In all honesty Max would destabilize zabit and zombie. The movement and output and just high pressure would make any of those less experienced guys

I think max fought conservatively in the first fight second fight he knew he won the first 3 rounds and then let off cause why take more damage then needed plus bill stepped it up but now he’s fully unleashed and goes 5 rounds as fast as the first

@@4th19th2 it’s hard tho because lightweight is full of ground game fights especially right now and holloway is almost exclusively a striker. Even if he could get past that he doesn’t have knockout power at FW which is okay because his output is enough to keep FWs down but that lack of power won’t translate as well to LW who are full of heavy heavy hitters. I love Max, and I think he should stay at FW and recapture the gold. I think he won the second fight against volkanovski.

I kind of agree that Zabit deserves a big fight, he's unbeaten run and his mega skills. But rewatching his old fights recently, he looks like he would really struggle in 5 round, I hope I'm wrong. But as Chael says with the lay off and going with the UFC's record breaking 5 round fighter, it seems a big ask. Maybe offer it to him though.

i don't think it was as clear a robbery as many other max fans, but honestly it may have benefitted max. he seems extra motivated now, if he had been given the win in that 2nd fight, i don't think he would have broke all those records vs kattar. i'm sure he still would have won, just not that badly. and i think in the next fight vs volk there will be no question that max is the winner.

I agree with uncle Chael. It just cannot be helped because things didn't work out for Zabit. Therefore, I think like it or not, Zabit would need to fight Max to be prepare and establish himself as the next fighter to challenge the champion whoever wins between Alex and Ortega later at UFC260.
If Zabit loses, then it'll be painful for all his wasted time on Yair but again this is what is needed for him to do in order to get the belt.

My question is, why should Max keep fighting all these 145ers and do all the heavy lifting like he’s still the champ, and Alex just sit there and hold on to the belt? After the Alex/ Ortega fight, Max has to fight winner........ don’t be surprised if Ortega wins the title and that rematch happens!!!!!

How is any of what you said true? Since their match, they both haven't fought for obvious reasons. Now Max fought one fight and Volkanovski is set to fight one too. How is Max "doing all the heavy lifting" and Alex is "holding onto the belt"? Also in your great wisdom please explain to me how many times you want Alexander to beat Max before it is "fair" for him to move on. I am not saying they shouldn't have a rematch, but let them have at least a year. For fucks sake, going out there and trying new stuff, refocusing, getting more tape on Volkanovski would help Max the most if he doesn't want to lose again.

@@nbc2039 yeah, i never got the hype around zabit. he does some flashy moves but from the couple fights i've seen, his output seemed pretty low and he was still gassed come the 3rd. i heard his fight vs kattar was a main event but he and his team pushed for it to only be 3 rounds. i'd love to see max embarrass him, but i don't think zabit would take that fight. he's like khabib and protecting his record is top priority, only he's not good enough to protect it the way khabib did. he'll probably try to get a fight with zombie and hope the same slow motion version that just lost to ortega shows up.

Volk wants to fight top contenders, let him get a break from fighting Max, while Max and Zabit sort out who the top contender is (hint: it's gonna be Max, but just beating the no 6 guy some, shouldn't give you an immediate title shot)

His last win was against Kattar a year ago when he was ranked lower than 6th and he was getting pieced up in the 3rd whereas Max put an absolutely beating on Kattar. I know Dana said Khabib told the lightweights to do something that made him want to fight again, but damn after that performance who wouldn't buy Khabib vs Max or even a Max vs Conor rematch (providing Conor wins this weekend) that can be either a No1 contender match or for the belt. moving up to 155 seems like a better path back to a title over having part 3 of Max vs Volkanovski
I would love to see Max vs Zabit at a date relatively close to the Alex vs Brian fight, so the winners could fight each other for the title in the summer. But I doubt it would happen unless Zabit is already in shape, Zabit cuts a ridiculous amount of weight to make his division's limit (just like Khabib), so he needs several months to plan the whole process to make the limit, that's why you never see Zabit or Khabib take fights on short notice (and also why Zabit has no gas tank).

I like max v Zabit but I'm a Ponzinibbio fan, and his match was hard to watch going against Li. Like people have said before, there's levels to this. Max is on a different level, but it's hard to doubt Zabit. Tough call.

we've seen zabit gas in three rounds. It does seem a little crazy to bring him back for a 5 rounder with Max right off the bat. Its taking someone from my 600 pound life and forceing them to run a 5k day 1.

But whitaker was given a shot at Izzy after beating Till and he said he wanted to spend time with his family,Secondly 89%of MMA experts and fans all thought Max won the second fight and Whitaker was knocked out in the second minute of the second round so these two people are not comparable.

i am now rooting for ortega over volk just because i would much rather see holloway-ortega 2 than holloway-volk 3. that would be such an awkward matchmaking situation... if they give max a third crack, and he wins, then they have to give volk a rematch right? then even if max wins that, they’re just 2-2 and they need a rubber match. so just booking this one fight could lock them into another 1-2 fights after and tie up the division for a couple years

I mean, who would face francis? if we analise all categories, the champions from every category (and here lets include even kabib and conor mcgregor), what those would do agaisnt francis?
