    That was the best test ride of a HD livewire I have seen yet. The camera angles were excellent and the ear to ear smiles from you and camera man said you were having a blast on it. Again best test ride of a livewire on TH-cam.

    Having ridden Harleys for 50+ years , from Knuckleheads and Panheads to TwinCams , the concept of an electric Harley is hard to digest but it looks like a blast to ride......A really fun toy , like you said. I agree it’s just something to toy around with. Locals around town to toy around with not the riding your crew is used to. But you and Camera Man as usual had a blast. You are always looking like you are always ready for a good time riding. Fearless rider enjoying it all. I wish I could have saw you all in Ocean City for Bike Week. Sorry I missed you all. Caught in a traffic jam and just got there a little too late. Hope to see you on the next ride, adventure, journey, what ever. Still looking forward to following this great journey of yours and continued support of it. Ride Safe all of you.

    Hi Megan, a great review of something completely different! Your smiles says it all! I can imagine it's an amazing experience, so exhilarating! a great looking bike, and this is the future, along side Hydrogen powered ICE's possibly. So of ALL your video's......this is the one that you could LITERALLY see how much fun you guys were having!! Biggest genuine smile I have ever seen on BOTH of you guys..LOLZ. You literally hit the nail on the head with your closing comments, its more a toy than a bike currently...however it absolutely shows where electric bikes are going. If you check out the electric bikes by Zero, they are even better than the Harley....once you can go 300 miles and charge the things in less than 30 minutes, THEN they will hit mainstream for sure....in my 30 years of riding, right now is by far and away the BEST time to be a motorcyclist....wish the rest of our world was that way...as everything else, I think I would have had more fun being born 15-20 years or so earlier...(born in 1969)...cars, I would have loved being a driver in the late 60's....motorcycles...right now is absolutely INSANE! Are you guys going to Daytona for Biketoberfest??

    That answered that question... I wondered how long that battery would last and ya'll said about 3 hours. So yeah, a lot of fun for a local errand run or something, but not a serious contender for long distance riding to other states/bike weeks. But definitely looked like a lot of fun.

    Meg... When I was in Junior high (1966) an old guy on my route walking home from school took a moped removed the gas tank and engine... replaced it with an Evinrude boat starter for the electric motor then incorporated an automotive generator with an automotive regulator and 12V battery using the rheostat pedal from his wife's old Singer sewing machine for power control...he had built an electric bike that was capable of 33mph and kept the battery charged...all you heard was that starter whinning... Electric cars are an old concept look up Baker electric cars...think 1897...

      Thank you for watching and for the sincere feedback. I’ll try to mix it up with some other brand bike content. I have done that review on the challenger and the review of the R1 and the BMW S 1000R. The issue with other brands is that it is hard to find dealers that will allow me to test ride them. I’ve yet to find a sport bike dealer that allows that.

  • @christopher7310
    @christopher7310 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If my town was more EV friendly and had more charging stations, I'd be all for picking up an electric to commute back and forth to work on. I think they'd be fun. But there is absolutely zero infrastructure in my area for electric vehicles besides a couple electric chargers at the local Fred Meyer grocery store and dairy Queen. And I don't plan on hanging out at either of those long enough to charge a vehicle. Lol

    • @megsmotorcyclejourney
      @megsmotorcyclejourney  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! I don’t think I’d get it for my primary bike but it was super fun. However, the world/ current infrastructure is not ready for it. Charging was a huge pain in the butt.

  • @mikeskidmore6754

    You cango 90 miles on a charge .. I don't know how long a quick charge takes ..

    • @megsmotorcyclejourney
      @megsmotorcyclejourney  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on what level charging station- anywhere from 1.5 hours to 12 hours

    • @mikeskidmore6754
      @mikeskidmore6754 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@megsmotorcyclejourney That's why I said quick charge... OK so a home charger takes 12 hours then..
      If they had quick chargers at all Starbuckes .. You should be able to get a Free charge if you buy a cup of coffee..
      A youtuber in Canada demoded a Livewire and it cost her $12.00 for a recharge.. or was it $16.00
      I guess the Tesla charges stations charge your credit card for the actual amount it takes to recharge..
      When Trump was President I could fill my gas tank for $5.00 and had to refill about every 130 miles..

    • @mikeskidmore6754
      @mikeskidmore6754 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@megsmotorcyclejourney Faster than I would have guessed.. It took me 18 hours to fully charge two brand new 4D batteries for my loader.. with about a 10 amp charger.. 10-30 amps depending how low the batteries are tthe voltage changes to keep it cahrging close to 30 amps ..
      The batteries were only $160.00 each most places were selling for over $200 each ..
      With the Harley Davidson LiveWire, you can charge the battery to 80 percent in 40 minutes and 100 percent in an hour. So, whether you’re zipping through the mountains or cruising the coastline, you can make a quick charging pit stop, then hop back on and keep going.

I know my opinion doesn't really count for anything but I would hate for you to get hurt because some idiot caused you to take evasive action, especially if they don't hear you coming on that bike.
