Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 56 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix them even in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive 10 year back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, to instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and bad-ass musicians to boot. Currently celebrating their 10th anniversary they are on tour right now in the US. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in maid cafe's. It's a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see is NOT what you get.
Band-Maid is currently on their Tenth Anniversary tour. Their musicianship is top notch and their live shows are a pure joy to experience. They played at Lallapalooza today: I watched the stream and they were on fire. They are definitely the happiest hard rock act touring today. Watch their live videos; the Maids know how to engage an audience, keep them moving, and get them singing along. Keep sampling Band-Maid. They have around 140 songs in their catalog from which they can make up a set list; so their concerts never disappoint. I tell people to go to Band-Maid's TH-cam channel and start sampling songs at random. These ladies are astounding.
Band Maid is one of my favorite bands. While the music videos are pretty good, they really excel in their live concerts. The chemistry they have between them and with the crowd is always amazing. Their energy is very infectious and always brings a smile to your faces. The official live videos have also typically outstanding audio quality. I'd recommend Freedom, onset, Dice, and (again) Domination. As a music video, I also really like 'Manners' from their latest album.
Seriously, best rock band I discovered the last 30 years. And they are not just some one hit wonder but doing this for 10 years now. Getting better and better and better. Suggestions: live videos "Puzzle" and "Play", or music videos "Blooming" and "Dice". Thanks 🤘🏻🙂
Welcome aboard, Ladies. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 180 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (125 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html) And many songs are represented with 50 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts: ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” th-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/w-d-xo.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” th-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/w-d-xo.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. “P and D⁴” 30+ Photo Collage videos at www.youtube.com/@PinD2/videos And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 29 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 31 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 31 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 32 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 30 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. Have you heard the phrase "tip of the iceberg"? Well, that's a MASSIVE understatement when it comes to The Maids, unless the iceberg is the size of Mt Everest, or more appropriately Olympus Mons...on Mars. Probably should try an Official Live Video next. Pick any song. These ladies, this band is the best most complete group of musicians I've seen...ever. Buckle-up, it's going to be a joyous ride! Thanks so much! 🕊

Ending at the Yokohama Arena this November in front of 17,000 fans. Also the Ladies have just released a NEW single and Music Video for the Song "Shambles" which is the outro music for the Netflix Anime "Kengan Ashura". And if you wish to see/hear the FULL power of the Ladies of Band-Maid, I highly recommend you watch any LIVE video of theirs. The live video for the song Domination you just watched is even BETTER. And shows why many of us consider these five humble Japanese Ladies are the BEST Currently Touring Live Band.
@@TehPhysics Why yes, there is more. Thankee for asking. Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead. Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition. Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition. Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music. Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well) So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance. And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD! ALL HAIL BAND MAID!!!!! Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning" On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"... The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited) This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their TH-cam channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill. Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid. If you would like to know more about the 5 Ladies of Band-Maid, please feel free to ask. Either in a video or in the comment section. We will do our best to answer any questions you may have.
They kick ass, don't they? Their latest music video is *"Shambles."* They just did a version of their song *"Hate?"* at both the Lollapalooza aftershow late Thursday night and their set yesterday afternoon. It's a great song to start with, but they added an extended bass/drums/guitar solo section in the middle that makes you realize you're watching the minor leagues here in this video. Starting this week they are playing Minneapolis, Denver, Salt Lake City, Portland, Spokane, Sacramento, Anaheim, and Mexico City next. *GO SEE THEM.* Don't live a life of regret. This is not an overstatement or exaggerated for effect. *GO SEE THEM THIS WEEK!!*
Band-Maid is a fantastic rock band, my favorite band with no close second. Check out more... oh and their live stuff is even better! Thanks for the reaction.
