This video should be titled “Scott wrestles with the inherent evils of Capitalism.” There is an inherent uncaring in a capitalist society. I don’t see a better solution except to try to change norms in our society to recognize the strengths of capitalism while dramatically limiting the drawbacks. How we do that? No idea.

Doing my best is not depressing. I am proud to be on the good sense side. I am vegan and will always be no matter what people think. I do not struggle with my thougts anymore. Namasté... compassion is a good way to take. 🙏👽🇧🇷🐷🦃🐠🐣🐔🐙🐄🐑🐮

As a health professional in the skin care business I have a hard time with the medical and the grifting in skin care. The only solution is education. That’s why we follow you. That’s why we love listening to you. I love how you bring light on all these gurus that are just humans. I do not trust big Pharma at all.

Big ups to the d&d books on your shelf. Also, so right on the insurance grift. It’s so ridiculous. My wife and I run her small business and we pay 800 a month with a 10k deductible and no mental health coverage. It’s a crock of shit

15:55 oh snap, is Scotty gonna start his own Late Night with Seth Myers corrections segment? If so, we need a name for his “jackals”. Should we call them “hooberdudes” or “Wim-bel-dorks”?

There is no "answer writ large." As you mention, one's level of health is dependent on various factors. Many strategies and treatments may be effective. Many may fail. Most times, docs don't really know why some work and some fail. It's all trial and error.
What we do know harms human health is for-profit medicine. Actual healthcare practitioners should be compensated for their work; it should not lead to giant profits for execs who do not provide healthcare. Wealth should not be a pre-requisite to health. Private insurance is a rip-off and hurts everyone and should END NOW.
Just imagine the productivity of an American populace that wasn't using so much of its mental energy and physical resources to try to live without sufficient healthcare and access the minimal health care available to them!

Insurance is a bet - you can either crowd fund 0r self fund the cost of your care. After decades of good health, if you stop and sum up the money you spent on premiums over the years it sure seems like a rip off. But one accident will redefine the potential financial impact of going at it alone. Good luck.

Yes. This is all exactly right. I just switched to a crowd sourced model of health care. Pray for me.

@ 👍 and to clarify, there are at least two sources of crowd funding….. the insurance companies collecting premiums from their clients who then negotiate fees with your healthcare providers and pay claims when those claims meet their rules, and crowd fund sites like GoFundMe 😊 One benefit of self pay model is that health care costs are very negotiable. Best advice I give anyone faced with a medical bill, NEVER pay any bill until you are at least two notices deep. Even if you’re insured. It’s amazing how often you’re billed and the insurance company hasn’t settled the claim yet. And if you pay and didn’t have to, no one will reimburse you for an overpayment.

I wonder if what you said about insurance has anything to do with the recent news

It actually didn't. I learned about the assassination 20 minutes after I posted this. But yeah, tapping into the zeitgeist for sure.
