Just Chill XD hi msp person
I mean there’s a hell of a lot of science that could be talked about regarding surface tension, fluid dynamics, the molecular reasons why oil and water don’t mix. All things that could probably help you achieve better water marbling by actually understanding what’s going on and maybe introduce some girls to the idea that science helps you understand the world who wouldn’t otherwise. But instead they say some shit about gravity and use it to sell some plastic crap to children :p
They could also talk about density and why certain polishes would work better but naw
Madeline Loyd I- u read the entire paragraph. I can’t
i physically cant read that unless its against my will.

I’m a chemist in a quality control laboratory and I also love makeup!! You can definitely be both. I think this toy is dumbing down “science” and not really teaching much.
But then again it's a toy for 6 year olds😂
Edwina Fulton but 6 year olds *want* to learn. Kids aren’t as stupid as adults tend to think. I remember being pretty disappointed in the toy offerings when i was a kid, especially after reading old kids books where they mention full chemistry sets and transistor radio kits as kids’ toys (for the 5-8yo age range). Kids toys have been significantly dumbed down, sometimes in the name of safety, and kids do want to do more and learn more, they just lack the life experience and knowledge to know what they’re missing :(
How about creating one that's not dumbed down? The non-dumbed down kit!
screwculture Exactly! And that is what makes kids lose their thirst for knowledge and curiosity because they think that those terrible products are, in fact, science.
It’s too bad they did that. There was a lot they could have taught with this kit, but instead they chose to basically just make it into a cash grab :/
Hi Cristine, thanks for "getting serious" at the end of this video. It is so important to talk about issues like this. I am a female physics PhD student that has a huge holo stash and regularly comes to work with blinged out nails. There are definitely people who take me less seriously because of it and it can be really tough. I make an effort to make sure they don't prevent me from being feminine when I want to, and I hope to show everyone that you can be a BAMF scientist and a holosexual. At a conference in March I presented my research with my nails decked out in super-bright Cherub by Superchic Lacquer partially to make a point (and partially because I love it).
I am on the fence about the efficacy of these products. On the one hand, I totally agree with you - girls don't need girly or dumbed down science. On the other hand, I can see how these products might be a bridge for young kids who like nail polish to get interested in science. I think it might come down to the actual science content of the toy. There is definitely science involved in nail polish - what chemistry makes a quick dry top coat quick dry? Why do some colors water marble well and others not so much? How do suspension bases work? It might be a question of can questions like this be simplified to a level appropriate for the target age of the toy. I think if the toy really makes an effort to teach the science of nail polish, then that's pretty cool. However, if the toy is just like, "Look! Science for girls! ...it's nail polish!" and it is not on a (appropriately) sophisticated level, I have a hard time getting on board. I also feel like the feminizing of science in this way maybe implies that science is inherently masculine? I do not like that idea one bit!
Anyway thanks again for bringing up this important issue!
Kathryn
PS Your job sounds really cool!
boredom411 Honestly, what a great comment. I appreciate the fact that you took time out of your day to voice your thoughts and opinions. Kudos to you for your commitment to both science and nail art!
boredom411 I'm genuinely wowed by the size and meaning of your comment
boredom411 Kathryn, I love what you said about products like these giving the impression that science is inherently masculine. That seems to reach to the core of the problem possibly even more than the lack of scientific information provided by the products. Also, it's so refreshing to see a TH-cam comment with actual content and care. Cristine, I love how funny you are and I also loved seeing your thoughtful side just as much - I hope you consider doing another video like this again!
boredom411 You go girl!
boredom411 I absolutely agree, I'm one of a large family and am the only girl (well, 22 now) that has pursued a scientific route and I have always had a science and engineering passion and am lucky enough to have not felt held back by the genders in science because of a supportive family and teachers nurturing my science interests. However, I have grown up to see the disproportionate amount of males to females in college/university level now I'm on a scientific degree. I hope if only one person who watches the end of the video, reads your comment or any other comments left by women in science are inspired and empowered to nurture their scientific passion!

