Thought about selling my sp-202 a few times, but there's no good reason to sell it. The other multiple samplers I have are more powerful but 202 is a good tool. I regret selling the 303 and 555. Great video, thanks.
I’ve had one of these for almost a decade but never used it, it’s was given to me by a friend before he moved he had also gotten it from someone else. Now the musical journey that is my life has brought me to a place were it can be of use, thanks for sharing you’re experience with us it’s highly appreciated
Great video as usual, Jon! Would be great to do a video/tutorial on how you connect all your pedals and use them as outboard gear to enhance your composition workflow. Abrazos!
@@JonMeyer I have a SP404 mark 2, but I'm old school and I want get a 202 to do exactly what I saw you doing here. I think there are so many interesting ways you can use this machine that has nothing to with making beats.. so I'm glad I came across this!
Thanks as always Jon. I've been thinking of doing some vocal sampling stuff on a future track, so this is all pretty interesting to me. I also see that you have the Enzo Meris there. Have you ever put piano through it? I always wondered if it might work as kind of a live backing to piano....?
i LOVE the fact that you are using a mirror as your facecam hahahaha ♥
Stole that idea from a True Cuckoo video. Thanks for watching Daniel!
How are you connecting the sampler to your pedals?
This was the first sampler I ever bought back when it dropped.
The 2mb card cost close to 175 at the time 😅
Ours don’t have yellow pads 👊🏾👍🏾

I'm working on it! Hope to have it ready to share soon.
This the way to use a 202! Great!
Thanks! Glad i pulled it of storage.

It's nice to see I wasn't alone in using the SP-202 for vocals. Did this big time in early 2000's.
Yea, it's a ton of fun!
Maan I loved my 202 when I had one. Pitch, filter, and the lo-fi & lo-fi 2. That thing added so much grit to my samples
Yea, definitely still useful.
Nice. The SP404 too! LOl. Koala Sampler (on iOS, not sure if it's on desktop) is a great app the can emulate this workflow.
Thanks for the info! I need to check that out.
@@JonMeyer no problem!
Nice to have some buttons to press and some knobs to turn, certainly adds another level. Plus it's fun.
Absolutely!
really cool stuff thanks for sharing!
You bet!
Oh I liked this one. Nothing like a tactile feel.
I agree!

I'm still new to the Meris. It's a strange beast. I'll try piano soon.
@@JonMeyer cool, let us know how you get on. :)
Oh man those drums sound huge @0:41
Thanks, Charlie!
This is soo old, but so refreshing to hear. Why do I keep hearing Axel Foley’s voice 😉
Axel!?!? Oh man, I should keep quiet!
@@JonMeyer sorry, I should have been more specific. The sampler reminds me of the type of synth and drum sounds on the old Beverly Hills Cop film.
Sounds terrible
ok cool
❤️
love it! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you, Owen!! I enjoy your IG comedy, btw. Keep 'em coming!
Brilliant stuff!
Thanks, Lance!
awesome video!
Thanks for checking it out!
Do you have a smartmedia card in the device?
I do not. If I used it more often I might try and locate one, but they are pricey!
@@JonMeyer little over rated. I got one and rarely use it
Love vintage kit. Thanks for sharing.
Glad I didn't get rid of it all those years ago!
Not vintage
There's a couple of points in the vocal pitching that remind me of the original Utopia soundtrack... something I've been trying to get.
that was so clever what you did with your vocal chops, gonna steal that trick!
Do it!
