There's something so special about Autumn and it's sweater weather and spices in the air. As with Spring and it's sweater weather. Both a favorite time of yr. I used to catch chipmunks when I was a kid, had one as a pet, he loved cooked cabbage.
Today I decorate for fall. I have to force myself to wait for September 1! Summer decorations are put away and fall takes its place. I usually go to the thrift store to see what I can add to fall. Fall is my favorite season followed by winter.

I love watching and sharing the changing seasons with both of you. Autumn always brings so many memories of my childhood: the smell of burning leaves (now strictly prohibited in most areas), the rattling sound of coal falling down a chute when it was delivered to someone's home in anticipation of those chilly days and nights ahead, going to the neighborhood Mom and Pop store after school and seeing the home-made taffy lollipops that were a true sign that Autumn and Halloween were close at hand. What was not to love about Every. Single. Thing. in this video...my mind is swirling with ideas! I'm looking forward to the temps cooling down, so I can start baking. This month, making a 'tea breads' list for autumn sounded fun. There's always a surplus of zucchini, so zucchini bread, plain banana bread, banana-raspberry-chocolate chip bread [to make french toast with], pumpkin bread, cranberry-orange bread [they go good with tea], limpa [Mmm! my mouth is watering already - LOL!], rusks [ours are rolls - so good homemade!], and I have a dutch oven to make round loaves of sourdough [I've seen some no-knead artisan bread recipes with apple or pear in them - slurp! and there are single things and combos to add for a savory twist, like cheeses, olives, garlic, rosemary, black pepper, bacon, etc. in them]. This way, there's something nice to bring when we go visiting, or when someone comes over we can have an impromptu treat! Oh, happy autumn! I can't wait to start catching up with you!

Ahhhh… this is so beautiful. I used to pass the sign pointing to Sleepy Hollow when I drove my daughter to her rheumatology appointments in Valhalla, and Fall was my favorite time to do so. Autumn in the Hudson Valley is absolute ✨magic✨
