OMG...I'm a pro-procrastination, too! I always used tape because I couldn't be bothered with securing the edges with a blanket stitch, but after watching this, I'm going to start doing this...getting my project off on a good note! Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching Nat 😊 oh that's definitely the best way to go about it!! 😍 I still haven't learned the art of sewing on a machine but it's definitely on my to-do this year. It makes everything soo much easier, doesn't it?!
I like a zig zag for the edges, too. I've noticed that the fabric isn't always cut straight, so I use a water soluble pen to draw a line starting a few stitches to guide my machine stitching.
If you have ordered a PDF pattern, simply open the pattern from the email attachment and zoom in and out as you please. If you wish you can edit the image to mark off the stitches you have already done. There are various apps to help you do this :)
Thank you so much for watching! The supplies included with the SAL depend on what option you decide to purchase (e.g. PDF pattern only, or full kit, with/out needleminder, pouch etc) - please see the listing on our website here: www.caterpillarcrossstitch.com/products/british-isles-adventure-stitch-along Hope this helps and we hope you love stitching the British Isles with us ☺️ Happy stitching 🌸 Marie
Hi Denise, I have used a square Nurge hoop size 3 in the video. If you'd prefer round wooden hoop, I think 22cm (8.66'') hoop would work really well. Neither of these will cover the whole design - you would still need to move your hoop around once you've run out of space - that's totally normal though, don't worry about your stitches under the hoop 😊 any questions, don't hesitate to let me know! Happy stitching 🌸 Marie
Hi Leeanne, thank you so much for watching! 😊 I'm not sure I fully understand your question - I personally finish a whole object and then move onto another. Some people prefer to stitch colour by colour, so they would finish stitches of one colour on the whole project and then move onto another (it's called extreme cross country stitching) - I find it's easy to make a counting mistake though so I just finish one whole object (like the letters) and then move on. Hope this helped 😊 Happy stitching 🌸 Marie
@@CaterpillarCrossStitch it was 🤗 thank you so much! Yes I made the mistake of doing all one colour then found out I was 1 stitch out🥴so I’m sticking to 1 whole object too, and it’s nice to have a change in colours too :) I’m in Australia, I’ve just ordered 2 magnets… such a good idea.

I always use a light blue or light grey sewing thread for the blanket stitch. I find darker threads will leave a dye residue.

So glad you found it useful ☺️ it’s a lot of effort in the beginning but it does pay off in the end 😊
