  • First impressions are very good, seen lots of good reviews for these wheels which is why I got one.
Mush better than most other smaller wheels I have tried. If your pushed for space I would definatly recommend one.

In US model is Shimpo Aspire, which I bought in January 2017 when I started mudding around with clay.
    Very pleased with it.
Mine does not whine so there may be a way to get rid of that if you get in touch with Shimpo.
I found a little dish soap on the rubber o-rings helps to seat the bats better.
Have thrown up to 7 lbs on it and it is till powering up well.

Hi they replaced the wheel and now my shimpo aspire is whisper quiet as it should be. So defiantly a fault with the first one.

Thanks for sharing, was interested in watching you use your thumb to lift on the outside. I struggle with arthritis in my hands so using my knuckle to lift.is uncomfortable Now once in adult ed Cass on Thursday so definitely going to give that idea a go. Thanks

I would say this table top shimpo is the best alternative to a full sized wheel. Can do most throws on it. May be the foot pedal version.

PLEASE could you answer a question for me?
I've just bought the Shimpo Aspire. When the wheel starts turning, there is a quiet "tapping" sound coming from the motor. When it gets faster and to full speed, the tapping sound is more prominent (and slightly annoying). Could you please let me know if your Shimpos also have this tapping sound, or if you can only here the normal constant hum of the motor? Kind regards, Richard.

Hi mine did the same and after a little back and forth with supplier they eventually replaced it. Record it and if you want email me and i will send a sound file of what it should sound like. Should be a steady hum as it turns no tapping etc.. Hope that helps

@@MitfordPottery hi, that's great. Thank you for letting me know about yours. They sent me a belt replacement just today infact, but it still makes a quiet tapping noise so I'll be calling them back tomorrow. Cheers for replying.

@@RichMiniatures Hi, just curious, did you ever resolve the tapping sound issue? I have noticed the same sound at a public studio where the pins holes on plastic bats had worn down. It would tap every rotation. Makes me wonder if the bats that they include with Aspire wheels aren't loose at all? Maybe it isn't the belt that causes the sound.

@@davezad @davezad hi there. Well the company sent me a replacement belt, and the tapping was much less. And eventually it was a lot less noisy through time. The whole machine was brand new, but I'd also tried it without the bats but it still tapped. It does actually still tap but since I replaced the belt, it's hardly noticable

That motor seems much weaker than the Shimpo Aspire I have. I have to really push hard to get it to strain and slow, yours is also very noise - which is odd... - Never mind I just read the earlier comments and that you did get a replacement.

Why did you get this dinky lil' wheel? Do you need two wheels, or is it handy to have a portable one for use elsewhere?

Is it normal to have that loud whiney sound? I have only thrown clay on a Shimpo RK 3D and that one is really quiet.

Hi, no I did complain about this and they exchanged the wheel. The new one in later videos is much quieter. Thanks for watching my vids by the way, much appriciated.

Have you tried 7-10lbs on this wheel?

Hi first thanks for watching and hope you continue too. At the moment I have only really done small stuff. I will be trying bigger items in the future but all the other info I have heard says it is quite capable of larger items.
