    Germany & Netherlands, two countries who could be rugby powerhouses if the sport could capture the imagination of the next generation. Football dominates there.

      Germany has quite a big market for indoor handball, ice hockey as well. Plus a moderate one for Basketball and American Football.
      Rugby is competing against more than just football for attention.
      American football aside where it is about par it is behind all of the others in the pecking order.

    The European championship games deserve to be shown on the BBC & ITV, it’d be good for the teams in the championship to get to play at least one or two of their games in the big stadiums with big crowd, also having a tier 2 game as the opening game at a double header event at a 6 nation games would at least show 6 nation rugby fans the level at which the teams play at.

    Feels like there are always a few European countries that are commonly associated with one sport, but could definitely be better at another one if they applied themselves more. Germany and the Netherlands both check this off for rugby, that's for sure.

    Was watching the game live. The clock for the first half was off a few minutes but more importantly: the countdown on the yellow card was missing (annoying from a spectator point of view).

    You should give a little more interest to this championship. The winner would have the right to face the last of the 6 nations tournament in a play-off to try to access the tournament.

    What's wrong with the referees?
    A disastrous performance. So far every decision against Germany. It's a shame that something like that is already deciding the game. Can't you find better referees?

    • @nedludd7622
      @nedludd7622 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      39-13 and it was the fault of the ref for you. The first three penalties shown were for Germany. The fourth was for Netherlands and was quickly called for a foul in the front line, before the action. So Netherlands knew they had a free play. It ended with a penalty kick.

    • @Vincentofvega
      @Vincentofvega 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      You cannot say "every decision" was against you and expect to be taken seriously. The refereeing looked fine to me, it's not an easy job. Better team won. Good to see interest picking up in these countries though. It's going to take a long time to catch up with the top tiers but I hope they preserve.

      Was visible throughout the entire game.
      Of course, you can't see much in the highlights. But immediately after the first kick on contact, the Dutchman loses the ball forward, for example.

    • @Abadon05
      @Abadon05 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nedludd7622 Germany has definitely made far too many mistakes of its own, no question about it. But the refereeing was even worse and if you have the feeling right from the start with every 50:50 decision that the referee is deciding against you, that certainly doesn't contribute to a good game. It was definitely a decision of the game and simply disappointing that a better referee couldn't be found at such a level.
