Had the most insane tank engagement on Tallil Invasion as a gunner last night but forgot to record it. US team was running up to Batha from the west in a convoy with 1 Abrams, 1 Bradley, 1 Stryker, 1 Logi, 1 M-ATV plus a UH-60. RU had 2 Kornets, one in Batha, one on a hanger on the western end of airfield. Engagement started when convoy reached the Northwest of Batha. First shot fired at a hull down T-72 at 800m, no static firing by us after the first 2 shots. Driver was legging it and maneuvering to evade shots. A minute later shots fired at the second T-72 at 1600m. Exchange promptly interrupted by a Spandrel flanking convoy from the South which was spotted by commander and taken out within 5sec of spotting. Engagement resumed and shortly after the first T-72 turned around and starting retreating where it was exposed on the open desert. Engine shot disabled it but so is our Abrams which got tracked then destroyed. Both T-72s were rendered operational ineffective and retreated. At least 40+ shots were exchanged during the entire engagement with ~50% of their shots landing and ~70% of our shots landing (not necessarily penetrating). The whole convoy but the Abrams and the M-ATV made it safe to Batha. Gotta say is one hell of a strategic feat.
Today I had a game where In a t72 our crew of 3 accidently came across a enemy fob in a future capture point and survived there for the entire game. The driver died when he got out trying to repair and after a certain amount of time I got out of the commander seat after destroying a tow and a couple of people thinking the area was clear. I died ten seconds later. Out team captured the second to final capture point and at that moment it became clear that our tank sat at the enemy capture point and the entire enemy team would be against the loan gunner now stuck alone in the t72. He somehow survived against all odds for like 20 minutes to the point where the enemy put up mortars a few houses away. Yet the gunner continued to not die and eliminate every single thing. After my team showed up to contest the point I got back in the t72, repaired it, and drove off to a crew. Repair station. There I rralized that all fragmentation rounds were gone the reflex missiles were. Gone there were only 4 heat rounds and the coax was empty.
