Annukka, Your tree is lovely. The colors and composition are striking… and like you I love the dendrites!

The tree is amazing! That was a cool way to deal with the cracking and crazing.

I enjoy you so much. Trees are what I love to do when I paint. I don't worry about cracks I filled them in with complimentary colors or gold. After all that Japanese find beauty in things that are broken and lined with gold!

It turned out beautiful 🥰 Maybe the alcohol caused cracking, maybe next time try a little varnish to dissolve the pigments🙂

    • @AnnukkaArtStudio
      @AnnukkaArtStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks, Saskia! I doubt it’s the alcohol, it had plenty of time to dissolve and other artists have had no issues with this method. I plan on running some tests to determine the cause 💜

Your Color scheme is gorgeous… so the pigments were mixed in alcohol and Owatrol? I think the alcohol may have caused the splintering / cracking
alcohol creates great effect splashed or sprayed ( Gerda Lipski uses it for effects ) but actually mixing in as part of paint base it will react to all the other paints that are acrylic and make them crack ❤❤❤ your final results 😊

Thank you, Leslie! I only dissolved the pigments in alcohol, and it had plenty of time to evaporate… But I won’t know for sure until I’ve run some tests 💕

@@AnnukkaArtStudio mica powder does not dissolve
I’ve bend working with that material 27 years. It simply needs to be mixed well in a binder
Liquitex/ Golden / colourarte all offer acrylic mediums ( not pouring mediums ) that the mica can be mix into first
      A dash of pouring medium
A dash of Owatrol you’d be good to go
If your not sure who I am I’m the product developer of the colourarte brands
      I created the PrizmPour
      That macaw color is beautiful
Mix it that way you. Will be ticketed with the results
There are some TLP the neons that are not mica based
that don’t break down that easy and I’m familiar with Mina’s work she’s had good luck with those
Quite frankly if the neons were ground down more mortal and pestle/ or plates like golden uses it would disperse easier
But the mix into alcohol with the neons and using mica in the same way is not interchangeable
A good acrylic medium and the TLP will hold up
And give you stunning results with no risk of a reaction
      Have a great evening 💕

@@Leslieohnstad_colourarte_mama thanks for the explanation! I should add that I was meant to say disperse, not dissolve 😄 Very early morning + English not being my first language is not always a good combo lol

I’m So glad I’ve found your work on TH-cam! I wondered why you put a base coat on snd then use the titanium buff with which to swipe before using your bright swipe colours? Thanks 😃

Absolutely beautiful, have you tried using the GAC800 in your paints? It is supposed to prevent the cracking in thicker paints.

Thanks, Christine! I haven’t tried it yet, I can’t seem to find it here in Finland. I did another one after this, with paints that I know and use all the time. It’s my best one yet and I had zero issues with drying this time. If you fancy seeing it, it’s premiering on Sunday ❤️
