- These two girls always make my day when I come to visit them. Mambele is already quite busy with helping Vizazi to get stronger. I think baby Vizazi will be crawling soon. I hope you'll enjoys seeing this family!

Oh, you are so fortunate to be able to witness, first hand, Vizazi growing up.
It's strange how I've gotten to know several gorilla families, from Japan and Europe, but have never taken the time to visit the San Diego zoo, to see the gorillas there🤔...I think it's time for me to go.

Which is great for her, but selfishly, I want her to stay a baby forever. 😄

Well Lieke...I don't know how you so consistently capture the most beautiful & intimate moments of all the animals you love so much, but these moments are truly heartwarming to me beyond words...Every time I see baby Vizazi's adorable little speckled feet, I just want to cover them with kisses..HaHaHa....I sure look forward to the time baby Thandie starts curiously trying to touch & engage her little baby sister in play...It will be heavenly... *: )*

Toen ik mijzelf terug vond bij het kijken van een video met Geert Wilders!!! wist ik dat het tijd was om gorilla's te gaan zien. Want die zijn veel leuker natuurlijk. Vizazi is erg beweeglijk en trekt de schattigste koppies.

I have seen at least 4 different gorilla mama's hold the babies arm's with their feet and play with them. I wonder if it's to stretch them out or just something to make us humans jealous! 4 hands would be convenient!

Wat een gewéldige video over onze meisjes 😍 Vizazi maakt serieuze sprongetjes vooruit merkte ik ook, sterke meid! Mambele gaat ogen/handen te kort komen om haar baby binnen bereik te houden, zeker met kleuter Thandie in de buurt die maar wat graag wil spelen met haar babyzusje ❤

@@LiekesShotOfLife Hoe leuk & toevallig was dat ja! Gisteren werden de laatste bezoekers net voor sluitingstijd nog verwend met mooie tafereeltjes vlak voor het raam in hun kleine binnenverblijven. Thandie "plakte" heel de tijd bijna op haar zusje, haar aanraken, aankijken, strelen, proberen pakken, en Mambele liet het redelijk toe, mits enige bijsturingen haha. Vizazi vond het ook allemaal best ok, een glimp van de avontuurtjes die haar te wachten staan met die speelgrage zus. Na een tijd wierp Mambele wel voortdurend starende blikken op een vlakbij zittende Mayani, als wou ze zeggen "Hallo, kan je jouw dochter even in het oog te houden?" 😆

If I could hear the baby I can imagine it is screaming because it doesn't want to be held like that.
You are so lucky to see so many babies! I live near a pretty large zoo, and for whatever reason they’ve chosen to have only same sex animals for most of their larger species (gorillas, hippos, giraffes). It’s been that way for quite some time, so I don’t expect it to change. Our gorilla group is a bachelor group of four. I enjoy them, but they spend most of their time away from each, doing their own thing. Not much interaction. 😞 I’ll just have to enjoy the babies through your zoo visits.🥰❤️
Some zoos indeed choose to not breed and keep single men's and women groups. But with gorilla's they also need to keep a single men's group 4 years before they can start a family group. Silverbacks are indeed doing their own thing and although they are beautiful it isn't the same as a family group.
But indeed I'm very lucky with zoos with this many babies in a one hour drive :)!
You say silver backs need to be in a all male group for 4 years?!! Why is that? Do all silver backs live in a bachelor group before they go onto their own group?
@@Karla-zm6lq oh no you misunderstood. Zoos who want to start a family group, first need to keep a group of silverbacks for 4years before they can start a family group.