Oh my gosh, you have opened the floodgates. Why do you love this? Because they may be the best rock group in the world today (I think they are). They are certainly the most creative band since the Beatles. (Yes, I stand by that statement!) You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the band: Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 29 years old MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 30 years old Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 31 years old Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 31 years old Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 32 years old Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through. She envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal. She recruited Kanami, after finding a Kanami guitar cover on line; Kanami then recruited Akane, who recruited MISA. Akane and MISA had been students together at the Tokyo Music Academy. The group decided they needed more vocal “oomph”, and collectively recruited Saiki. Miku didn't know how to play guitar when they started, so Kanami has been teaching her. She's become good so fast that she is really adding to the music mix, and Maidiacs are daring to dream of a dual shred. The band was struggling early on, and in 2014, even as the label was considering dropping them, they posted a music video, “Thrill” which went viral globally. When they realized what was going on, it gave them the momentum to forge ahead, and they have now done multiple tours of Europe and the U.S. and are building a global fanbase who call themselves the Maidiacs. They have released seven full albums, as well as several EPs, singles and music videos. They have put out around 160 songs, covering a wide variety of styles and sounds, without any duds. They combine a punk vibe with instrumental virtuosity (two things that are often seen as being incompatible), and have done some amazing progressive-rock songs with a metal edge to them. They toured the U.S. in 2022 and sold out 14 cities in less than 48 hours. Their fan base skews heavily to actual practicing musicians. Some of those followed the band to multiple dates and documented everything on youtube-some of the footage is hilarious. I’ve seen them twice (2019 and 2022) and their shows are truly life-reaffirming. They are touring the U.S. twice more in 2023; So far no announcements of another European tour but it seems likely in 2024. Band-Maid are that rare band that sound perfect live, even better than in the studio. Like someone already posted, this is also my fav rock band I've discovered in the past roughly 30 years. This is a world class band of musicians that just happen to be all-female and from Japan. It's always fun to see someone new encounter these artists, as they still have no idea just how deep the waterhole goes after first stepping into it. The band's catalog so far (10 years together) is very large and diverse, touching many different genres, and is famous for its quality musicality. The band has a Brian Wilson-level talented songwriter in its lead guitar, and is a tight-knit group of friends that create music in a supportive, drug-free setting (they love alcohol tho lol). It's esp fun to watch American women discover this band, as there simply has never been a comparable all-female native English-speaking band with musical chops to rival the best of the male or mixed bands (there are others from Japan in this category (all-female) in slightly different styles and genres). I'd recommend an earlier, slower song of theirs - a mid tempo ballady song - called Daydreaming if you're interested in discovering more.
Oh ladies, you have no idea, many people will tell you that they are the best rock band on the planet & I agree !! At 1:45, CST today, they will be playing at Lallapolooza & on August 12th, i will see them in Spokane Wa on their 10 anniversary tour ! They put on one of the best live shows i've ever been to. 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
These ladies are killer musicians and put on a great live show. If ya'll want to check out more from them, maybe try the live versions of "Freedom" or "Wonderland"!
Good reaction. The Live videos are 1000% better! Band-Maid excels at performing live. Another good reaction suggestion - Brave New World Revisited by Bridear (another all girl Japanese band).

Not your fault as you didn't know but BAND-MAID's Domination deserves a reaction do-over with the live version here - th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html And after Domination, it only gets better from here: Freedom (2020 Live) - th-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/w-d-xo.html Blooming - th-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/w-d-xo.html Shambles - th-cam.com/video/lf0mQOiu8J8/w-d-xo.html Warning! - th-cam.com/video/9yD3IqrLtPk/w-d-xo.html Choose me - th-cam.com/video/MZIJ2vFxu9Y/w-d-xo.html Secret My Lips - th-cam.com/video/1Vuca7V-5Ec/w-d-xo.html Secret Maiko Lips - th-cam.com/video/NNHGABwme50/w-d-xo.html From Now On - th-cam.com/video/a6ZSvmnkS00/w-d-xo.html
This is the very same MV that got me hooked on Band-Maid. And much to my shock & surprise, after I'd poured through the rest of their catalog (up to that point), I couldn't believe the consistency of their songwriting abilities and stage presence. And since that time, they've release all kinds of absurdly great new material. They're a diverse band: hard rock is their core sound, but you'll get mixes of ballads, mid-tempo, punk, acoustic, funk, acoustic, etc. If you want the latest, they just released a new single called Shambles; Warning and Afterlife (great songs & and fun videos); or Endless Story or Daydreaming for mid-tempo ballad-y songs. They are doing the second leg of a US tour right now starting with Lollapalooza in Chicago!
