
Can anyone go and visit his grave or you need special permission? I live in Long Island, and I would love to pay my respects to Peter Steele. Been listing to TON since high school. More I hear his voice, the more I respect him.
Type o negative great band highly underrated saw them once at ozzfest at the end of the show pete Steele took his hand and broke all the strings from his bass in one swipe made this hellish feedback sound I remember thinking how the hell did he do that
That is interesting.... I've made a point to visit many over here and they all are pretty much the same aside from New Orleans and a couple on the east cost thus far. Thanks for stopping by!
I'm still pissed he's gone...he had just gotten his life together and was preparing to work on a new album. For me, other bands come and go but Type O always spoke to me, helped me through high school and got me through most of my adult life
Elliot Johnson fucken a and this makes me bawl
Elliot, i think thats the riddle to life. as soon as you quit the bad stuff, you get ill. i think about it alot. i know what you mean brother. take care 👍💚
Unfortunately the damage had been done. That kind of taxing on your heart and being 6'6" is a recipe for disaster.
Need to stop by. Where's the exact location in Brooklyn? If you can let me know that would be awesome.
😭😭
I would sit there and cry. I never had the honor to see them live
Mianya Winchester Neither did I, sadly. I got into them just months before Peter died. R.I.P. Peter!
YA watching Kenny mid, Love You To Death solo...was orgasmic!!!
Nor did I. They filled a void in my life, though; my soul.
Looks like St Charles, in Farmingdale, LI. Republic Airport right there. My parents in same section, they’ll probably yell at you to turn it down.
LOL, I only had it playing on headphones, no other soul present or otherwise could hear, I'm sure :D Thanks for stopping by!
Hi, from Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Peter Steele in my heart forever!
I went to his Grave just yesterday there is now a Pic of him and sympathy stone and a giant rosery bead chain but instead of beads it was flowers it was absolutely beautiful thank you for helping visit him and I came to figure out that he is buried in the same Cemetary as My Great-Grandmother Thank You So Much 💜
That's awesome!!! So glad it's still a great place to go for mindful memories. Blessed be!
See on the other side Peter...
lucky!
As a fan I wish he had his own big obelisk or something but from what I can tell this humble spot with his family is what he'd really want

Yep and the sad part is that he did not get help. He should have gone to the hospital but he didn't so this is what happened.
He was just beautiful absolutely beautiful to behold a very handsome and highly creative and intriguing musical genius beloved and missed by so many . He is greatly missed and grieved so beyond words can express. Fly high Peter ♥️💌😢

That's awesome man!!! Sounds like a fun time for sure!!
@@dismalcyanidecustoms Mallorie did you ever see Type O Negative in concert? If so what year?
@@buddywilliams5650 I did in 08, it was a blast!!
What a sadness!.. i'd like to go there and put a red beautiful rose to him...

I just recently started getting into Type O and am completely addicted to the song Anesthesia. I’ve also watched a bunch of interviews from Peter and I gotta say he was a very real individual. A shame he got taken so young.
Thanx for sharing.💚

I too need to pay my respects to Peter the next time I'm in the Long Island area.

Only 2 hours from where I live. I really want to visit. Maybe in October and I'll bring a statue figurine of a cat to leave bc he loved cats.

