      I think the problem is that you know how to get them under control in the beginning. And then it's easier to control the dog afterwards. I have always had dogs who I could teach and control. But the one I adopted a year ago is teachable but looses it when we are outside and is afraid of everything. He lunges. I can't get him under control to let the leash loose.

      Awesome video! You remind me here of something that I tell my family is not to challenge my dog over hie ball or whatever it is. Buttibg head's with the Mioose will get you no where. He doesn't understand why youre mad and yelling at him to drop it. Putting pressure on his collar at all times probably does create anxiety I guess I never really thought about it I do understand why trying to pull them back isn't the answer sometimes that's all you can do though is to hang on and at least with mine and he weighs nearly 200 lb, lol. You have to just saddle up and hang on!! Lol

      August, hope I got your name right..I have a question for you. I don't always hear you but sometimes, especially if they are extremely aggressive you do this ssssssss sound, sometimes shhhh but mainly that hissing sound. Is that something you learned on your own from your experiences or did someone shoe you? Whatever those sounds you make are they def mean something to the dog. The dog listens to you sometimes immediately or a few seconds later. You have an even higher and louder sssss sound if they are very intense. I also can see how you don't get bit, your arms are just a little bit longer than most other people and your tall and very skinny so that also seems to help u. That's pretty cool, but those sounds you make are special and I'd understand if you can't tell me much or anything at all really. As always I'm enjoying your videos and learning much from you.

      Around age 8 or so, I got attacked by a golden retriever. At age 17, on Sunday May 10, 1998, Mother's Day I got attacked by a Rottweiler and it killed my dog. Around age 18 or 19 on 2 paper routes, a Beagle broke its leash and attacked me. But I still love dogs and am comfortable petting and handling them. It took me a long time to get over my PTSD of another dog being around my new dog at that time. Years later I rarely have PTSD of my dog being around other dogs, as well as no longer fearing Rottweilers.
      Golden Retriever happened on May Day when I took a May basket to my friend's house at that time.

      @@apriljames1782 Tell them you don't want to talk about it, it's in the past. You don't have to tell people at all. Not an obligation or required of you to share any personal info about yourself. Or just make it very simple for yourself by only saying one word, "Dogs". And leave it at that. If they don't instantly get it when you only say "dogs", then they just have to stay clueless all on their own. Not your problem because it's actually none of their business until you allow it to be by telling them everything.

    The DD team was friendly, professional & supportive. It was terrific to be surrounded by people who want to see you and your dog succeed.
    Lastly, Augusto could’ve cancelled on us due to the passing of his grandmother and I would’ve understood. He was present and committed the entire time. A true professional, a skilled trainer and helped me really understand Rozzy and his needs!

    He trains dogs like we train horses. The human must always be the Alpha (edited autocorrect of Aloha 😂), but it is NEVER about manhandling. You MUST release and reward positive the moment the horse/dog responds as you want. Clear, calm, quick directives. Frequent rewards reinforcing all the reasons Doggo will WANT to behave and be a good baby. I so love watching this stuff.

    Most aggressive dogs are put down ,its obvious they are absolutely terrified. They don't know what to do, there person looks just as afraid. It's a nightmare but then .... Watching the dog feel safe, and protected from itself and the outside forces( a dog in progress) its just so sweet I literally cry🥲 . And this time we got to see the person and the dog gain confidence and feel safe. You Doggy Dad are an angel saving lives... A very fly super cute angel.

      Doggy Dad may not be saving lives, once a fearful dog, always a fearful dog in new situations. A lot of intensive work with no long term trust. First rule of thumb, don't ever own a fearful dog. A dog owner spent 3k and a year training her dog, it took just moments to maul my arm and cause some permanent damage. Unprovoked, just a new location. I was glad a kid was not around.

I hope you can forgive me for being insensitive, I didn't know your story. And I think we can agree that there are certainly animals that can't be rehabilitated. I was thinking of all the dogs that save lives ..from therapy dogs, to search and rescue dogs, even police and army dogs that will lay down there life for a person..my post was about the video and enjoying seeing someone who wants to try and help dogs in need. Dog Dad seems responsible in that he trains the person not just the dog...But seriously Noone should have been through what happened to you and for what it's worth. I am so very sorry. @@cherylfox2149 Thank you. Sure, no problem. I agree that dogs are wonderful animals and love them myself. I am concerned when someone like Dog Daddy puts short clips of aggressive dogs being pacified temporarily giving the impression that these fearful animals are curable or manageable. When really those types of dogs are never to be trusted and left unsupervised. Really they are not for the average dog owner, only for very experienced and dedicated responsible owners or trainers. Also most viewers do not realize that there is a metal pronged collar on most of the dogs when he is working on them.

    • @barbaramcmillan3835
      @barbaramcmillan3835 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rootstorising7348 The prong collar isn't sharp or dangerous, just uncomfortable, and as he explained, it's just a very short tug to correct wrong behaviour, and release as the dog responds straight away, and he always emphasises that the training must continually be reinforced ongoing, although the prong collar is not a permanent feature once the lessons are learned.
      He has many other longer videos explaining this too; he also works with uncontrollable shelter dogs that would otherwise be euthanised. Althoughthere may be some that can't be helped, I've never known him give up on any dog. And although there are critics, they are not among the people he has helped with their dogs.

    Amazing instructions to the owner. Most owners quit too soon or get distracted using their phone etc before their dog really has the repetitions in and really has the behavior locked in. It takes lots of consistency and dedication to reliability every time before you can relax the muzzle or prong or your attention. 🎉

    A nervous dog is like a dull knife if you don’t know what you are doing. Most people try and get people to feed their dog treats or force to be petted. I have a 7 month old Gsd that is in her fear period and once somebody engages with me she gets her very nervous bark. It’s tough when people in public don’t understand that. I’ve pretty much have had to yell at people every time to not even attempt to pet or get close, they try and sweet talk and think it’s going to help her loosen up.
