I think it always has to go through the metamorphic phase as it heats up, on it's way to melting. edit: I was going to compare this to solids going through a liquid phase as they heat up before becoming a gas, but sublimation is a thing, so maybe it is possible.
Look up video '#27 - Igneous, Metamorphic & Sedimentary Rock Types and The Rock Cycle'. The short answer is all rock types can turn into all the others.
It should first become a solid rock and can't jump to heat and pressure because that occurs when rocks are found deep into the earth's crust...sediment should under go when it farmed layers and harden over time to farm metamorphic rock❤
@@shokker2445 Well yes, but the first answer would be left as x=3/4. Not sure if this just helps them, but the internet is indeed a source of free information like this.
Could ancient humans have created concrete like substances that after thousands of years would metamorphosize into the stones for example used in the pyramids. Could a massive cataclysmic event trigger a geological anomaly? For instance could a comet impact accelerate the metamorphosis of certain types of rocks?
You're a rock cycle. Er... pardon me. Yeah, very interesting video. I sometimes wonder how deep into the mantle stuff from the surface gets pushed. I'd like to see a video that goes into more detail about the interior of the Earth.
Are you kidding me 😂 I was just here trying to see what this fella is all about from another video asking me about what to ask you on dr Keating show and my question when I seen the rock video was. Could one find a rock that could explain my thesis of evolution of discoveries through natural survival process fighting climate change and here is the rock 😂 2:43 awesome brother bloody awesome
Please make videos on high level topics like Statistical Mechanics, Solid State Physics and advanced topics of Quantum Mechanics like Quantum Angular momentum & spin, Quantization of Angular momentum, Hydrogen atom.
And now we see the Venn Diagram of the Rock Cycle and the Hydrologic Cycle beginning to form. Without the latter, there would be no "weathering." Lithology and meteorology living in harmony.
I’ve been watching your videos for years but this year our teacher played this in class and I’m unbelievably happy
I’m in Saudi Arabia and our teachers in international schools tell us to watch these after school if we didn’t understand the lesson

If a sedimentary rock melts, would it always go through metamorphic phase first? or it can just go straight to magma?
I think it always has to go through the metamorphic phase as it heats up, on it's way to melting.
edit: I was going to compare this to solids going through a liquid phase as they heat up before becoming a gas, but sublimation is a thing, so maybe it is possible.
If it melt in turns into magma and when magma cools down and is exposed to erosion and weathering they immediately change ti igneous rock
Can sedimentary rocks directly melted to magma? Or it will always become metamorphic rock firdt then melted?
I have a dumb question. What happens to Sediment that undergoes heat and pressure? Does it just become Sedimentary Rock?
Look up video '#27 - Igneous, Metamorphic & Sedimentary Rock Types and The Rock Cycle'.
The short answer is all rock types can turn into all the others.

Prof Dave I am really confused how to solve 4x²+x-3=0 can you please help me?
Look up the quadratic formula. a=4, b=1, c=-3
I'm not Prof Dave, but there are two ways to solve this, quadratic formula or factoring by grouping. Are either of these methods familiar to you?
So x = 0.75 or x = -1
@@shokker2445 Well yes, but the first answer would be left as x=3/4. Not sure if this just helps them, but the internet is indeed a source of free information like this.
