We've gotten conflicting opinions about what level of Air O carpet to use on steps. One dealer says to use level I because Level II would be too thick, and may cause a tripping hazard. Another dealer said to only use Level II because level I does not have a thick enough nap, and the padding will show through at the nose of each step. Is there a correct answer?

This is the best airo demonstration I have seen yet although I will have to say I do not like the product I was the first installers to install some in Tucson Arizona and I was not satisfied with the product at all, I would say it is more of a DIY person installation type carpet

Looks very much like a gimmick. Maybe its geared towards diy. Or has it gotten so bad that some of these fly by night carpet crews won't power stretch and only want to kick it in that you have decided to reinvent the wheel? I don't see it catching on .

Easy to recycle top to bottom if it’s 100% polyester.

It is made from Recycled Plastic bottles, as well as naturally stain resistant. Spill your grape soda onto your nylon carpet, then compare the empty bottle to the carpet. One of the two will have not grape stain after cleaning, and it isn't going to be your nylon carpet.

@@eriefloors sure, yeah, you betcha, it wears real fast, matt's down (bends permanently) because it's plastic, get's pooling, attracts and will not give up oil or grease, off gases for 7 years that causes many to get sick after an install & causes things like lymphomas.
The 2 great characteristics - holds a great electrostatic charge attracting airborne pollutants. The best is for those that sell it - unlike a good nylon that lasts 20-25 years, a polyester gets so damn ugly that it's toast in 5 years or less. Nothing like a polyester on stairs to show worn ugly stair noses.

@@janetobrian8625 Yes. spot on with its weaknesses. Not defending it. Just showing its place in the tool box. When the world is looking increasingly at Green products and renewable resourced fibers, product longevity and durability can take a back seat to a Nylon that is fresh from the mill, (with all that implies to air and landfills.) To old-schoolers like you and me that may be a hard pill to swallow. However, to a LEED Specifier or a consumer that puts their "green" money where their mouth is, Air.o can be used with more attentive maintenance and planned obsolescence into the holistic product design. That's the reason Mohawk uses Poly. Imagine that huge hunk of virgin fresh nylon going into the land fills every time this carpet is torn out. Food for Thought. :)

Not to throw a wrench into the recycling thing and those that believe the carpet is being recycled but...... yes, the product comes from other recycled plastics. I don't believe very much if any poly carpets are actually recycled. I get my repair remnants from various installer & carpet outlet dumpsters where old carpet and new scrap is thrown away. When it makes it's way to the landfill or disposal facility, I doubt there is someone that goes around testing the carpet fibers. The selling line sounds good that they make but in reality I don't think it holds up.
The Air.O thing has got me for repairs, not in love with the difficulty especially pet urine repair. Cat pee along baseboards, you better have extra carpet left over.