My son met Type O Negative back in the 1990s, when he worked in Greensboro NC , they were performing at the Greensboro Colosseum where my son worked
I hope you found the peace that eluded you in life. RIP Peter and thank you for your enduring gift.
Thank you for this video. I love this man and TON so damn much. Perfect song, looked like a beautiful day. RIP Pete. You’ll never be forgotten
sarah bowen It was amazingly bittersweet, but wonderful nonetheless. Thanks for your comment!
Now it is already six years since he passed away. Thanks for the video! Cheers from Germany, hope I can visit this place in future.
I WISH I could have met him and talked. Especially in his later years . We have the great fortune of being the same age and such similar creatures .
Lady Hawk in what way do you think you were the same as Peter Steele if you don't mind my asking
Pete rip brother. Your Musik is so good. Peaceful Rest now and night song's.
RIP Peter.
Happy Birthday Peter! Thank you for all the amazing music. You got me through some tough times. \m/
Love you Peter. Youre music helpt me to get along in life.
I miss him so much. Rest in peace my first love ❤❤❤ Thank you for posting!
His music is his legacy The man was brilliant, beautiful .A huge loss, gone too soon.Love and blessings to you Peter Steele 👍🏼💚🙏🏼
Twoja Legenda nigdy nie minie. Nie zapomnimy o Tobie.
That's a nice tombstone. Thanks so much for uploading this. What a cool guy. He finally got what he wanted. R.I.P.
He's buried in Long Island, not Brooklyn. People get confused about that.
thank you for uploading this Peter was a big inspiration for my life
Happy Birthday Peter Steel. You are Still Loved and Missed. Rip Beautiful Soul
I had the honor of seeing Type O Negative twice here in Colorado and it was an awesome experience! Watching your video, walking up to his gravestone and the tune that is playing was (for a lack of better words) nice.....thank you DisMal Cyanide...I felt the moment!!!
Sadly missed and gone to soon but left his mark on the world.thanks for the music peter
thanks for posting. perfect choice on the song. he dedicated HIH to dimebag. definately gonna visit if I ever make it to NY from Seattle.
Thanks man! I also appreciate when people don't find it fitting, still means I did it right, I'm sure Pete would have agreed :)
this was really emotional to watch. Peter is the reason I picked up a bass guitar in 1993. I live in Windsor,Ontario which is right across from Detroit rock city & I use to see Type O at Harpos every time they came through,I was at Type O's last show ever which was at Harpos in Detroit.
Even if it was cut short, he completed the great work. He won't be forgotten anytime soon.
I saw Type O open for Sepltura & Ozzy back in the day...great band...Rock In Peace...
Peter love you for ever💖
should have played type o wolf moon.
+Mianya Winchester I agree , so much more of a haunted vibe . Perfect .
Or Haunted
Well this song is about all the dead Rockstars in heaven rocking out. Kinda fitting if you ask me.
Halloween in Heaven is a perfect fit my dude...Pete is greatly missed
One thing that I hope to do someday is take an Esh Stinger (Peter’s custom model) to his grave and play a few of his bass lines for him. That’s one of the top things on my bucket list.
Beautiful R.I.P.
Can anyone go and visit his grave or you need special permission? I live in Long Island, and I would love to pay my respects to Peter Steele. Been listing to TON since high school. More I hear his voice, the more I respect him.
Anyone can go during visiting house, usually dawn to dusk, but double check their website or call for the most accurate info.
He will be missed!
Es war uns eine große Freude. Gute Reise, Herr Ratajczyk.
Thank you for posting, rock on.
Thanks so much for uploading this video.
I must do this visit and just sit there as I listen to my fav type-o album “Dead Again”
Lamentável isso não consigo acreditar vai fazer falta 🙏

Can't believe it's been ten years already.
i just listened to last Christmas by type o.....i miss his music so bad
My wife was great friends with him. Damn I miss the Green Man, R.I.P.
Pete, I'll pass by when I go to visit my parents and in laws at St Charles.
Happy October. and Rest in peace Green Man. You are missed, and loved by us all. 💚🖤
I’d be tempted to go do a memorial service sometime, after all he was part Russian so I’m sure he had some Orthodox ancestry. Memory eternal, Petrus!
He was not Russian at all.
@@sammiemissy9068 Wiki says his father was of Russian and Polish descent 🤷♂️
@@fr.timothycurren5592 I have done his ancestry work extensively, if there are Russians they are not part of any close lineage
if Someday i got out from Venezuela, i will visit you Peter
My grandparents are buried at St Charles.. Never knew the great Peter Steele was there also. Will have to check it out next time I am in NY.
Thank you for this.
My pleasure. And 100% why I did it. To share the love of Pete!
Type o negative great band highly underrated saw them once at ozzfest at the end of the show pete Steele took his hand and broke all the strings from his bass in one swipe made this hellish feedback sound I remember thinking how the hell did he do that
That is the best maintained cemetery I have ever seen 🖤
"Everything Dies..." RIP Pete...
I'm seeing a concert that's a completely different genre than Type O on the day of his death, but man. RIP you beautiful miserable sexual man you.
You can tell as soon as she saw his grave she walked very fast. 😂
I admit to nothing :P
Its interesting how cemetaries look like in other countries. Its like completely different from where I live.
That is interesting.... I've made a point to visit many over here and they all are pretty much the same aside from New Orleans and a couple on the east cost thus far. Thanks for stopping by!
I don't know why but I wanna cry
Miss you so much. Pete wil always live forver in his amazing music.
Can't believe he is gone. His music remains
Man I wish I could have seen these guys
