they are a great schooling fish, back in the 70s and 80s every pet store had them, they were less stable though probably because they had parasites. I'm glad to see you kept them going for so long, definitely will consider keeping them again.
As you mentioned, ph and gh are less important than having healthy water. A well cycled tank with more than adequate biofiltration will be the No. 1 factor in your fish keeping success overall.
I keep them with Rasboras and a pair of rather peaceful pearl gouramis. They are starting to feel comfortable after initial hiding. I have A LOT of driftwood. It really helps them.
I love these fish. I have a school of about 20+ and they are a favorite in my fish room. I have them with rainbow fish, blood parrots, and loaches. They mostly come out at night and feeding time.
I have a dozen or so in a 55. They are so cool. I was at my local fish store. They had one glass cat, by himself. Had to buy him, you really need a group of them. It broke my heart to see him all alone. LOL
I 💕💕💕the glass cats the way lights reflect off of them is so beautiful. I want to get more for my 120 I am setting up💕mine were in with whiptails & a bichir he never bothered them but were raised together& my blind cave fish 💕
I spent months trying to find some. I ended up getting 6 of them from a place 4 hours away from me and I was so excited to finally find them. They all burrowed under a rock and I haven't seen them since the day I brought them home 3 months ago.
@PrimeTimeAquatics awesome I just got home with baby brine and an impulse buy lol. I got the last 2 clown killifish they had. Been wanting some for awhile.
Honest question.’Would you try to keep them in a 75 gallon with 1 angel fish and panda Correy’s. Heavily planted tank and tall driftwood inside. Other recommendations if not?
Question: I noticed your SAEs. My 5 year-old SAEs sucked the slime-coat off larger fish and those two, even separated after I saw the issue, died. Is this a potential risk w/ Glass Cats?

Love sitting back learning and enjoy your tank

A very illuminating performance!

I see them in my local fish store all the time and think they're so cool. Think I'll get some next time.

I agree - dimmer is better
Thanks for the video Jason. I had these a longgggg time ago😂.
Your aquarium looks amazing ❤
Thank you!
I keep 4 of them in my cherry shrimp tank with chili rasboras.

these are midwater schooling fish and they do not burrow
Maybe they are behind something? They typically don't burrow.
Mine hang mid water in the plants
My eyes immediately go to the Snakeskin Barbs.
They are beautiful!
Love them!
Really like the clown loach in the video.
he is huge!
They are around 8" now!
Hey what can I do about picky eater pea puffers?
Start some live food cultures. Have had mine for years, Baby brine shrimp, grindal worms, daphnia, frozen blood worms and their favorite live snails.
@Edgeoftheworld52 so far I tried small bladder snails, frozen blood worms. Would live baby brine might work?
Yes they will. eat baby brine shrimp
They like things that move
We feed live baby brine too.

I LOVE this fish
I really want to do an all clear fish setup!
i had no idea they get that big. Almost purchased them for my 60l aquarium a few weeks ago. Glad i didn't, as the aquarium would be too small

I have not noticed them bother any other fish. Glass cats mostly ignore other fish.
My tank is cool room temperature. Would that work?
That might be a little cold for them?
💜💜💜
15$ here in Nova Scotia at petsmart
Wow - that’s a lot!
I kept some before they stayed mostly at top of tank
Welp, looks like I’ll be postponing my care guide 😅
he says no barbs, his fish are swimming with checkerboard barbs?
No tiger barbs. The fish in this video are snakeskin barbs.

@ ty
Snakeskin, 8-banded and cherry work just fine.