Love your message at the end! Yes, this is totally capitalizing on the recent popularity in STEM toys by marketing stereotypical activities to girls and making it "scientific." I'm currently in college to be a middle school math teacher and feel very strongly about getting women and PoC into STEM, but this is just not it. It is a nail art toy that has been rebranded to be "science" and is frankly condescending to girls, as though they wouldn't know any better.
Cristine noticed you!!
I hate girls stereotypes 👎
Sydney Allison and in a world when guys can also paint their nails, it's kinda not allowed
Mewy If it would have talked about the chemistry of paint, or even if it had some discussion of why we color our nails. Maybe something where the kid uses different types of nail polish and their drying times, or why water marbling works; there actually could be plenty of learning through nail art. It can work.
Justine H If the world saw women as equally intelligent, they wouldn't have just recently received equal rights in first world countries, and still be treated as lesser in others. I think wanting to get more women into science is fantastic, to give more women confidence in their ability and stand up to the leading men. It would also double the amount of talent in the fields, who wouldn't want that? How anyone could argue against someone wanting more female reprsentation and girls changing the world is beyond my understanding. It's so pure, there's nothing I can see wrong with such an idea.

I'm a girl. I'm addict for makeup, nails and fashion. I'm also an Avionics aircraft maintenance engineer ( that's someone who works with the magical stuff that makes airplanes fly) . Science is not something you should gender tag. Besides, I'm almost sure watermarbeling has more to do with water superficial tension than to gravity... Fun video!
girl... u must make some bank. Hahahahaha
good for you though honestly. I considered mechanical engineering (i'll be going into college this fall) but after taking AP calc and AP physics, it's just not for me. I plan on going into neuroscience now, which I think is cool af.
Best of luck to you! The only advice I can give you is to chose something you really love doing, sounds like a cliche but it's what gets you through the tough days!
Wow! That's an awesome job that you have ^^ (you should talk about that magic part to Cristine tho). Same for me: I'm a girl and I love fashion, and yet I'd love to join the army next year (partially, while still going to college)

I thought she was gonna bring out Cristine the science queen instead she brought out simply nerdlogical😢😂
I've been doing my nails since I was 11 and my make-up since I was 14 and I love it. Now I'm in college pursuing a science degree. I totally agree with Cristine that we should teach girls science, not "science for girls." I don't think making pretty patterns on my nails compares to making pretty neurological connections in my brain.
Jade Thoe i don't think it's fair to dismiss the entire group of cosmetic scientist they work hard too
Plus girls are taught science, regular science, idk about you but there a groups that are specifically for girls STEM groups and girl computer science groups across alot of schools and personally i think if we're gonna create groups for male dominated professions like STEM for girls why don't we have Nursing profession clubs for only boys
Jade Thoe t
TAMEXPO I don't believe that's what she was saying. I think her intent was that it is slightly sexist to assume that the ONLY way to get girls, in particular, interested in science is too involve fashion and makeup and nails. That's just continuing the stereotype that girls only care about things that are considered frivolous.
Renee's Reviews but you realise that MANY young girls genuinely enjoy makeup and nail art and what better way to boost their confidence than saying "Hey hey the thing you enjoy doing for fun is science you're so smart!!!!!" It may enforce stereotypes but to be frank the stereotypes are based on truth if they advertise science by using products young girls typically enjoy what's the harm?
Renee's Reviews plus science is already a mandory subject in school so why not show that science can and is fun idk about you but when i was 7 if you said what i was doing was science my ego would INFLATE
Ok since Cristine got serious in this video I'll do the same and hope at least one young girl can read this. I was not the popular girl at school, I was a nerd, I liked science, reading and playing video games and I was terrible at sports. High school was not the best experience for me but guess what? It didn't last forever. I met cool people in college, including my current boyfriend, I travelled to many different countries, I got into weightlifting and now that I am 30 I am the web developer with the prettiest nails in the world xD
What I mean with this is that life changes and you can't go around life trying to meet other kids/the media/celebrities/beauty gurus expectations. Use your time in school to have fun, go out, do girly things but also don't be afraid to explore those things you are passionate about. You like nail art? Maybe you can start a youtube channel and take a photography/Video editing course to learn how to take the best pictures for instagram. If you like computers you can take online courses about programming, many are for free. Check out websites like Udemy where you can learn about tons of different topics. Ask your teachers for guideance. Forget about stupid stereotypes about nerds and girly girls; real life is not black and white like that and you can do whatever you want. But please, make the most of your teenage years! Be happy, LEARN about different things, ignore the haters, and be yourself!!!

