This is a guide made to explain the major mechanics of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax 2.5, which is getting new ports this month!
It also features some tips, ranging from P4AU specific things, to general fighting game advice.

CORRECTION: AOAs and Guard Cancel attacks are not rare, I just don't see them often so I made the wrong assumption. Sorry about that one.
I FORGOT TO MENTION: Moves with a "!!" bubble are unblockable.
Heya, just came in to add some things that i did not see in the video (specifically at 4:46). Which is that air blocking can also be punished by common air unblockable moves like most of the casts 2B moves. Air unblockable just means it can't be blocked in the air and if you get hit by an air unblockable while trying to air block then a yellow exclamation mark will appear to tell you that move was an air unblockable, it is also more dangerous to be hit by an air unblockable than being hit by an air throw since most of the cast can get a combo of one of those moves while only some characters can get a combo of an air throw. I just wanted to say that since air blocking is mostly countered by air unblockable moves and not air throws. Another thing to note is that at (10:55) it is mentioned that shadow characters does not have instant kills, but SHO Minazuki also does not have an instant kill, so if anyone tries to instant kill with sho just know that he does not have one. This is honestly an amazing and well made video by you liz! Well made for beginner P4AU Players!
Yeah I forgot about air-unblockables honestly, so thanks for pointing it out! Alsp I honestly didnt know SHO didnt have an IK, guess it never popped in my head that he shouldnt. But yeah, thanks for the advice and Im glad you enjoyed the video :)
This is probably my first traditional fighting game and MAN, my brain is having a hard time retaining most of this info, maybe it's because this is the third video I've watched, also I'm still having a hard time grasping all the fighting game terms.
Another thing I'm having trouble with is trying to remember which button combos do what, like bursts, throws, sweeps, etc., I know about the shortcuts, but I'm probably gonna have to experiment to figure out what's most comfortable, I still find myself swapping between D-pad and Joystick mid-battle... XD
Great video, I didn't know max burst restored SP, that's pretty handy! I'm probably gonna come back and watch it again later when my brain retains what I just learned!
Yeah when you just get started there is a lot of stuff to learn up front, but as you take one thing at a time, it becomes easier and easier.
As long as you try to do one thing every game, you will get a hang of the basic mechanics pretty quickly.
Just remember not to stress about complicated things.
Motion inputs and button combinations come with time, you have to practice combos outside of battle, so just focus on blocking better and playing neutral well in your first game.

Got any tips to get super attacks easy without holding or super canceling
I mean you dont really want to get supers out without super cancelling
Best thing supers are used for is finishing off combos which you need super cancels for
But Id say best thing you can do is just go to practice mode and try doing the input as much as possible
Motion inputs just take time to get used to but once you're good at them you'll be good at them forever
