Sigurboði - Kvæðamaðr (Full Album 2020) Skaldic Poetry & Norse Mythology

- A Skáld was a person who would travel across the land playing music and singing old poetry or ''Kvæði'' from the old Nordic myths and folklore about the Norse gods. They weren't only entertainers but essentially teachers and storytellers. Kvæðamaðr aims to give you the feeling that a Skáld has visited your home and is singing his songs to you with only his Lyre, Taglharpa and Drum to aid him.

can anyone who speaks the language in the songs whether it be old norse or icelandic, not sure, confirm that what they are singing actually makes sense and that its not a random mesh of words? have come across similar projects where under more careful examination the lyrics turned out to be complete bs tho author claimed they are from edas

Indeed, it's the same genre. It's hard to tell the difference between a cover and distinct music in this genre. It's also not a band, since it's only Sigurboði ;)