This moment when you said girls can like “girly stuff” and still do “smart stuff” made me kinda feel better ? I mean I often feel bad for loving make up and nail art a lot just because I want to get a job in the “smart and reserved to boys” section. I guess I always knew that but I acknowledged it with an actual people saying it. Kinda empowering, even if I was not expecting to hear this type of thing through a screen xD
So, thank you for that
ok like ik this is from 5yrs ago n ur probably a senior in highschool or some shit but i agree completely.
as a little kid i wanted to be a forensic coroner and i still do, but i was always a super girly little kid.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for that speech at the end. I'm a girl that loves makeup, nails, and glittery shit and am a also wildlife biologist that spends most days in field clothes or researching, covered in sweat and mud, practicing land management, and catching snakes and lizards when I can. It's so important to promote that being smart and liking science and being traditionally feminine are not mutually exclusive things. Selling science to young girls in a way that reinforces the "necessity" of the beauty industry bothers me. Just teach kids to be curious.
lifewithjessandderek i
While I agree with the fact that a woman shouldn't have to be conventionally beautiful, I personally think that harrasment towards attractive women in the sciences is actually there, too. ''You can't be beautiful AND smart'' is also a problem. I will get A LOT of hate for this but... Also in my opinion, the companies that advertise these things and societal pressure is only one part of it. Humans ,while we like to think we are high and mighty, we are still animals. We are biological robots and we judge people based on their looks whether we like it or not. People see the appearences of a person first. I am not saying that everyone should be pressured to feel attractive, but the thing is, the interest in being attractive is not only pushed by instagram(even though that is a big issue), but by our primal instincts. The ultimate goal of an animal is to reproduce and in order to reproduce we have to find a suitable mate which often boils down to looks. Humans are nothing more than animals, even though we might be intelligent, our instincts and the way nature works is still there. And yes, I am aware of LGBT+, but that's a part of a minority and the majority of people are reproducing straight people. The way social media contributes to the issue is by making everything worse. The issue is not people being pressured to be attractive(because that will always stay with us, as I said, we are still animals), but the issue is that there are trends and things that make people think that one way of being attractive is the only way.
lifewithjessandderek why such a long comment?... ;-;

I hate Project MC2 bc all of their products are using science for "girly" things (not even with science) like fashion, makeup, or jewelry... normal science isn't "girly" enough?
Bro yeah exactly!
As a kid I would have loved to do *actual science*
I've been on a huge science TH-cam binge and it's fricking awesome! I would have loved to do that shit!
But all I got as a kid was shitty girls science kits with _make your own lip balm_ that was just "mix the lip balm base with the colouring and flavour of your choice!"
@@orangetangyvideos OMG YES!! I remember those awful lip balm kits 🤣
I got proper science kits and art stuff. I got told logic and creativity are not mutually exclusive but go hand in hand
I don't know, I think it's a good entry point for a lot of girls. It's less about teaching them how to _do_ science, and more about showing girls who think they're uninterested in science that there are aspects of science in things they already enjoy. The hope is that it will prompt girls to seek out the science in their other interests, and eventually become interested in science in and of itself.
That's not what every girl needs, of course, but the stereotype came from somewhere, and that somewhere is: girls just aren't as drawn to science-for-science's-sake as boys. And that's fine! But it's important to find other ways to introduce science to girls, because they may be interested in more specific forms of science they wouldn't normally have a vehicle to discover.
I'm currently a female majoring in mechanical engineering at university and I love the PSA you had at the end of the video. Young girls are never given the chance to even know how far their capabilities extend in STEM fields. BOTH men and women are needed to bring unique viewpoints to each job field to make it as successful as possible. Both men and women can have killer nails and change the world, all at once!
Tara Plaszewski that outlook that's what I want for the world.. both men n women can be good at science n have cute nails 👍 I dream of that world all day long 💭
When I was trying to work as a network specialist (basically, consulting people on the phone with their Internet connection and stuff), I was getting hate almost every day because "Can I please talk to A MAN? My problem is kinda serious and I don't think that a woman knows what to do here!". That's why I've majored in firmware engineering instead. I hate sexist people.

Water marbling is very hard to make look bad, shs till didn't do a good job. At the very elast, when making the flower she should have started at the boarder instead of zig zagging in from the centre to the outside.

