South Africa has one of the biggest Portuguese populations outside of Portugal hence the Portuguese name, but it is really based off South African grilled spicy chicken. The chain became popular London then the UK as a slightly higher end takeaway joint than a McDonalds or KFC you take girl if you like her. London culture made it cool and globally known and became the favourite takeout restaurant for Beyoncé and Kanye when they are in the UK, so there is a lot of cross pollination and influences in the Nando’s brand.

Even countries with subpar facilities like a brazil, or Argentina they emphasised football and produced many gems at a higher rate in their own country. I'm not sure now but ik it used to be pay to get in instead of democracy for some countries. Many of the African talents in Africa never got developed cause of corruption before which obviously hurts the prestige of representing the national team. Maybe its changing tho.
