    Been with Mint Mobile for 2 years. Love it!! I have the 12 month plan with unlimited talk-text and 20GBs a month for $325.00 a year tax and everything which equals $27.00 a month. Don't have to worry about a stupid phone bill every month.

      That seems expensive. We have 4 lines on US Mobile with 100 GB Premium Data, 50 GB Hotspot for $107.45.

      @@71_buttonYour 4 lines at $107.45 a month is $27.00 for each line. You get a cheaper rate for 4 lines as compared to a single line. My $28.00 a month for a single line with 20 gigs is very hard to beat! So how come you say my phone is expensive!!! Do the math buddy!

Right now we pay like $140 a month with Verizon cause we have cheaper phones but a few years ago we were paying nearly $300/month. We over $200/month with AT&T. I don't know why I've waited so long to think about switching. I've been paying $50/month with Metro since before T-mobile bought them and everything has honestly been fine but I use next to no data after looking at it recently realized the $15-$20 plans from mint would probably be fine for my use. If I do the math that's about ~$1400 I could have saved over the years. Been YouTubing around for people who switched and this video among others have helped me decide to go ahead with it.

    There's _ABSOLUTELY_ no reason that Mint's data prices should go up over time.
    The trend is showing the exact opposite, and the only reason other carriers keep their prices is because they have the entire country by the short and curlies.

      Then there is no reason to go prepaid b/c you're locked in and if you port out, they don't refund you.

    After the company sell out I was expecting to see my yearly contract option vanish. Same plan, same price. One of the reasons
    I had switched to Mint was because my previous carrier refused to allow calls to Canada. You had to call a different phone number and get their permission per call. I have a boss, and customers, in Canada.
    And Mint services some areas out here that even Verizon will not touch.

    It's been 26 months with Mint. Great customer service. Got number ported and all, but couldn't place calls. Turned out phone was locked. Mint's person was so patient in walking me through what I needed to do. Took about an hour to get phone unlocked from old carrier after paying ransom. After that, I had the code from Mint, and was good to go. I would stay with Mint just for the customer service, even if rates go up.

    • @kevin9c1
      @kevin9c1 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes this is true. With T-Mobile service, there would be roaming on, say, AT&T, for those rural situations. I don't know of T-Mobile has agreements with Verizon. While that roaming I assume is somewhat limited on T-Mobile (should be in the fine print), as you say, there is ZERO roaming for Mint. It's either T-Mobile proper, or you don't have service. You can tell because you won't have service but you'll have bars. To me that means I COULD have had roaming service if I was on T-Mobile proper. For my situation I am OK given the monumental savings.

    Allot of people get confused when they see "stream at 480p" for $X or "stream at 1080p/4K" for $X. That DOES NOT MEAN watch TH-cam videos or Netflix videos at a higher resolution for a higher price. What that whole streaming business means is for example i play videogames and I like to LIVE stream it to a service. So they mean upload streaming. Not download streaming. Another example. Say your a TH-camr & want to go live walking thru the park ECT. That you would want a higher resolution. If you make the video and upload later you don't need a streaming at 1080p or 4K plan.... I thought Id share that because Im researching plans & learned what exactly it meant. I think the phone companies don't explaine what they mean by "streaming" because if you knew "streaming" in this specific case doesn't mean "watching" videos then a sophisticated conscientious buyer such as yourself would go for the what economical plan that gives you everything you need including unlimited at a much reduced price.

    Totally incompetent Tech Support and super inefficient Customer Service. Their "specialist" screwed up my porting in and then it took me literally 8 hours of my time on the phone with them, over 2 full weeks without cell service, to shepherd them thru the fix. Their whole system is ineffective. Everytime I called them (like 15 times) it took them 20-25 mins to answer the phone + another 30-45 mins to transfer me to transfer me to a more competent Supervisor. One day, I literally spend 3 solid hours on the phone with them just trying to track a new SIM card that was late arriving, only to find they accidentally never sent it. Honest to God.
    Now on Tello and it's a totally different experience. Took me literally 15 minutes to port myself in and another 15 mins to port in my number. When I did make a mistake, their Customer Service picked up after 2 rings and was super helpful in troubleshooting my issue and resolving it. Their system is infinitely more functional. And they're just as cheap, as Mint is now raising its prices after selling out to T-Mobile.

If there’s a large amount of T-Mobile customers going through the same cell tower as you they are the priority and you are secondary. your data comes second. Thanks for the review. I don't understand why the unlimited plan has a data cap. If ur watching twitch, u'll max that quickly. What happens when u hit their cap? Do they throttle u down. I am on Tmobile with a 5 g phone and I'm getting 1 mb down. Since t-mobile bought sprint, their service has been bad. I guess I want to know how this works for someone who uses their phone.

    Dude, I have had 3gb service for the past three years and never came close to going over. What you are forgetting tell people is if you connect via your wi-fi and use the phone then, you do not use any of the mint mobile internet usage. Main thing is people need to get the service (be it T-mobile, Verizon or AF&T that works for them where the live and TRAVEL. I highlight travel since where I live any will work; head 20 miles and only Verizon works. Same where I used to live in SE UT.
    And everything other than your experience with Mint can be found online.

    For those that got the $15 5GB plan, after you use up the 5gb how fast is the slow speed? Is it fast enough for music streaming like radio?

    • @Snuper325
      @Snuper325 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not fast enough to stream radio. I've used Pandora and after a song ends you have to wait a few seconds for the next song to play.
      Videos definitely won't play.

    • @Brisingr73
      @Brisingr73 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me it's fast enough to stream music, but ultimately it depends on your streaming service and what audio quality settings it has.
      For reference, Spotify's normal audio quality setting is 96 kbps, and it falls beneath Mint's 128 kbps throttle speed.

    I have changed to mint mobile but my service really freaking sucks. And it says I have great service in my area. ... and ya they catch you with the $15 bucks a month but after you actually sign up. The 15 bucks isn't and doesn't cover what you actually think you signed up for. And I have a 5g unlocked phone (you do need an unlocked phone for this service) but even on their map for service I should have 5g service .... I don't. My husband is a trucker and I loose service more than he does. And he travels from state to state.

      To further the clarify the response you got within three weeks ago or less...
      If the plan says twenty dollars except your bill to be around twenty two in small change.
      If you're plan says $25. Expect the bill to be basically twenty eight bucks
      If your plan says fifteen dollars a month expected to be more like seventeen dollars a month and small change.
      The overall taxes in my opinion with mint. Mobile versus pure talk usa are quite similar in overall cost

    T mobile gave me an S22 free for my S9. Thats a $800 phone for a $200 phone. I had to stay for 24 months. A similar deal for other family members on our old Sprint plan. Unlimited cost $31.50 when you divide the total bill by 5 family. So for a very small amount over the Mint Unlimited, Im getting at least $600 off for the $36 extra I pay over 2 years. Mint mobile you actually pay more than thru them then the phone's you can buy elsewhere. That's not a great deal at all.....But, If all you need is 4gb and you don't care about having an upper end phone than that's probably the way to go for $15 a month.

Each time a message pops up saying, "conditional call forwarding active" and then disconnects. Even when connected to WiFi.
    You can text IF and ONLY IF you're connected to WiFi. Which isn't always easy when you're out and about, and really problematic if someone is trying to reach you. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