As you've missed out on the live version of Domination as your initial reaction (that was what got me hooked back in April 2020), I'd suggest checking out Freedom (live) as your next look at this amazing bunch of talented musicians*. You'll see a band having a REALLY great time on stage while rocking out. I don't think I've ever seen any band look like they enjoyed playing live as much as BAND-MAID. * - though they don't really have any 'bad' songs.
BAND-MAID live songs Freedom, Domination, Thrill, No God, Dice, Play, Choose Me, Turn Me On, Real Existence.. Girls, its time for another TOP all female Japanese Rock/Metal Band after BAND-MAID LOVEBITES new songs Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver, live 2023 The Hammer Of Wrath... NEMOPHILA new songs Rise, Night Flight, Revive, Seize The Fate, Dissension, Raitei... HANABIE songs We Love Sweets, Be The GAL, Pardon Me, TOUSOU(Run Away), NEET GAME... GACHARIC SPIN song Mind Set... TRIDENT-JAPAN songs Voltage, No Regret, Continue...
Glad that you finally listened to BAND MAID. I suggested them to you a while ago along with "LOVEBITES" and "NEMOPHILA". Would also like to add "GACHARIC SPIN" to that list, any of their songs, they are all killer. Put your seatbelts on and keep your hands inside vehicle at all times!!!!!!!!
Agreed! NEMOPHILA would be a fantastic band to react to. And if I could point out a song I would say HYPNOSIS, Dissension, RAITEI, or I am the Storm (I know, it`s a cover from Show-ya. But Show-ya is also a full female band from japan from the 80`s so I think it could be even better!).
A "busy" video to say the least. But I am intrigued. Bilingual, so it can appeal to both the East and West fans. Nice touch. A better wake-me-up than truck stop coffee!!
Keep checking them out - you won’t be disappointed; this is but a tiny slice of their talent! Touring US in August!! Truly one of the best rock bands in decades; you’ll see! 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎼😀✌🏼
Great reaction. Japanese women are currently turning out the best music I've heard since... ever. Band-Maid are totally great musicians and characters. The Japanese and English in the same song happens a lot in Japanese rock and metal. Makes it really interesting. Please also consider reacting to another top band of Japanese women, Nemophila. I'd recommend starting with their song "RAITEI".
They just released a new single music video if you wanna jump on the hype while its still here lol they already have 100k+ views on it in under 24 hours! BAND-MAID - Shambles
Don't let the costumes fool you these ladies are seasoned professionals ! Band Maid is the best live band i have ever seen =) Check out "Real Existence" Live or the "Blooming" MV Thanks ✌🤘
Aww, too bad you didn't check out the live version. It's cool tho cause you're gonna react to more, right? Am I right?! Yeah you are. Gonna have to say, they are one of the best rock bands to emerge in the last 30 years or so. Straight out of Japan. They are coming on tour in the US on their second leg of their 10 year anniversary. I got to see them earlier this year in Austin and it was an amazing show. And if you think this is great, you should see what else is coming out of Japan. This is just the tip of the iceberg! Try some other all female groups like, Lovebites - Stand And Deliver Hanabie- We Love Sweets Nemophila- Revive Babymetal- Divine Attack
Welcome to the fandom! Yeah gotta agree with most here. Should've done the live video! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Bubble, Manners, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
The female version of Loudness. Absolutely great. Thanks for the introduction to them. All of them are great at their crafts and you can hear the intricate rhythms and beats on those drums for sure. Female Vinne Paul!!! LOL
Hello, hello, hello, dear ladies. Glad you discovered Band Maid with Domination (Girl power😉) an excellent song among the more than 120 they performed and played. They have been composing, arranging and writing themselves for 7 years now. I hope you will react on other Band Maid songs because they need the support of the Princesses (name of their female fans). It's simply the best current rock band in the world. THANKS. By the way, they just released a new song: Shambles.
