I'm not sure, but didn't you actually simply show that if there is no continuous path from V1 to V2 then they have to be disjoint? Somehow I don't get why you drew an example of V1 but not an example of V2. If you drew both of them that should look like two separate blobs (am assuming that V1 and V2 are disjoint). If there is a continuous path - such as the interval [a,b] - in that disjoint union V1 U V1 (with a dot over the U) than that path has to be either in V1 or in V2 but can't be partially in both of them. Because then it wouldn't be continuous. I'm guessing here.

Thank you its much clear to me now. But I still not find my concerned point. In homogenization theory author of "MULTISCALE MODELING FOR THE BIOELECTRIC ACTIVITY OF THE HEART∗" said omega is comprised of two connected domains omega1 and omega2. and i am not getting how these are connected? can you check and answer me plz?

    Union is dual to intersection.
Intervals, connectedness = continuous or smooth. Disconnectedness = discrete, distinct or quantum.
Thesis is dual to anti-thesis creates converging thesis or synthesis -- the time independent Hegelian dialectic.
Thesis (the future) is dual to anti-thesis (the past) synthesizes the present or the 'now'.
The disjoint union of the past and the future synthesizes the present, space is dual to time -- Einstein.
The future is dual to the past -- time duality! Your mind is joining or connecting the past to the future!
Being is dual to non-being creates becoming -- Plato.
Concepts are dual to percepts -- the mind duality of Immanuel Kant.
The intellectual mind/soul (concepts) is dual to the sensory mind/soul (percepts) -- the mind duality of Thomas Aquinas.
Mind (intangible) is dual to matter (tangible) -- Descartes.
Duality creates reality! Time is a dual concept!
"Always two there are" -- Yoda.
