One of the best collab releases in recent memory IMO. Colorways celebrating past releases that were adapted very well onto these 990 silhouettes, the special box, dust bag, socks, and all the details... But the best part IMO was, for such a hyped release, Kith did an amazing job of actually making them attainable for regular customers. There was an online raffle for each pair, an in store raffle for each pair, and then the FCFS release on the website. Giving people so many ways of getting the shoe was a really good idea. And for the website release, even if you did strike out, you were only in a queue for about a minute until it told you they sold out. Other sites you're like 100,000th in line and you wait an hour just to be told they sold out.
I hit on these and the Cyclade V2s, I was honestly expecting resell to be insane for these pairs, but it seems that they had plenty of stock. I'm hoping to double up on either one of the V2s or V4s so I can rock one and keep one on ice. I've always been a huge fan of KITH New balances, especially when they bring out the insane color palettes like they did for this pack. Each of the 4 pairs are certified bangers, but those V2s & V4s are just special imo. In hand they were extremely high quality too, and those colors just pop, definitely doubling up on one of the pairs if not both if I can muster a trade.

Great review. I picked up the ALD 991 greys for myself and got these for my fiancée and oof. I never felt so envious lol The presentation is immaculate. The box, bag, socks were incredibly appreciated. Then pulling the sneakers out just stunned me with how good they looked. This CW is incredible and the hits of purple/pink are perfect. Honestly, may have to pick a pair up for myself now. My wallet already feels lighter. 😅
@@marcmartin1729 If you don't have a solid neutral grey pair, the ALD 991s win easily. But the 990 is KING in terms of comfort while still being pretty stylish too. Legit I could wear 990s ALL DAY and have zero discomfort and my feet are fucked up. I've got like 3 pairs of 990s and no solid grey pairs so that's why I went with the 991s. Quality is immaculate and it's still pretty comfortable, but definitely not the same level of comfort as the 990s. 990 wins in comfort and uniqueness. 991 wins in quality and style. I will say if you don't own a pair of 990s, get a pair.

I got the United Arrows from Kith and the nobuck feels like butter, even softer than my 990V3 olive JJJJounds. Do you really think the quality is better on the 991 ALDs? What I like of the ALDs are the larger holes of the creamy mesh. The whole shoe looks classy and easier to wear. The United Arrows are more flashy and more bulky as well (I'm slim and have narrow feet). In the other hand. the Kith pack is unbeatable (box, dust bag, socks,...) and the price is much lower than the ALDs.

Difference is Kith went for that smooth buttery texture and ALD a more textured look and feel to it. The nubuck overlays on the ALD 991 though? Ridiculously good. It also seems the inside is a lot more cushioned than the 990v4s. All that being said, I still don't think it's as comfy as the 990s but it's definitely an amazing sneaker. I definitely agree with you ALD 991 has a lot more classier/wearable feel and it is actually a little more narrow than most models. I usually go 1/2 size down in the MADE series (990, 992, 997) so I did the same here. It fits perfect, but I think I could have went TTS since it's a bit more of a narrow sneaker. You really could not have gone wrong with Kith though. The custom box, dust bag and socks added onto an amazing sneaker really makes it stand out
My pair came in yesterday and the material quality is so insanely nice. The black suede tongue is my favorite part. I copped the v2s as well but I don't know how exactly to wear those.

These are super wearable and I love them in person, but I give the edge to the Daytona because I love the pop and think they may be more versatile than I initially thought and because I like the v3 a little bit more. But that doesn’t take away from the Cyclades which has so much flash. I am holding out and resisting the v1 - the only one where I had an L, but the whole release was great and reasonably accessible.

They use the term “Made in USA” to represent that 70% threshold you mentioned. Same thing when it comes to NB.
