Hey, thank you my friend so much for your time, research and knowledge! Sorry I didn’t catch your name. I think your review is really good. I purchased a Multi-12 about 4 years ago mainly to use for adding additional cymbal sounds to incorporate into my Roland V-Drums. I have the older TD-25KV Roland kit. Navigating the Multi-12 with its small LED screen has been really challenging for me and like you said, not having a lot of time to research and learn makes it frustrating. I am using the iOS app for the Multi-12 but still find it puzzling sometimes. I’m really considering upgrading to the Roland hoping that it will be easier to learn than the Yamaha has been. Thanks again for your efforts, very helpful. Kind Regards, Tom Pollock on TH-cam at world’s okayest drum covers.

I would be interested in seeing more videos from you on what is possible with making a kit out of the Yamaha DTX Multi 12, like you have done with the Roland SPD SX Pro. Thanks!

Thanks for the review! I’m coming from a DD75 and I agree the triggering for the snare is terrible. Looking for simplicity in a mini kit, I’ll probably go with the M12 and the PDX100. Will the M12 allow rim shots from the PDX100? How do you do cross stick on the snare? (I’m guessing you assign a different pad), and can you recommend a high hat pedal? (Can you control different degrees of open/closed?) Thanks again!

Yes, run shots are great with the PDX100 and the rim sensor is a full 360 degrees around. You can assign anything you want to either zone of the pad. And yes, I assign the cross stick to one of the pads of the module like you said. For the M12, you’re pretty much stuck with the HH65 for a hi hat controller, as I believe that is the only switch pedal that will actually work with it. But it’s very good! You get foot splash with it, I think there is closed, middle, open, but I not much more degree than that.

No problem! I can’t stress enough that both machines are good! They are just different, but the Roland is much easier to navigate.

@@sabadrumI was just in the Yamaha manual wow yeah its deep. On page 103 I saw there is a couple of ways to control crosstalk through settings. Did you try any of those with the pads you were having problems with ?

@@marylewis3311 no I didn’t. I could never figure out how to adjust it with Yamaha. I just sorta gave up on it lol the alesis strike multipad makes it very easy to adjust crosstalk with the threshold setting.

    Hey dude !!!
    Thanks for the video !
If it's not a nightmare to find again.
Can you please Copy and paste the video that showed you how to assign the open and closed hi-hat.
It's at about 5:27 in the video when you say this.
And anything else that may be a good tutorial.
I've had my Multi 12, for a few years, but I abandoned it because the settings are crazy....lol
I haven't hooked it up to an iPad yet, so... I really should.
    Have you tried this ?
    If so...
Is it better....a real real real real real lot better ?
    Hehehehe
I love it, but I have specific things I want it to do, and I get too distracted too easily and never get it to do what I want.
Again, thanks for the video !!!!
    Have a great day !!!!!
    :-)

This video helped me and definitely worked! The only thing you have to do additionally is you need put the closed hat and open hat pads onto the same Alt Group.
