Boundary fill & Flood fill Algorithms

Polygon filling algorithms
These are of two types
Boundary fill algorithm is used to color the interior of a closed region with a color given a boundary color, interior point and a fill color.
Flood fill algorithm is used to replace the original color of a closed region with a new color given an old color, interior point and a new color.

First of all, thank you for the video. I saw a filling algorithm a very long time ago. It was on a Sinclair ZX81 or Sinclair Spectrum. The algorithm had a completely different approach. The area was filled in circles from the inside to the outside. Further layers of pixels were placed around the edge of the central pixel, similar to a roll of paper. Only when you reached a limit did you start a new recursion, as far as possible. You didn't need to remember all the free pixels, just the first free pixel, because the recursion filled all the pixels anyway. I don't have a name for it, unfortunately. It gave the impression of a snake game, where the snake always has to keep the way back open. Maybe such an algorithm is known, I would be glad about an answer.