T-Bone Taker MANDELA AFFECT!!!!! 😳🙂😳🙂
Mother of 4 daughters and I hate these products! I love the end of your video, watched this thinking I was going to be annoyed and I'm glad you pointed out the inherent problem with these types of toys!
I work in a lab and my male colleagues have complimented my glitter nails so, being interested in both personal decoration and science is possible without being questioned or made fun of , and I don’t need to justify my obsession with nail polish and pretty clothes with science, and I don’t need science to be prettified for me to love it either.
I'm posting this a literal year later BUT when I was buying gifts to donate for Christmas this year, a girl had requested a science kit. I was excited, because I'm a medical lab scientist. But when I went to find one, all the actual science ones were purely marketed to boys and the other ones were all pink cosmetics bullshit. It just really irked me.
Allison Evans That’s the worst? It’s like girls can’t learn science or something!
IKR!!! The way the market portrays science for girls makes me want to spit
But so? Just because it was marketed towards boys doesn't mean girls still can't play it.
Meme Cremé It’s irksome because of the message it portrays: That young girls are meant to be obsessed with makeup and pretty things, whilst boys get to explore and learn new things. It’s true those products can be given to a young girl, but the harm comes from the perpetuating of this stereotype.
Allison Evans
Alright

Mech eng is so exciting. I would love to study it one day for real. (As opposed to watching some videos.)
I'm studying to be an Electrical Engineer at a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) University where only %14 of the students are female. I agree %100 with the points you made in this video. Being feminine and being smart are not mutually exclusive.
I am a female civil engineer.. and I watch this channel 😆🤓
I'm studying as a Biotechnology major, so I absolutely love learning about all types of science and how things work 😍❤🔬 I hate the "science" the media tries to sell to those who don't know what it really means and how it really works. 😕😝 it's better to do your own research (with proven and published papers!) than to follow and accept what someone says when they don't really know what they're talking about.

This is a total fail as a "science" tool; maybe they should include a book about how polish works from a chemistry standpoint? And I totally agree, as a grown ass woman, that you can be interested in makeup and glitter and perfume and stuff and be smart. My friend is a science teacher and he asked me how to make perfume (a hobby) so he could explain how the base alcohol works in it to throw the scent. I thought it was a neat idea!

If it gets more girls interested in science what’s the problem?
Erica Roberts Because vanity beauty cosmetics isn't real science.

I think this has the potential to be good for teaching science... IF THEY ACTUALLY EXPLAINED THE SCIENCE BEHIND IT
Why they didnt explain this as a function of surface tension, viscocity, or even color spectrum/light waves is a missed opportunity. Science is everywhere-even in pretty and fun things. Dumbing it down and making it about chemistry without explaining it further is an afront to the product's audience. I think any intelligent potential customer can see it as a cheap ploy and not scientifically honest.
Alethea Kelly I like your explanation better. Plus it seems whoever tried to explain the science is that it is impossible to "blend" nail polish as water and nail polish does not mix as nailpolish is like oil. It's hydrophobic.

it bothers me so much too when companies do the fakey science garbage, like as if girls/ladies require nail kits or makeup kits to get them interested in science. like, good you wanna get girls interested in science but its kinda insulting especially since they didn't include anything remotely science related (aside from the word "beaker" and mentioning gravity, lmfao). science buzzwords in a product doesnt make it a science kit, nor does it really introduce girls to actual science (such as idk teaching them about the chemical makeup of kinds of nail polish and the like).
like maybe those normal science kits (like the slime kits, crystal kits, rock and mineral kits, and so on) shouldnt only be advertised towards boys. put little girls on the packaging too instead of just boys, have girls and boys in the commercials, show kids that science is for everyone. that's how you get girls into science. the thought that little girls dont like to think or learn about "gross things" and only are interested in nails, hair, and makeup is quite frankly insulting.
i get a little carried away lmfao oops, but i feel so strongly towards this because god damn science is cool and it really hurt growing up to be told by teachers and adults that girls just dont do science, or that girls are bad at science and shouldn't try, or that its not ladylike to be interested in a "boy's subject". having your interests crushed by adults you look up to as a young kid is a horrible feeling, and it's not fair for girls to be discouraged from following their interests or passions just because it's science (or even math), just as it's not fair for boys to be discouraged from following their interests in things seen as traditionally feminine (even though it happens less and boys generally are given higher marks or paid better when they DO end up in a woman dominated subject or field). it's simply not fair for any child to be discouraged from following their interests or learning about a subject.
I feel you, but there is a science to it called cosmetology, but in this way, they are down grading it.
shardain AMEN! Science is interesting and important for the progress of our society. Gender roles have no meaning in it. Let everyone be interested in science and get girls interested without telling them that their experiments have to be 'girly'
shardain that was the longest freaking comment ever... lmao 😂 🤣
oh yeah, totally, jade! i didn't mean to downplay cosmetology at all, haha. kits like these are just not anywhere close, they're just an extremely watered down form that doesn't teach a single thing beyond 'drop the nailpolish in the water and GRAVITY does a thing! but we're not gonna explain how it works, it just does because its SCIENCE!' and that's just simply uninteresting and not informative.
shardain i could say so much but I'm just gonna say TESTIFY and leave.
I think Cristine under estimates her intelligence to often. She always says something really smart and intelligent but then she says she is probably wrong, only in one time she said that she was wrong, she has plenty of knowledge and she says things that are smart. I don't know if she is joking or she really doesn't believe she is smart but Cristine is much likely to be the smartest youtuber I am watching. I really believe she probably is between the top 5 smartest beauty bloggers on youtube.