Welcome to the Maidiacs, ladies. Cheers from Norway. I fell down this pigeon hole (you get it eventually) 18 months ago and I don't want to come up again. 99% of the comments would be like "You should have done the Official Live one", "Why didn't you do the live one" btw they are right, you should have.
They have songs that will get you moving songs to get you groovin songs that will shake you apart and so gs that will bring you to tears because they are the living legends known as band maid this only the beginning and they are getting ready to dominate in chicago this afternoon
They have complete control of their music. From creation to the order of the songs on their albums. They are performing at the Lallapalzoo this weekend in Chicago. I think they are the first Japanese band to perform at Lallapalooza, certainly the first All Female.
That is true up to a point. Currently they have complete control, but that wasn't always the case. Some of their earlier stuff was written by other people and the company they debuted under held a lot of creative control over their music. It wasn't until their Just Bring It album, released in 2017 (3 years after debut) that they started to get control of their music.
Excellent reaction ladies. As a long time Band Maid fan I am so pleased to see women discover our special ladies. One of the most talented group of musicians I have had the privilege of watching and listening to. Ten years together and just getting started. I agree that a live performance should come next and then they have just dropped a new vid called Shambles. It is a hard rock banger. But just pick a video and I promise you will not be disapointed.
New sub here. Welcome to the world of Band Maid! I will leave it to the other keyboard warriors to fill you in on the history and members of the band. All I will say is these ladies rock! Their song composition and musicianship are off the charts and they cross genres even mid-song. And while their music videos are all superb, Band Maid really shines in their live performances. I would encourage you to check out their official live videos on their channel, including "Domination". Or you could start with the music video that really introduced Band Maid to the world, "Thrill". Regardless, if you all plan to make Band Maid a regular feature on your reaction channel, get ready for a wild ride. Many reactors have found that each new Band Maid song they covered has instantly become their new favorite Band Maid song. There may be a song or two that you might not have a connection, but there are truly no duds in their 10 year catalog. Enjoy!
I Think you should have a look at LOVEBITES as well, another Japanese all girl band, I recommend the video of Holy War as your first, by the way they sing in English
Are you kidding NEW Band? They are on their 10th Anniversary Tour and have 7 studio albums, several dozand music videos and 1000's of live performances to large audiences from 1,500 to 15,000. They just performed at lollapalooza in California twice! They'll do more shows and in Sept go back to Japan to finish the tour. Nov 26 is last show of tour at 15,000 seat Yokohama Arena. Sold out. Do research pls.
Thank you for nice reaction. I recommend Live "Turn Me On" (Zepp Tokyo) th-cam.com/video/l9ibUQ-V-Z4/w-d-xo.html "DICE" (MV) & "YOLO" (MV) th-cam.com/video/ZpAYnVJX9CY/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/wKZbzcUdY1g/w-d-xo.html "On set" (Live) th-cam.com/video/mVrN-j_Uc0U/w-d-xo.html
Japan has a ton of all female rock and metal bands. More than the rest of the world combined. There is even an Anime about an all girl rock band called 'Bocchi the Rock'.
Japan has a lot of all-female bands. BAND-MAID, LOVEBITES, Babymetal, Nemophila, and Gacharic Spin are my favorites depending on which one I listened to last. All of them are vastly different from each other but they're all worth checking out.
Here are some links. "Raitei" by Nemophila th-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/w-d-xo.html "Mindset" by Gacharic Spin th-cam.com/video/QmL0V667QzI/w-d-xo.html "Catch Me If You Can" by Babymetal th-cam.com/video/YiAJeKgufMk/w-d-xo.html "Hammer of Wrath" by LOVEBITES th-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/w-d-xo.html "Play" by BAND-MAID th-cam.com/video/3LxX_t4vg7U/w-d-xo.html
Three words, Live is Better! There are very few Band-Maid songs where the mv's are as good as the live versions. That said, mv or live, Band-Maid is fantastic!
