    Thank you Mike. Those details about deck size, trucks width and offset wheels are really useful. There is not enough information on the internet about this. Plus the limited choice of freestyle deck and trucks combination, it makes new comers like myself have a difficult time in setting up a freestyle board.

Its was really late that I have the chance to porsuit a different kinda deck here on Brazil, they are the industrie choice of weapon on the market.

    I did a number of freestyle tricks on my 8.5, high concavity street board for a while. I got Indy's and paired them with some deep conicals (Santa Cruz Slimeballs) and a couple extra speedrings, and my board sat rock solid on the rails. The wheels and axles were basically lined up. I sacrificed nose slides and gripped the nose. The thing was a lotta fun and definitely freestyle capable. Recently moved to an old school shape, so we'll see what I can do there :)

  • @markusb.8163
    @markusb.8163 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Nice one, as always ;-) One addition: If you really get into learning Caspers and have the board upside down for hours, the very end of nose and tail will slowly erode. As you can't really put skidplates on top of the board, a row of small woodscrews right at the edge where the Casper lands will prevent razor tail developing from the top side.

      Next up is a question to you: are you gonna sell Waltz Boards / Decks and so on in Germany at some point?
      'cause our market is vanishingly small so i'll probably have to build one myself soon (i don't like pretty much all of the available Boards / Decks here, i'm that kind of person..), freestyle is very very appealing to me and you take lots of the credit for it - so far i've only been skating street
      btw i'm building / upcycling boards myself, not for profit but for the joy it gives me and people honestly love them: ] so it's not halfhearted or of amateurish quality, i absolutely aim for perfection tbh and work with very few powertools only. Meaning that building my own freestyle board is not only just a pure fantasy of mine, you see, it's passion and reality: )

    Skidplates should be way more popular with the average amateur skater than they are. The board lasts way longer and the only tricks it impacts significantly are nose and tail slides. A 7.75 street board with skidplates to me is like the ideal all purpose skateboard.

On Mode site they have Indy 109 (6.9" axle) on 7.4" deck (0.5" difference) and one Waltz site there's Bullet 120 (7.2" axle) on 7.5" deck (0.35" difference). Hi Ian, we make the wheels that we want to skate. Smaller, harder, offset wheels allow us to skate to our best ability and perform tricks like rail stands, coconut wheelies, etc. We’re happy to hear that you found a wheel that works well for you but please do keep in mind that a ton of thought and planning went into developing the Coffee Break wheel. We cannot personally cater to the needs of every individual skater but I believe that we are producing the best product for the widest range of freestyle skill levels and trick needs. Thanks for the comments!
