Suggestion: First try to model this without watching the tutorial then come back and start watching, that will be a great way to learn and practise. Also you can follow me on socials: twitter.com/mert_iskndr instagram.com/polygonpen/
Thank you for all you're doing @polygonpen. Please keep doing short ones like this for beginners like me. Thank you once again, with love from Nigeria.
One quick tip, that maybe you already know: You can quickly apply subdivision surface weight on edges by holding the "." key and then clicking and dragging.
Thanks Mert, you are the best! 🏆 I tried it by myself first, and failed sooo badly at the usb holes and pins, so had to watch it. It looks soo simple after that 😄... but this is what they call experience I think 🙂I already learned so much thanks to you 🤩💪
If loop cuts don't reach all around the object as you do at 4:25, is there a way to find out why? Object looks fine, everything is lined up and matched before adding the Boole...?
If this happens, there is probably an empty point or unconnected edge flow aka non along the way, so make sure that the topo is quad as much as possible.
I've been following you for almost 3 years now and i've learned a lot from your tutorials. But I want to ask if you can make an absolute beginner small course all the way from explaining the interface, each tool what it does, sculpting, anination, rigging, blocking, modelling, simulation and texturing. Really from the basics to a professional level. Thanks
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Coming from an industrial design workflow i have a question about polymodelling.. what is the easiest way to create close to perfect fillets? (Ignoring micro fillets) - You touched on it at 8.33 with the rectangle cut, but what is the best methods to ensure straight edges and tight fillet corners? Thanks :)
In SubD poly modeling, it is all about dividing polygons and angles, as you move the points/edges closer to each other, this is gonna tighten up the fillets/hard edges but the result is not as precise as CAD/Nurbs modeling, if tihis is what you are asking.

you can also use period [ . ] with click and drag to set sds weights if you didn't know!
Edit: someone else already said it lol
Yeah just learnt that, didn't know it all.

what's the difference between using the stitch and sew tool and the bridge tool?
Stitch and sew is more pricise and faster.
where do you get the image planes for your projects?
Pinterest and reverse searching.
on the preview instead of 02 it says 01
Thank you for the warning, I missed that.