I love the idea of the science of makeup, like showing what is in it and maybe having a cardboard microscope (a legit and really useful tool for cheap) and showing what it looks like on different surfaces. Or even the history of makeup and why certain makeups aren’t used any more. I just like the idea of showing different ways someone can learn about something they might use in their everyday lives
As a girl who is into Engineering and Math and Science and stuff, but also loves doing her nails and makeup and lookin cute, I think that this is kinda dumbing down science for girls into beauty. I think that they could expand out from just kits for nails, makeup, etc to real science, y’know? ♥️👩🔬♥️
It's actually a product from Project MC^2 a Netflix show about incredibly smart and capable young girls who work for a secret organisation as spies. They also like being girly and watermarbled on an episode once. While explaining the science behind it. The product is a reference to that episode. It wouldn't make sense to make a rocket or something cause that wasn't in the episodes was it.
Ankita Jose that’s actually pretty cool! I haven’t ever heard of the show before, but that’s good to know. Thanks! ❤️
@@Emily-wq4dn it's on Netflix if you're interested
I love science and i would love ACTUAL science cuz when im in science class im just there like 'i am so bored i understand this can we do anything FUN. Oh wait haha no we cant cuz im the only one that watches "science" videos on youtube.'
Obviosly
BeccatPlush Nya don’t forget the product is for little girls, it’s just a way to get them interested in science for when they grow up.
I keep forgetting she's basically an actual scientist.

Sofia Hassan 200th like. so satisfying!!

My mom is a science teacher, so I have been exposed to science from a young age, mostly the chemistry projects she had me help with to show her class. I also love beauty, makeup, nails, all that fun stuff. I have had people in my school comment about how they didn’t want me in their group for projects, because “she won’t want to get her hands dirty”, jokes on all of them, I recently won a district wide project award for my research project, and accepted the award in pink holo nail polish. I love that you talked about your job, it’s cool to hear you talk about that side of your life!
I'm loving Simply WOKElogical!!!! There shouldn't be "girl's science" and "boy's science," there's just science! And the boys always get real science when girls just get "mix your own makeup--the scientific way!"
MusicFeedsYourSoul...to be fair girls are free to choose either, but often they don't of their own choice.
Don't agree with these toys either, but they wouldn't exist if girls didn't want to use them - if a girl wanted to learn real science that's just what they'd do.
I hate when I ask for science things for Christmas and I get "mix your own makeup!" or "magic science nail polish kit!" It makes me really sad because I see my brother with an analyzing kit that I asked for.
This is so true I normally choose all the "boy"things (pencil case, back pack, ect) because the dinosaurs and monsters are so much better that the unicorns and faries. Boys get the proper science and girls get the 'Makeup science! Make your own lip gloss and purfume!'
I think the company can totally incorporate actual science in this kind of "science" kit. For example, the part you put your fingers under the fan, they explain why it dries the polish faster, basically, the fan blows away solvent molecule in the air and lowers the vapor pressure and fastens evaporation. They can also include why the polish floats, why lipstick melts in heat. It would be really cool if they can include this kind of details.
Nelly Tang Yes! I even see an opportunity for a lesson on cohesion, adhesion, and surface tension here. "It's gravity" is really just a lazy attempt at tying the toy to science so that parents feel good about buying it.
Nelly Tang right they'll read that thing while drying their nails? Even if they do still petty
I believe they cannot give explanations like this because the show is geared towards 7-year olds.
But the toy is geared towards KIDS so it's likely they'll skip that part of read that info lol. Actual science experiments like the volcano experiment or cloud in a bottle will stimulate their minds and will actually force them to read the instructions to know if they're doing it right
the end part was so deep...
yasss cristine!!!!
Yess

