I've never seen Paint The Night, but the Main Street Electrical Parade is so nostalgic that it makes me very emotional. I'm sure it's not easy to house equipment and costumes and to train cast, but I really wish they could just constantly rotate between these all.

The 'canopy' that they built at Haunted Mansion is not the bright green object but rather the wooden trellis covered in flowering vines that covers the area between the animal graveyard back wall and the elevator 'mausoleum', in the bottom left of the artwork that you showed! It goes over the queue walk that heads straight to the side of the mansion were one goes up onto the porch, er, veranda!
I think you mean the bottom right of the artwork, but you’re definitely right. That structure is clearly the garden trellis in the concept art. It’s going to look great, even if it’s only half as nice as the art depicts it.

Paint The Night is the absolute best! So glad I didn't cancel my pass! I heard people are thinking it might go to CA adventure since Disney is so packed all the time, & I agree! It's a much better place for crowds!
We were there Oct 12 and Tiana ride was moving nicely! My quick report! Disneyland was PACKED! With wait times over an hour long. Rides breaking down left and right. Space mountain broke down at night and it remained closed. This was my 1st visit where I used my Magic Band and mobile order like crazy! We did have an awesome moment for Fantasmic. Special shout out to CM Oliver! Thank you. You made our little girl night! Overall the day was great. I just reserved my dates for November and December.
I was also there on the 12th, it was absolutely insane. Incredicoaster was down for most of the day, and came up around 6 PM. Then it went down again around 7 PM. I had literally just sat down in the train when they kicked us all off.
At 22:30 if you zoom in on the ADA elevator building, you can see the stone blocks painted in grey on the same side the worker was on earlier in the vlog. I'm going to guess that the pink was a coating that hardens so it can be painted and to look and feel like stone. At first I was thinking it was foam which they would apply stucco onto. Looking forward to seeing your first ride on Tianas
I liked your observations about how the crowd behaves at the entry turnstiles. In my family we always called that behavior “Disneyland line syndrome”. I see the same thing happen at Costco - people tend to get in line at the first line they come to rather than looking a bit further for a shorter line.
I’m so disappointed about Pixie Hallow. I absolutely loved the light and water show. I can understand their decision though. I broke down frequently and pretty much nobody knew it was there.
That space next to the Cozy Cones had some tables and benches, plus some landscape. The forms look to be for foundations for posts, so they are likely expanding that seating area and adding some much needed shade via canopies. I think you even mentioned the permits on one of your videos in the past few weeks.

You can see the canopy that is being installed in the concept art. It is in the lower right portion. The elevator is right next to it. It has the wrought iron ornaments on some pillars.

Today, (10/14), is the last day paper tickets will be issued… Guest that print their tickets online and get that small 2x4 little ticket at the gate are going to be a thing of the past tomorrow. Also, guest that have complimentary tickets from a cast member will no longer get that paper ticket too. everything will be through the app.

I recently read a book on the history of Disneyland and this is all I'm thinking. Building codes, safety, and likely budget and politics have slowed everything down. Really eager to see the park get everything finished for the 70th and to take a break on construction projects for a bit.

That’s true. Disneyland never brings back former parades. Except Main Street Electrical Parade (in 1977, 1985, 2017, 2019 and 2022), Paint the Night (at DCA in 2018 after its initial run at Disneyland in 2015), Magic Happens (returned in 2023 after it’s initial run in 2020)
The canopy you're seeing is indeed the one in the lower right hand corner with the wisteria. That's not the green ornamental structure in the concept art.
This would have blown the roof off of the place at D23 this past summer, it would have been a great moment. Either way, best parade ever and so excited!!
We had the opportunity to use the new turnstiles during a trial run they did. The screen facing us was for our photo to be taken. We lined our face into the circle on the screen while the cast member on the other screen verified it and saved it. It wasn’t terrible, but it was slightly challenging as we have an adult daughter in a wheelchair and they had to adjust things for her face to line up into their circle.
Those new scanners with the frame facing the guest is probably going to take a picture of the guest like the cast members do when you enter on a multiday pass.
Those trees near the entry gates should have decorative tree guards. Same thing for the trees along Main St too. But after seeing what Disney recently did to Epcot, etc, don't assume that or the small screen section of Space Mountain's sign will ever deserve the benefit of the doubt.
They'll presumably get those eventually. May be a shipping/manufacturing issue, or they may simple be waiting for the trees to mature a bit more first.

For some reason, when it comes to the trees on Main St in WDW, they're more elaborately themed. So I am guessing the monitors facing you have 2 functions, 1 to take your pic if they don't have it, and 2 to show you which guest should be entering. We usually have 1 of us swipe for the family, so I can see which kid should enter and which adult.
I would absolutely love an ADA access for Main Street! I’ve never seen the inside of the Main Street station in the 33 years I’ve lived and I hope to one day see it. 🤞🏽
You can get off the train at main, then wait and get back on, without exiting the station. Then ride back to a depot that has ADA access. So you can see if. But wish they would/could put an ada entrance on main.

I noticed that at the new entry gate, there is no place to scan tickets; only the white circle to tap Magic Bands. Could this mean that Disneyland might use the card system that WDW uses?
David, I suspect the construction walls were temp up at Earl of Sandwich because they had a bird issue in the center of the dining area on one specific tree. A large number of birds perched on the center tree and regularly pooped on guests and their food. I saw employees warning those sitting at two center tables to move. Another time I saw other guests warning people at those tables to move. I saw two people get hit by droppings.
Those new gate monitors facing the guest look like possible facial recognition screens. Looks similar to what I recently ran into in France. They had something VERY similar at the airport and I seem to recall maybe seeing something like that at Disney Paris.
Paint the Night will be at Disneyland since they will most likely be removing the tracks for the Red Car Trolley , which is 1/2 the parade route in DCA.
Regardless of when Paint the Night comes back, it wasn't a coincidence that it was announced right after the price hikes to refocus people's attention and get them excited about going back despite the new prices.
I am glad paint the night is coming back for Disneyland 70th Anniversary next year and Disneyland railroad reopens next week I believe one of cast members told me on Messager

Lego has a new brand look incoming, so they’ll be doing a big internal and external rebrand of the Lego store. Lots of comic booky visuals, bright kid-centric colours, some animated screens with that cool Lego Movie almost stop motion looking cgi animation. And for us brand nerds a new unique trademarked font.

We are going on Nov 12, 2024 and with construction, the snail pace of the construction, + the increase cost (including outside of the park) I feel after this visit we will be looking for a different vacation destination. We have gone to Disneyland 6 years in a row and to Disney World last year. The experience doesn't = the cost. Sad

It only took 1 year to build the entire park. Now it takes over 1 year to fix a bathroom in Adventureland.
Times have changed, to be sure. And laws, and regulations and building codes.

We are going on Nov 12, 2024 and with construction, the snail pace of the construction, + the increase cost (including outside of the park) I feel after this visit we will be looking for a different vacation destination. We have gone to Disneyland 6 years in a row and to Disney World last year. The experience doesn't = the cost. Sad