Please give a listen to The Warning band. Three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. They have been a band for 10 years and they are only 18, 21, and 23. They had a pro shot concert from Teatro Metropolitan in Monterrey last year and every song is amazing. Try Survive, Disciple, Choke, Money, or their own version of Metallica's Enter Sandman. All their songs are amazing and I think you would enjoy them. All these can be found on their YT channel. Thanks.
These girls are so good. First time I heard Thrill and watched the video... I shed a tear it was so good. Thrill is my favorite Band Maid tune. It seems to be the most unconventional for them, but it rocks your face off! Lol.
If you enjoyed that ladies, may I suggest you also check out Gacharic Spin. Like Band-Maid, also from Japan. A few of my suggestions would be Mindset, I Wish I, Sekira Liar, Music Battler and Generation Gap just for starters. So glad you enjoyed Band-Maid. As I'm sure others have mentioned in the comments section, live versions of any one of Band-Maid's songs far and away surpass the studio renditions by a mile. And this is coming from a Maidiac.✌️❤️🤘🇦🇺
Just saw them live twice within 14 hours in Chicago - they're a once in a lifetime band, so check more of their stuff out. You know by the other comments by now that the live version is the one you need to see for Domination, but you really can pretty much pick any of their songs at random and it'll be great! Welcome to the best and most fun hard rock band in the world.
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors from Tokyo University. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Frequently snacks between songs. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Their "official MUSIC videos" are a good introduction, but their "official LIVE videos" are the real ones to see. Some bands are better in the studio, with all the post production help of engineers. But Band-Maid are insanely good, so the live shows outshine the music videos. They are so relaxed and happy in the live videos, yet mind bendingly good. Try "Domination", "Freedom", or "Play" from their World Domination Tour 2020 live in Shibuya.
ok i have nothing to say ummmm yeah i like they also did anime theme songs to Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table. carry on living from Quiz Tokiko-san Sense from Platinum End glory from Yuu Gi Ou: Vrains and they do sing in english and japanese
Most excellent you got round to checking them out - they are actually quite varied in their music - while predominantly " rock" based it' s influenced by many other genres from blues, through funk, folk, " anime", to harder metallic sounds. They also have acoustic performances that are delicious. Their channel, for those new to them, - www.youtube.com/@BANDMAID/featured - overall, their live shows are a significant notch up from the M/Vs, as they REALLY thrive on audience feedback 👍😎🥰 BTW, for those in the USoA, I believe there are still some dates from their tour available.
Oh, I forgot. They shot two MV under the name "Band-Maiko" (Geisha apprentice) in Kyoto, wearing traditional kimonos and showing us what maikos had to learn, e.g. playing the shamisen. Very colorful and special. Start with "Secret Maiko Lips" and enjoy!
Even though the music video is absolutely amazing, live version is 100 times better! Don’t trust me, try it yourself 😏
Truly is transformative.
Absolutely do the Live version of any Band-Maid song!
本当にそう思う
yes live version is awsome
Oh hell yes..
Well, 99.999% of BM fans know that the live version of Domination is the one to watch for reactions.
Indeed.
Definitely the live version.
Official live video.☝️
You're like my 2yr older brother so i must keep listening to the Maids like you said....Plus you're kawaii so i must comply :)
You have no idea what you just discovered! This is like striking a musical gold mine you never want to find the way out off!
As others have mentioned, it’s extremely worth going back and watching the live video version of this. 😊
Thanks 🤘🏻🙂
The Maids have a live version of this song. They are way better live and are back in the US celebrating their tenth anniversary.
They're even better live. Best hard rock band on the planet.
They have SO MANY great song. World class musicians.
But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html)
And many songs are represented with 50 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:
ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” th-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/w-d-xo.html

And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue:

If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.
For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
[BAND-MAID NEWS]

Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the Acoustic Christmas 2021, ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Those concerts are two of the best produced & performed concerts ever recorded, IMO. bandmaidprime.tokyo

The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
This is the first part of an information file I post to new reactors of Band-Maid. There is much more if you are interested.