I appreciate you getting all serious at the end of the video, I’m a female (20 years old) and I’m a mechanic. I think it’s important not to push beauty on young girls, yes let them have their hobbies of course, but show them there is more out there than just looking pretty. I can speak from my experiences and that is I didn’t get into makeup and nails until about three months ago. (My makeup looks like a raccoon did it,but we will get there) I personally have fun with it and don’t take it seriously.
I'm a civil engineering major (girl) and love your channel and obsessed with cats & painting my nails. Many people when I tell them I'm an engineering major are so shook to see that I'm "girly" and not a "nerd". I honestly think STEM cannot be pushed onto young girls, especially dumbing it down like this but the stereotype of STEM programs must end.
Vanessa Galeone i think gender stereotypes need to end in general. I get what you're saying tho. I'm a Mech. Engr major, and it's not always fun sitting in class alone being one of the only females. Let alone no one talks to you because they are intimidated with your not so stereotypical looks.
Vanessa Galeone I am studying computer science and engineering n I also do all the girly stuff...
I'm a medical engineer student and I hate to hear: 'Wow, you're a girl in engineering!' and 'but you're so girly!' . (50% of my year are female but okay)
Even though I am really bad at STEM I still agree with you 😊
I agree with you. I feel we have more than one stereotype to kill so STEM field can become more attractive to people in general.
1 - "STEM field is for nerds; being a nerd is uncool." This sucks because it drives away people away. Nobody wants to be uncool on purpose, specially teenagers (in my country, you don't go to college before uni, so you're 18 or even 16 when you start going to uni). Also, it makes people believe you somehow have to be already a genius to be in STEM field, since "nerds" are supposedly already pretty smart. I agree it's best to study something you're already good at, but you don't have to be the straight A student to at least try getting into it through highschool clubs and special courses.
2- "Girly women are not smart / anyone who takes care of their image is superficial and dumb" Just hell no. It's both demeaning to people who take care of their health and appereance, by calling them dumb based on something that is practically a hobby, and telling smart people that the beauty industry is not designed for them.

Trying to break stereotypes by reinforcing stereotypes. *What logic.*
Tiger.panther This Project Mc2 crap is SO PATRONIZING. THE IRONY.
I honestly have no Problem with these kind of stereotypes - it s just biology and completly normal, that men and women think and feel in a different way. These Male/female stereotypes are not just "stereotypes", they are based on reality and biology (what does not mean, that everybody has to be a stereotypical man or woman). Eanstead of fighting against nature and trying to make men into women and women into men, it would be much better to use these gendertypical stuff (Like nailart for Girls or Car racing for boys) as a base for Toys, that really give kids a learning experience and motivates them to dig deeper into a special craft or sciece or whatever. F.e. boys could be motivated to learn languages (something females prefer) with the help of cars. Or you could motivate girls to learn about physics (naturally prefered by males) with the help of Nail Art. ....but in a real way, not like this stuff.
@@rapsi1322 are you seriously trying to claim that nail art is biological?!?
@@radmoonable Have you read anything I wrote?? It seams like you just took two words from my whole post, put them together in sentence and act like it s a conclusion of my thought!?
@@radmoonable But anyway - to answer your question without repeating my whole first post: it is biological, that females prefer stuff like Nail Art over doing IT stuff or whatever. That s just how our brains work and not something "I want to claim".

When I was a little girl my favorite "toy" was a kids microscope that came with glass slides, tools, liquid to keep the samples still and everything. I spent hours outside finding things I could put under my microscope. I'm just thankful I had parents who bought me both dolls and science related things without even asking, they just encouraged both in me. That's how it should be. There never has to be a distinction between "girl toy" and "science toy". They're all just toys.
