Compared to Rio and São Paulo, BH is way safer. There are favelas, but they are not controlled by gangs and stuff. Just take precautions around places with homeless and crackheads, like in the Rodoviária area.
I definitely felt that BH was safer than Rio or Sampa. I walked around the bus terminal as you'll see in one of the next videos. I still did not find it to be unsafe even in that location. Pretty good city.
Interessante. Interesting. Most tourists show some parts of BH that residents rarely go to. You went to the day-to-day parts of Belo Horizonte, where we earn our daily bread. The city is what it is, your video showed this without masking it.
29:24 lol it really looked like a shoplifter but i can assure u thats a blind guy and the security guard was helping him walk through, he's also carrying the guy's shoppings, if u look closely you can see the blind's man cane on his right hand ☺
Yeah I realized it after I had done the video but in the moment you can't tell right away. Nice to see that people help the elderly still in this world.
born and raised in the beaga city here. used to be a good place to live. not that it became impossible to live, but a lot of things are worse than before. you walked the old city center which we see robberies on a daily basis. The liberty square where the Savassi starts, if you take up hill instead of going down hill. The best part of the city is Belvedere where you have the first and more traditional Shopping center of the city. City is cool, with a lot of things to do. just became too big and of course problems follows.
I did not really find it to be dangerous but I guess I was only there for a short period of time to really get a full feel for the city. I did enjoy the city a lot though and would go back.
@@nickmusttravel This guy got into too much drama, it is quite safe. I've lived here since 1980 and it is the safest it has ever been since the end of the 90s.
At the beginning of the video, you were in Praça da Liberdade (Liberty square), where the state government and city hall were located. Today, the entire administrative part of the city has been transferred to the "Administrative City" (designed by the world-renowned Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated in March 2010), which is a group of very modern and huge buildings, located quite far away, between the airport and the city proper. I think you may have seen the administrative city on your way from the airport to your hotel. It's a really large and beautiful set of buildings with modern architecture. All the old administrative buildings in Praça da Liberdade (Liberty square) have been turned into museums!
@@nickmusttravel I'm from Belo Horizonte and currently live here, but I prefer São Paulo, where I lived for almost 18 years! São Paulo is a city richer in cultural options and better jobs, with better salaries!
@@johnnie1529 I actually prefer Belo Horizonte over Sao Paulo because not as crowded. But I see your point about opportunities etc and Sao Paulo has that.

@@nickmusttravel Next time you come to BH, put the Serra do Curral in your list. A short hike (20 to 30 minutes) to the top of the hills and you get a very beautiful view of the metropolis on one side and mountains on the other. Type "Parque da Serra do Curral" on Google Maps, my favourite spot in the city. Very safe and you can smell the iron ore that makes up a huge part of the area where BH is. For those of us who grew up here it is the smell of nature from our childhood.

Thanks! Yeah it is worth visiting for a few days for sure.
Nice content as always
Thank you very much. 👍
I live in Brasília, but I love traveling to ES (Espirito Santo). And it is very close to Rio, just a few hours by bus or minutes if you take a flight.
Cool! I will be going to ES very soon and it will be my first time. 👍😎
O Espírito Santo é um dos mais belos e civilizados Estados do Brasil; vcs vão gostar!❤
