Good marriage doesn't have formula, when I met my wife she shown me her British Passport, but it never moved or excite me because I wasn't interested and ready for marriage then or living in UK, I just came to UK on holiday, somehow we started dating. In less than 6months we got married, but I didn't relocate in our first 4yrs of our marriage because of my good job in Nigeria. Today we almost 10yrs in marriage with 3kids, and that has been the best decision of my life. Life is all about risk.

When i finished uni, all my friends got married except me. Years after, I got my papers and am able to do as I please.
All, my friends on the other hand, have are on their 2 or third marriage and few are truly happy.

On the contrary, don't take risks when it comes to marriage. Marry for genuine love.
Honesty, truthfulness and sincerity needs to be the foundation of every relationship/marriage from day one. Taking risks in life doesn't apply to marriage. Taking risk in marriage is same as gambling; you could win big or lose terribly. Be very careful who you're getting married to, as that would either break or make the rest of your life.
Sadly on the green card issue, you can't really tell if they genuinely want to be with you or just want to use you. That's where fervent prayer comes in.
As for prophets, too many FAKE PROPHETS out there looking for the gullible to take advantage of.

I think it's more about letting God lead you. Take green card out of the situation, dont even mention ask if they have it or not. Also, ladies please, value yourself. Dont throw yourself to anyone or let anyone disrespect you. Respect your body, respect yourself. Everyone has their own timetable, stop comparing yourself. The right man will come at the right time. Same goes for the Male folks. Always put God first and listen to your inner man, not your flesh. Because human beings are short sighted. You will surely get the right person.
Life is full of risks but one has to be wise and open eyes well because this marriage thing has to be done properly in order to prevent stories that touch. Not everyone has gotten their papers illegally . Praying and spirit of discernment is very important because i have heard of stories that have worked well but there are also some that have ended terribly. I pray God shall order my steps and no fear.

Funny but truthful topic. This one lady i know she married a dude and helped him get his greencard. Before he had his greencard he was very nice, made her feel so special. Now he got his papers and he insults her calls her ugly, hits her, got himself a good job and left her! It is just a shame. What pains her is she is 41 so she feels like it may be difficult for her to find someone else. I would rather take the risk by finding the person myself. When a friend or associate finds someone there are ulterior motives and it never works. The truth is told but whole truth or the person is presenting themselves as poor and pitiful when the person has sone money and expect u to fund everything because the person is poor. I am not rich. So funny about the Green Card issue. A card I voluntarily gave back to the US without any prejudice. The truth is that people no longer seek or know God anymore. It is all about calculations and guess work these days! If anyone seeks God truly and sincerely, God makes a Way!
Marrying for paperwork is very rampant amongst every diasporan in the western world, so many individuals/ e.g: Pastors today who claim Holiness and righteousness at one point had to do such arrangements to get their paperwork done (since Most were not birth citizens of such countries). Karma or Not, most of these marriages are premised on manipulative schemes, Those marriages were done with a view to DECEIVE; to deceive the Host countries they're in as well as the partners they're married to for papers. This deception asides being morally wrong, is also a FRAUD..( called Marriage-FRAUD). ALMOST 9 OUT OF EVERY 10 FOREIGNERS LIVING IN THE DIASPORA (e.g UK, US) have committed Marriage-FRAUD, Funny thing is that, these offense is subject to criminal prosecution, but people have glamorized it and even share it as testimony in churches who don't ask about the legitimacy of such testimonies. A house built on a faulty foundation (Deception) is no house to rely upon, definitely not from GOD. Let those who live in the white Man country come out as tell us how they got their paperwork, I am referring also to those who became citizens (birth) because of the FRAUD their parents perpetuated before they were born in the White Man country.

The solution to this is easy.....as a guy or a lady with papers....try and follow your heart and marry someone without papers...after which you ensure you have enough kids with the person b4 they get thier papers.........so in that way even if they leave you....you have something more valuable than papers to cling to and you would never be lonely. I believe the person who left will have lots of explanations to give to the kids they left behind one day.

“Paperless people are bananaful”. Oh my goodness, this man ehh. On a more serious note marriage has become so transactional especially for many Nigerians. There’s no truthfulness anymore. Most people are not sincere and nobody seeks the will of God for their life anymore. There’s nothing wrong with taking risk but you have to know your tolerance level before doing that. Some can take a risk and survive if things go south while some can be damage by it forever.

So if you have started dating or been married before, that means you are grown enough to know to not treat people based on stereotypes or with emotions from your a bad relationship in your past. This is the ordeal of many Africans in diaspora, mostly men. A lot of GOOD African brothers have ended up with some crazy ladies and terrible marriages with so much abuse. These brothers were really willing to start life with fellow African sisters who shares similar cultures but their experiences with our heavily westernized sisters is so bad that some just settlefor whatever life throws at them. My dear sisters, with love in my heart, I want to let you know life is about risks. Even when you don’t have peace about something, you can leave people with good impression of you. Treating them like trash, subpar, second class to you because you think you are a citizen and they are not. You need to be more open minded and do life better. UK, US, etc. the entire western nations are all another locations. The moment we start seeing things from this perspective, we free ourselves from the bondage of the western media and how they want us to think. You citizenship status does not in any way make you better than the next man.

Your papers is not a component of a good marriage and has never been. You want a good marriage, a man that treats you like a queen, that respects you, sleeps with you like a horse, says okay to everything you want, etc. my sister, you are not looking for a husband, you are looking for a slave. Sadly, this is what the western society has made you. This is the monster they have made out of you. You want all these good things and not willing to give up your bad habits; selfishness, greed, nightlife, drug use, flirting, etc. You go on social media all the time, the same media that messed you up this bad, and you make posts like “of he loves you, he’s gonna stay with you no matter what you do”, “if he doesn’t treat you a,b,c type of way, he’s not for you”. You are too selfish to realize these posts are selfish. You surround yourself with people who are just like you, yet you want a good man and a good marriage.
They say, if you want a different result, you need to do things differently. How do you keep doing the same thing, you don’t want to let go your singleness and all the baggage hanging on you over the years and you want a partner to just go with the flow and love you that way. You are played. The media is your worse enemy. If you don’t realize it, don’t expect life to be any different. You are going down the wrong path. There are good men and sisters without papers, be open and enjoy the beauties of life. Thank me later. Do everything with a clean heart and God will fight for you if treated bad. That’s not your job. I would keep writing and this will not end.
In closure, I will advise us to just treat people well and just do life. Serve the God you serve really good , be willing to let go of your bagged and embrace change, and let things fall in place. Sisters, you are not the project in marriage. Stop feeling like one. Brothers, you are not meant to Hitler in your marriage. Treat her with love and respect, not like an arrogant selfish man.
