Well I guess I need Maeve because I relate so deeply to everything Megan just said. It might sound dumb and vapid and I really don’t know why I’m writing these words into the YT void at 1:30AM but it’s a really difficult journey to go from relying on your looks so heavily all your life and then getting smacked in the face with the reality that you’re so much more than that and need to work on your insides and grow internally to become the person you’re supposed to be. I tried to fight it and run and hide from it. I just wanted to keep doing what was easy and comfortable but life put up road blocks at every turn and forced me to “do the work” - I now know what people mean when they say that phrase. But while that process is so rewarding, it’s also scary because when you haven’t been making your looks front and center of everything you do and everything you are for an extended period of time, you do lose confidence and end up just wanting to hide from the world.
