Were Goutam's statements about artistic freedom genuine or full of fluff? From his facial expressions, he seemed not only shocked but also appeared to be hesitant. So, as a painter, if his work is free expression of his artistic creativity, and that of his models' is their ultimate uninhibited freedom, the question remains unanswered whether he would be just as open-minded and accept his wife posing for other men?

Great shortfilm. The painting shown in the film itself resembles the goutam character as a buddha does his meditation even surrounded by many girls and that reference i liked the most
Great script.
This is an example to show how we easily complicate the situation by over reacting. The girl could have verbally expressed her interests instead of removing the clothes. Also, its pity to see that some people are judging the boy and deriving the conclusions on his character just by his facial expression, even before he spoke anything. The girl also would have been in the same shock, if the boy had taken her to his studio while he painted the nude models.

I just saw the short film. Many short films I have seen but never commented. It's worth commenting. Great thinking required for males. Female wants to be liberated.And such movies open ways.great!

Definitely Thought provoking!! It’s interesting that the filmmaker left this film’s ending to the viewer. I’m curious too see the results if a voting is done. Men and women equality is when the verdict is the same for both in any given situation. If the guy didn’t agree to her, he’s an absolute hypocrite!!
How attitudes differ, when it comes to liberating the female
If he can't accept her doing her work.. Then, how can he expect her to understand his work. These double standards of men, is actually problematic.

Both of them got the shock of their lives .cant imagine what wud have happened in a realistic situation .The Girl had indeed accepted the guy .Hopefully the guy might have accepted it as well .But definitely both werent well prepared for such a coincidence ...

Now rethink this story by interchanging the protagonists' roles, I mean Saanvi as a painter and Goutam as a writer. One can imagine a 300-page novel discoursing the man and woman's feelings, points of view, socio-economic standards, etc., but in the end, you do what you want to do, therefore face the consequences that are bearable or unbearable. THE END.
Thanks for creating such a video , men always feel they are perfectionist so they can engage in any business as a profession , but will they digest the same when a woman choose to do the same for a living or as a profession or a hobby .
Why we woman want a man we like to be just what we are .
Profession or hobby should be just personal no opinion of other's should hold them apart while choosing a life partner
Why didn’t you show the ending?That was very much necessary to understand if it was the hackneyed one or really a changed perspective.

Why the title OPAQUE?
overall good movie reflects different views of society for different gender.
I wonder how to be mother in law would react to this revelation by the girl..
Which type of freedom is this for both male and female ?
At least show a clear end.
Just for the sake of argument, lets change the story line little bit and predict the story climax.
..
> After the coffee, instead of the Goutam revealing his profession details first, Saanvi tells that apart from writing books she also poses for painters. She explains this is another thing that she does because there is freedom in it.
> Goutam says he needs some time to think and leaves the scene.
> Couple of days later, Goutam walks into Saanvi's house with his female models. While in Saanvi's room, the female models undresses and poses for painting. Goutam starts painting and explains that this is not his "interest" or "hobby" but this is what he does as part of his profession to earn a "living".
Now, what would be Saanvi's response?
1. Jumps in joy and agrees to marry.
2. Calls her parents and throw him out of the house.
3. Asks Goutam to change his profession if he wants to marry her.
4. Other?

It's painfully slow for a short film. Couldn't watch beyond 5 mins.

There was no need for the girl to drop her clothes to tell that she was a model. Who enacts his/her profession to tell what she does. The boy's anxiety which borders on guilt is totally over the top. Whoever played the hero, looked more like a tensed govt. clerk than a painter. Overall, the concept was good but extremely poor execution.
Both are wrong. Neither Gautam nor saanvi should do this types of work. This may be ok with western civilization but we are not that much habitat for accepting this. Freedom ke naam par aaj kal log kuch jyada hi vahiyaat kam karne lag gaye hai .

So the ending is left to the viewer. I think , he may accept her as his wife. His mother may also accept her. But reality of life is different. He may get bored of her as a wife.he may not like to share her, with other men.
I am surprised that how could such a stupid movie get an award. Now a days it has become a fashion to do anything stupid like this & then tell freedom or gender equality etc etc. According to me these type of movies shouldn't be encouraged.