Surely there is a sequel to this post 🤞😁
(Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid.
(Yes, I stand by that statement!)
You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the band:
Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 29 years old
MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 30 years old
Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 31 years old
Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 31 years old
Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 32 years old
Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through.
Here are more links:

They are absolutely amazing
Ten years,120 plus song, five amazing maids the one and only BAND-MAID. Welcome to the pigeon hole guaranteed not to disappoint.
Keeping rock alive. 🤘🏽👩🏻
Band-Maid rocks!!! Time to watch them live. Then you will get the full effect of their excellence.
Oh ladies, you have no idea, many people will tell you that they are the best rock band on the planet & I agree !! At 1:45, CST
today, they will be playing at Lallapolooza & on August 12th, i will see them in Spokane Wa on their 10 anniversary tour ! They put on one of the best live shows i've ever been to. 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
Going to see Band-Maid tonight at the House of Blues in Anaheim CA. I'm going to post video's on my channel. Can't wait for the show!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
That was the first of many Japanese all female bands. check out these bands. All are newer songs. Nemophila " RISE" th-cam.com/video/rD3VMAm-9iA/w-d-xo.html Hanabie "【花冷え。】 - 今年こそギャル〜初夏ver.〜 Be the GAL~Early Summer ver.~" th-cam.com/video/hTuPwVYHc_M/w-d-xo.html Lovebites " Judgement Day" th-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/w-d-xo.html PassCode "Groundswell" th-cam.com/video/zWfIRfKPm60/w-d-xo.html
I enjoyed you ladies getting into Ren and I really hope you go deep into MORE MAID ROCK. This band and their songs are incredible...live, studio, it doesnt matter. All killer songs from the sweetest and proficient rockers around. Go get it 👌💪👊🤘🤘🤘❤
Not your fault as you didn't know but BAND-MAID's Domination deserves a reaction do-over with the live version here - th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html
And after Domination, it only gets better from here:

Extremely talented musicians.
BAND-MAID live songs Freedom, Domination, Thrill, No God, Dice, Play, Choose Me, Turn Me On, Real Existence..
Girls, its time for another TOP all female Japanese Rock/Metal Band after BAND-MAID
LOVEBITES new songs Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver, live 2023 The Hammer Of Wrath...
NEMOPHILA new songs Rise, Night Flight, Revive, Seize The Fate, Dissension, Raitei...
HANABIE songs We Love Sweets, Be The GAL, Pardon Me, TOUSOU(Run Away), NEET GAME...
GACHARIC SPIN song Mind Set...
TRIDENT-JAPAN songs Voltage, No Regret, Continue...
None of those bands come remotely close to the talent, the songs compositions and diversity, and overall greatness of Band Maid. No comparison
Try the live official live version, that I am sure will win you over as it's a totally different level
Best Band on the Planet Right Now!
They'll be in Denver in 4 days. Do go, they're so awesome live.
They just released a new single music video if you wanna jump on the hype while its still here lol they already have 100k+ views on it in under 24 hours! BAND-MAID - Shambles
You're going to want to watch the live version, the video nowhere near catches their energy they put forth when performing live
Ladies. Welcome to Band-Maid. The BEST Hard Rock Band Today.
Don't let the costumes fool you these ladies are seasoned professionals ! Band Maid is the best live band i have ever seen =) Check out "Real Existence" Live or the "Blooming" MV Thanks ✌🤘
No No No the Official live Version ladies .
Try some other all female groups like,
Lovebites - Stand And Deliver
Hanabie- We Love Sweets
Nemophila- Revive
Babymetal- Divine Attack
Welcome to the fandom! Yeah gotta agree with most here. Should've done the live video!
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Bubble, Manners, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
The female version of Loudness. Absolutely great. Thanks for the introduction to them. All of them are great at their crafts and you can hear the intricate rhythms and beats on those drums for sure. Female Vinne Paul!!! LOL
Agreed, whenever possible watch the live video. I can liken Band Maid to KISS in that respect, better live.
A brand new band celebrating their tenth year together!
They just released their 10 year anniversary best double album.
