    Awesome you grew it from seed, Dan! My mother in law from Jamaica has a tree in her yard in Miami. The fruit is a pretty reddish pink on hers. She's had it many years. Have a blessed weekend, friend. 😊🌅🍂

    Gday Dan
    Your patience and efforts are paying off now
    It’s good to have trees connected to heritage, I’m in process of sourcing more Croatian origin figs and some apple scions from there also.

    Thats pretty cool, I have been too scared to grow akee. I dont want to make anyone sick and I'm not familiar with preparing it. Food forest is looking lush Dan.👍

    The waiting is the hardest part.

    • @Danfoodforest
      @Danfoodforest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With my seedling trees, I try not to focus on them. They are like forgotten trees in the food forest, which makes time fly by quickly.
      Thanks for watching

    • @Danfoodforest
      @Danfoodforest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are so right .. The tree didn't suffer much damage despite two years of hard freeze.
      Thanks

  • @CandysGarden
    @CandysGarden ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you just eat it raw when it's ripe, or does it need to be cooked? I've never known of this tree, so thanks for sharing this with us. Your chicken was so cute trying to check out what you were doing 😁😊😊

    • @Danfoodforest
      @Danfoodforest  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have only seen it cooked .. wouldn't eat the raw due to the toxic compounds

    Thats incredible to see Dan ! Did you spot the flower on the tree when it opened or did you only spot the fruit developing ?
