This is genuinely insane. I'm a fan of a couple of other channels called Dead Meat and Dimension 20, and the fact that you're reaching their level of production all on your own speaks to immense effort and passion for what you do. Not dusting those other channels at all, but they have production teams, and you have friends and family. This is really well-done; I'm extremely jealous of your setup and your work ethic. Lend me one (or both)!
@@Khaoscntrl Dead Meat is a horror TH-camr who has excellent editing, elaborate skits within his videos and production design that has steadily gotten better over the past 5 years. I wasn't a big fan of horror before I interacted with his channel, but it has grown my love for the genre immensely. I recommend checking him out.
That’s stunning! Glad to hear the moving stuff is taken care of. Also I can’t believe you guys painted that space wall yourselves! Kudos to Spencer for doing the stars
When we moved into our house, it included a detached garage. We've revamped it into its own nerd space for D&D games, Warhammer, and Magic stuff. It's awesome and I love it. Having a space that you can have for nerding and hobbling is so useful, especially with small babies. Can't wait to see the rest of the games! Great work y'all!
using those floor paneling on the wall is a really good choice for some texture on the walls. It looks great, and the tone lowers the brightness of the room just enough to make it feel warm. you guys did good on this one. (also that table is amazing)
Watching Craig look over all the wood he put up (and probably thinking of the closest exit) is probably thinking about how he could absolutely destroy all of it in 0.5 seconds
I've been rewatching Critical Role Campaign 2, and there's a moment when Caduceus is describing something that just looks wrong and his example is when someone paints stars that are the wrong kind of random... Spencer nat 20'd those stars! It looks absolutely amazing! The whole space does, congratulations and well done! 🙂
It's lovely, and I can't add anything to what others have said. BUT, I recommend some sort of decorations on the blank/empty spaces of wood paneling, to work as sound diffusers/absorbers. The echoing will be noticable between players. Other than that, the room is a TTRPG-nerds wet dream :)
I was wondering about some acoustic panels, seemed to me wood flooring on the walls would make an echoey mess, but maybe they've already compensated for it. Sound quality didn't seem too bad here, but I am just watching on my phone.
Looks really nice, love the wood walls. I do have to say it might be interesting to see if sound dampening panels could reduce a bit of the sound reverberation in the room.
I am myself going through a rough patch related to the stress of moving with my SO. My saturday morning was gojng kind of crap, but watching this video and reading your tweets relieved some of the anxiety. Thanks a bunch for that, and congrats on the new chapter of your life. Cheers from Brazil :)
As someone with the jankiest stream ever tossed together- I'm so envious of this setup.... 🤣 My group rocks a single mic, no cameras, a bunch of chairs around a tiny coffee table, and whatever art and music we can cobble together.
I missed in person sessions for the first year of playing, but to be honest I've gotten pretty used to it. The ability to make custom maps whatever I want that aren't just crudely drawn maps on dry erase boards is pretty nice. Also being able to make custom tokens is great as well. And it makes recording my players a lot easier. I've been spoiled by online I don't know if I'll be able to go back.
On a side note I want to say that I really love Grim Hallow. With so many settings the is either such a dense amount of information that it becomes overwhelming, or its so thin that you might as well homebrew a setting from scratch. I feel like Grim Hallow really hits that goldilocks zone where it gives you just the right amount detail to make the world your own.
Has a baby, lushes locks, and a new home. How does one learn this power Jacob can we possibly get a vid on where you get inspiration. Like where you get prompts where you begin campaigns.
I just had my kitchen gutted and redone completely. In a couple months I’m redoing my daughters bedroom door and my bedroom door the same way you did your doors with the dnd tarot cards. Thank you I hope you’re not mad I’m stealing your amazing idea. I love you ❤️
Love the setup!! I bought that same wierd octopus skeleton a few years ago for my oldest son. I took it apart and painted the inside of it with several layers of black paint, so that the inside light wouldn't shine through the body. It looks really cool at night when turned on.
I just found this channel after finding the old 'new setup' video. My heart is so warm and I feel nothing but happiness for them for the new setup and the new house. They deserve this and more :') Lovely video and I am your new subscriber!
That's one of the engagement challenges, leave the wiring unmanaged, no acoustic panels on tge walls, and display an invertibrate's skeleton, so several subgenres of nerd have something to comment on. Oh, and unironed curtains
This is so amazing! Everything looks so magical. Probably because it was made possible with friends and family. Congratulations on the new house and everything you have achieved in your life thus far!
What a great channel - your authenticity, enthusiasm, ... your FUN - it's contagious. Thank you for sharing, it's nothing short of inspiring. BRB, while I go set up my new DND room. On a super real note, my wife and I are going through a very similar tumultuous time as we prepare to move into our new home. Closing, walk throughs, possession dates - if it could go wrong, it's gone wrong! So I found a good bit of hope in your video tonight and greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
God that setup is amazing, I can't imagine would it would be like to have a space like that in your house (in fact multiple spaces because of the second room for stream management) Tbh if I had a room like that in my house I would probably never leave, people only see me if they come over to play d&d
As a Dnd lover who only really gets to play vicariously through the community because my friends are RUBBISH! Watching the evolution of your platform has been a joy. Mad love to the Xp and Arcane family. This set up is amazing. Peas
I don't know if you've heard of this site, but if you ever decide to go with an arcane-style backdrop, or have a section for bookshelves to give it a touch of arcane, Easton Press makes leather-bound books with gold paper edges. I LOVE the designs on some of their books, like Astrology, Alchemy, and the Mysticism books. They also have some nerd stuff, like the Unofficial Harry Potter Hogwarts Handbook (which may or may not still be in stock atm), the Avengers comics, and so on. The design looks like something you'd probably see in fantasy libraries. Though be warned, if anyone decides to get some books, they are rather expensive. They do allow you to choose monthly payments, but its worth it.
That table is sick. Also, love the tarot door. Neat! Man, my setup only consists of vacuuming the living room floor, because that's where the DM likes to sit for some reason. No one's complaining, but I still feel like I need to step up my game.
I don't/never have played D&D but I came across your channel like 3 or so days ago and it actually got me interested and I have to say your new Diggs is looking awesome. GJ guys