Rock on! 🤘🏽👩🏻🤘🏽
His Sacred Holiness, TinyHat-san (You'll understand later) welcomes you to the Unseen World of BAND-MAID, in the quest for World Domination.
Live .. Live .. Live... nuff said....
If you like melodic hard rock ... the buck stops here!
@@keithcraig506 The first song that Miku had a hand in was "Thrill" she parentally wrote some of the lyrics.
Correction - X Japan was the first Japanese band to play Lallapalooza, 14 years ago.
cool you guys checking my fave band found you guys thru Black Pegasus Ren reactions
Best band in the world 🎎🤘🎎🤘
Need to watch them live. This one or Play and you'll be like all of us, fan for life.
The yesterday live @Lollapalooza 23 is a MUST WATCH.
Misa-Kanami literally get the stage on fire.
Enjoy!
Try DICE next
I Think you should have a look at LOVEBITES as well, another Japanese all girl band, I recommend the video of Holy War as your first, by the way they sing in English
Brand new to you. I've been a fan since 2013.
I recommend Live "Turn Me On" (Zepp Tokyo)

It’s crazy how much better the live version is.
Japan has a ton of all female rock and metal bands. More than the rest of the world combined. There is even an Anime about an all girl rock band called 'Bocchi the Rock'.
I truly hope you revisit them. Try Choose Me Live or Freedom Live. Every member is an excellent artist.
Japan has a lot of all-female bands. BAND-MAID, LOVEBITES, Babymetal, Nemophila, and Gacharic Spin are my favorites depending on which one I listened to last. All of them are vastly different from each other but they're all worth checking out.
Here are some links.

Cant wait to see you do the same song live!
It was superb at The Tokyo Garden Theatre concert.
Thanks.
Check out Hanabie next, Japan is full of all women bands.
Ya, you missed the boat with the official. Live is the ONLY way to experience this song.
The vol on the video was a bit low
It's a real shame they vowed never to perform this song live.
😈
They just performed this live in Chicago a few hours ago. It’s their opening song.
@@Bulbagaba992 I know. I'm just teasing everyone that constantly comments that new reactors should have done the LIVE version. 😉
😂 you win the clever comment award 🥇 with that one 😂
@@TehPhysics sorry, my bad!🥲
Should of done the live version. The mv mix is REALLY low.
They can play.
ALERT ALERT ALERT Band Maid at Lollapalooza on Hulu @ 1:45 TODAY FRIDAY
Live stuff. Definitely live stuff. It will not get blocked
Music video? Band Maid is "LIVE".
Moe! Moe! Kyun! Kyun!
This band, just like Nightwish and Baby Metal, should be live videos. They are all better live than in studio
+1 more for the live version of domination. Please also check out the live performance of the song hate by band maid, at lollapalooza 2023.
Try "Domination", "Freedom", or "Play" from their World Domination Tour 2020 live in Shibuya.
ok i have nothing to say ummmm yeah i like
they also did anime theme songs to
Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table.
carry on living from Quiz Tokiko-san
Sense from Platinum End
glory from Yuu Gi Ou: Vrains
and they do sing in english and japanese
Most excellent you got round to checking them out - they are actually quite varied in their music - while predominantly " rock" based it' s influenced by many other genres from blues, through funk, folk, " anime", to harder metallic sounds. They also have acoustic performances that are delicious.
Their channel, for those new to them, - www.youtube.com/@BANDMAID/featured - overall, their live shows are a significant notch up from the M/Vs, as they REALLY thrive on audience feedback 👍😎🥰
BTW, for those in the USoA, I believe there are still some dates from their tour available.
Gonna see Band Maid in 2 days
Live Band Maid is best Band Maid
Try same song live
Do the live version !
wrong version ... the LIVE is what you want ...
The mini album including 6 other remixed songs with Kyoto dialetic is another classic.
DOMINATION-LIVE and see the transformation.
The MV has great camera work and visual graphics. The only downside with this video is that the audio level is too low.
Not only does the live version sound way better, I never liked this music video.
